Transform the Impulses which agitate the Mind

Real Bliss (Ananda) can be won only by means of the transformation of the impulses which agitate the mind. It is not to be found in wealth. Many often think that the rich people are happy. Ask Me, I shall reveal to you that they are full of grief, for they come to Me in large numbers for relief. A strong physique will not give anyone any peace, nor does scholarship, asceticism or rituals.
Only constant dwelling on the Name of the Lord gives that Unshakeable Peace, unaffected by the ups and downs of life. You can call someone a Dheera (hero), if they truly take to the Name of the Lord. Keep the Form of your favorite Lord in your mind. Live always in the presence of that form-filled Name, ever vigilant in your mind. Then your life will become one continuous worship of the Lord.
Baba (thought for the day)

How do we transform the impulses which agitate the mind? And what is bliss?
We have to find it in out own self, but how do we do that?
The process is easy, we close the eyes and begin to meditate, it means we watch the breath for a little while until we notice that it gets finer and that with each inhale it is 'So' and with each outhale it is 'Ham'. We just go on easily watching the breath.
If there are thoughts coming, we don't get disturbed by it, we just go on watching the breath effortlessly. If we notice that we are in thoughts and not anymore with the breath. Just go effortlessly back to the breath, watch and when it gets finer get aware that it tells Soham... and that about twenty minutes.
After twenty minutes we stop watching the breath and take some time to allow the mind to get outward again. During meditation our focus it directed inside, therefore, we should not just jump out of it, but allow the mind to change direction. Important is that we do it every day, twenty minutes morning and evening.
We should just see that we do it and if we don't have time, we can shortcut it and count it as meditation. Important is to get used to it. That is what we can do in direction of inner peace.

Only constant dwelling on the Name of the Lord gives that Unshakeable Peace, unaffected by the ups and downs of life.

We had an interview with Baba and he said, that all mantras are okay and he said So - inhale, Ham- exhale and that it means 'I am that' or 'I am Divine' or 'I am Shiva'.
It is important to constantly dwelling on the name of the Lord, 'Soham', or whatever mantra, we are used to meditate with. Mantras are sounds, they have only a positive influence on our being and help us to realize, who we are.

The technique is just do do it regularly and a certain time. It takes care of the impulses in the mind, it is cleaning the mind. We get more energy and and therefore, are able to be more efficient in our life and duties. The realization of 'I am That' is the main thing on the spiritual path. The question who am I makes us aware if we observe that it is 'not the body' and 'not the mind'. Realizing that is also direction of bliss, because with body and mind the whole realm of illusion is facing us and often it is very confusing, but when we realize why, we can get free of it. It is about self-realization. The self is different from the body and the mind, there is a gap between the body and the higher self.

It is not to be found in wealth. Many often think that the rich people are happy. Ask Me, I shall reveal to you that they are full of grief, for they come to Me in large numbers for relief.

To be able to go beyond the up and downs of life we have to be firmly established in our own higher self.

You can call someone a Dheera (hero), if they truly take to the Name of the Lord. Keep the Form of your favorite Lord in your mind. Live always in the presence of that form-filled Name, ever vigilant in your mind. Then your life will become one continuous worship of the Lord.

If we get used to meditate, we know how to calm down the mind or how to go beyond the mind and it means also we develop the ability of discrimination.
That is the first step to realize our own self or truth, we have to know the difference between real and unreal values to get to the realization of 'I am that'.
But we can begin today, now, just in getting aware that the breath is constantly telling 'Soham'. The Soham is the real value in our breath and it is going on all our life ...
But we should practice, because we forget it again and practice takes care that we can transform the mind and it becomes 'experience' and with experience we begin to understand it. What we need is regular meditation to be able to put it into practice.
Meditation is very easy, we can do nothing wrong really, because it is done by our mind, we just allow it to happen and thoughts are part of it and when we realize that we are in thoughts, we go back to watching the breath and getting aware of the sound of the breath.
It is constantly present in and around us, but with practice we get aware of it.
'Soham' is the meditation of 'OM'.
If we practice regularly the sound in and around us is 'OM', it is the ocean of the universe, dive into that experience is very beautiful, it is bliss.
One day and with enough practice it will be a permanent reality and present at night and in sleep and that means the inner consciousness will be constantly aware of it, even during sleep, because we are always in it, it is not only part of it, it is our own reality. It is realized as 'I am that', Soham.
The first step is to discriminate between real and unreal, between the eternal and the just passing by values.

How beautiful! Thank you for sharing that insight.
You and I are We - We is He and on that level there is nothing but that.
