Control of Tongue and Mental Peace

When the tongue craves for some delicacy, assert that you will not cater to its whims.
If you persist in eating simple food that is not savoury or hot but amply healthy, the tongue may squirm for a few days, but will soon welcome it.
That is the way to subdue it and overcome the evil consequences of it being your master.
Since the tongue is equally insistent on scandal and lascivious talk, you have to curb that tendency also.
Talk little; talk sweetly; talk only when there is pressing need; talk only to those to whom you must; do not shout or raise the voice, in anger or excitement.
Such control will improve health and mental peace, better relationship with people and minimize conflicts with others. You may be initially laughed at, but there are other compensations for you. It will conserve your time and energy; and you can put your inner energy to better use.
Baba (thought for the day)

That is why I keep usually a diet, because it feels much better than to go by the whims of the tongue.
I went through it again not long ago. I had to begin new again and in the beginning it felt difficult, but with time it got easier, but since yesterday I am taking it easy again, just to loosen up a bit, that is also needed. As I had been dieting all my life, I know what he is talking about.
And the scandal and lascivious talk of the tongue was curbed by silence. As I adapted silence as a means to observe and I began with it in my twenties, there was the much effort to understand the inner view which came up by observing that I had no interest in scandal, because it was never as it looked like anyhow and the inner view kept me always busy as it does now, it is constantly growing in understanding.

Talk little; talk sweetly; talk only when there is pressing need; talk only to those to whom you must; do not shout or raise the voice, in anger or excitement. Such control will improve health and mental peace, better relationship with people and minimize conflicts with others.

That corresponds to the introductory lecture of TM, only on the level of talk. We improved health with regular meditation and not with talk alone. We were talking about that to people to get them into meditation. I lived that already before, because I was observing and silence was the means to observe and to get insights and of course, that is today the result in my dreams.

You may be initially laughed at, but there are other compensations for you. It will conserve your time and energy; and you can put your inner energy to better use.

But that is what I wanted to understand the inner view and my own insights and dreams, I went to him because of visions I didn't understand.
But it also has made a fool out of me, taken advantage of, no safety and work for nothing at all, going in a direction to just understand the wrong done by the mind of others, who are not observing, for as it seems a very long time with hardly any compensation at all, but more time and energy and that energy I can put to better use, that is why I write now.
There is nothing more difficult on that path, but to grow by inner view and insights in dreams.
I know hardly anybody who is really able to live and understand it and therefore, even to know what he is talking about we have to first get there to have those inner views and we should meditate to get there. It is that private and hidden in our own consciousness, that most of people have anyhow no idea what he is talking about, because they think it is just outer devotion and a level of singing.
That is great isn't it?
We will be initially laughed at. He confirms what I have troubles with, because he tells me that we get more intelligent and maybe even enlightened by it, but we are alone and laughed at, great conclusion.
What do you think is the other compensation? If we get only more energy and time to put in better use, do you think it will change that we are initially laughed at?
We have not even a place we can work and do our duty and which takes in return care of us, like in other ashrams, even though in the Bhagavadgita that is seen as a principle of happiness.
An ashram is a place we can live, do our duty, be focused on higher values and not money and in return it takes care of us, that is duty and the principle of happiness.
There are no places like that in the West, we have to do our duty in the world and the world doesn't take care of us at all.
We have a duty to our mother land, and if the economy doesn't work, we will be let down.
That is how it works and in the end we face just that, we are not initially laughed at, but for always, because there is no result of it but struggle.
If I focus on him now, he is present, if I lose my focus he is gone, there is nothing else present but that, no result but my inner dreams.
And nobody can see it, nobody can prove it and nobody believes in it anyhow, not even devotees and on the material level we are laughed at for being that stupid.
Therefore, we should hold on to our sadhana, meditation and get at least rewarded on that level, maybe we are lucky enough to understand it better after all, because it is that difficult to understand. The time we need to understand it, we get old and frustrated and we end up alone, maybe a bit healthier because of more energy, but there is no other result but that and knowing inside why we are laughed at.
It is definitly easier if we accep that pain as what it is and will be, painful and as we all go in direction of more and more happiness, we will not get what we expect, because in the end will be pain to realize the result. But with our sadhana and insights we can uproot that pain.
And only if we are able to do that, we might get closer to the reality of bliss.
