I was in Paris, we lived quite happily, went in the cinema until morning, slept on the floor, had no furniture but a TV, and we had a cat. He belonged to the Hare Krishnas and they tried to live with nothing.
And then I went to a big assembly, it was near the Eifel tower, a big hall. That was startling, all those people hopping around, trying to fly, like mad, taken by the mania to go beyond limitations, to try the impossible, but in reality, they looked more like frogs, but very decided, this time they wanted it all. What we were not aware of was the mass hysteria.
Exciting to be part of, it showed that people were ready to try something new, and it was called yoga, felt more like madness, seemingly seriously scientific research was used to convince the West, and it was that new, we didn't only believe it, we were fooled by it.
Everything seemed okay to go beyond, and that in the name of love and science, even if there was no love, and no real science. But it had an effect on the mind of people, they showed a film with Francis of Assisi, and now everybody wanted to become holy and fly.
The influence of the mass of people was there, because coming back I dreamt I was flying from one skyscraper to another like superwoman.
That was definitly no inside direction, but we all thought we went inside, because it was called meditation, changing direction and work from inside, discovering that it could have on that level an outward influence.
That is not inside, that is outside, and the wrong level.
Outward is always body level, if we work to earn money or use a sutra to fly it is still the same work for a result, it is not spiritual.
Going inside is being one in consciousness, and not working for a result, because the result makes it not spiritual, but material.
By flying, as they called it, it felt light, funny and special, but it was not inside, the direction was outside, as all went for a result.
Patanjali describes the sutras as formel, applied in the mind, and it has an effect, but it is only in Samyama. We know the effect, body level, we know the sutra, mind level, we don't know samyama. What is samyama? He doesn't describe it. The aim is samyama, not flying.
What was not okay? People thought they went inside, when the direction was outwards, and that was excused as 200 percent, but it doesn't work.
Eighter inside or outside, but not both at the same time, that is just not possible.
And the Patanjali sutras go in direction of highest peace, realizing samyama, not hopping around. That is a misunderstanding of Patanjali or an abuse to get lots of people together finding it fascinating and funny enough, enlightend gets nobody by that.
Patanjali is called the father of yoga, he is a respected saint, to use him like that, seen out of the light of self-realization, and call that wrong level pure knowledge, is deceitful and criminal. It gets us nowhere.
Maybe the thousands of people at that time together helped to clean consciousness, okay, already because so many participated, but the direction is confusing and people think it is something else than it really is, and get lost in it. The self doesn't get found, it gets lost, it is lost out of sight, out of focus, as the level is hopping and flying, and by that all should be done, he really thinks we are all fools and he can do with us, whatever he wants.
By all respect, that is not self-realization.
