Be in the World, yet Away from its Tentacles

Illusion (maya) envelops the good with the blemish of the bad. It makes evil glitter with the shine of the good.
Discriminate to the best of your capacity and develop your capacity to discriminate. Struggle to win, that is the best that you can do. Your conscience knows well the source of joy and happiness. It will prod you towards the right path. You must take it as your guide and not disobey it, every time it contradicts your whim or fancy.
There is no need for you to retire into a forest or a cave to know your inner Truth and to conquer your lower nature. As a matter of fact, you have no choice to exercise your vices there, so the victory achieved there may not be genuine or lasting. Be in the world, yet away from its tentacles. This is the victory for which you deserve congratulations.

Illusion is easier to understand see out of the extreme example of the past two days. In our today's so called modern thinking and especially in my country we have 'exit firms', sick people go the way of legalized suicide to end their lives and it is called dying with dignity.
That guy I knew from ten years ago, when he went into health care education and I was impressed at his age, he was already about fourty.
I asked him therefore, if he had finished it and he said yes, but for some reason he had lost the job and now he worked occasionally and in that moment he mentioned one of those 'exit' places, but he said it was dying care and to me that sounded like completly different.

Illusion (maya) envelops the good with the blemish of the bad. It makes evil glitter with the shine of the good.

The principle of Tamas, made it look like caring of old, sick, dying people, when in reality he is the person who has to give them the death shake.
I was somehow glad we had met, because I remembered the past times, ten years ago and was not aware of the presetn.
It felt okay, I even told my daughter that I had met someone I knew long ago and that it was kind of nice talking to him, but I noticed anyhow that we just talked about death and that felt also sad. He was on his way to go and see an old friend who had lung cancer and he was concerned that he had probably not much time left.
But that night in sleep the picture looked all different. I was shocked by the pictures present in the dream or inner view. The reflection in consciousness said something else, above the guys head was death, a black guy with a reaper over his head (never seen something creepy like that) and it was kind of scary, because it had to do with life span and violence, but before it should have ended.
What was the reason to that reflection in the inner view? (Atman reacts, reflects, resounds) It was the reaction of talking to that guy.
What he had called care, was in reality - killing people and not only one, but a series of it, it said like - killed, killed, killed, killed etc. only the names were not there.
But the nightmare didn't end.
It felt like a red ribbon, the flow of life in red colored flow in the dark of night, pitch dark, cut by violence before it should end. When we are born, there is already the end kind of determined as it seems, it is a certain time we will be here. And it was always the same pattern, the ribbon was cut by a violence before it's time, repeated several times and again and agin.
It felt like it was too bad therefore, I awoke and as soon as I closed my eyes, it was present again during all night. Whenever I closed the eyes, someone was there again, like telling - I also was killed, only there was no 'I', but just a life ribbon, not blue and light, but red.
It felt strange, because it was constantly repeated again.
It didn't make sense that it was the same person telling me inside what happened to her again and again, that she was killed, what came first in my mind, but in that moment I realized what was about his work.

He kills people, that is how it was reflecting inside in the inner view which is always somehow connected to the inner master.
The conclusion was, that the lost souls, because their life has been ended violently, even if they were smoothly poisoned and just fell a sleep, however, that 'dying with dignity', is called, it is anyhow violent and ignorance, darkness.
That is how it looks, without the evil glitter what makes us think that it is about dying with dignity. The evil glitter makes it shine as good, that is Tamas. But those are sick, suffering people, looking for a way out, couldn't find it in health care and therefore, they chose death, legalized suicide.
It feels like lost souls, sticking to that guy in darkness, who doesn't know what he is doing, being the instrument of darkness and death.
He thinks it is a job, but because he has no discrimination, he thinks he is the doer. If we think we are the doer, it means we are identified with the body and get the consequences of that Karma.
He has a 'new age touch', but he would be much better of in his religion, because he would at least be scared of sin and think twice before doing that work, but because he thinks everything is self-experience, he has lost all discrimination.
He is the killer, the souls are around him and not in the light, but with him and that is darkness only and there was the agony of repetition of the same again and again and that feels rather like hell.
It makes somehow even sense, because they are with him, he took their life away, whatever the reason, job or no job, he does it again and they suffer the agony of repetition again and again, because we are all the same, there is no difference. So it feels like the same pattern repeated on and on, never ending, over and over. That felt kind of awful.
I don't know how many people he already has given that death shake... and for how long time he does that job, but they call it dying with dignity, but I get the shiver of it.
That is just what I see in my inner view, it is present in the dream, nobody can share it with me. And nobody knows how long it will be going on until they get a change for a new birth.
But what do we expect that birth to be if there is that much darkness, the result of a violent death? It cannot be such a good Karma, that is just common sense. It is all natural law. It has all to do with the fact that we are all one.
It is an illusion that we can do something like that and it doesn't affect others as well. We are all connected and in the insight it felt like we share that sinister cocktail of death and that dark Karma at least for a moment and everybody who is taking the dark road, sick or not, for whatever reason, will share the agony. After we lose the body, we get aware that we are all the same, but in hell it feels just like never ending agony and having to suffer the same again and again.
That is the reality at night after a shocking insight and after I talked to someone who is doing that work. He is working for one of those exit places, who claim that it is possible to die with dignity.
It is nothing but Tamas, turning things upside down, making the evil glitter with the shine of the good.

It seems often people going in direction of new age stuff, they don't discriminate between good and evil anymore, because they think everything is a self-experience, going ahead, living in wish fulfilling thinking and it is nothing but level confusion.
They believe that with thoughts they can manifest things and if something happens, they get to the conclusion that it is the result of their manifestation and it is all illusion and level confusion.

Struggle to win, that is the best that you can do. Your conscience knows well the source of joy and happiness. It will prod you towards the right path. You must take it as your guide and not disobey it, every time it contradicts your whim or fancy.

There is the story of a student who went to see his master and he was riding on a camel. When he arrived he was that eager to see the master, he didn't take the time to tie up the camel, but he went straight to the master. They talked for a long time and when it was time for him to go, the master looked around and said: 'I don't see your camel, where has it gone?'
The student answered: 'I wanted to see you, so I left it to God to take care of it'. That master answered, 'Very good, that is very good that you let God take care of everything. Go on letting God take care of it, but next time when you come here, you tie up the camel and you do it yourself'.
God gives us the intellect to discriminate and the hands and brains and we should know, if we don't tie up the camel, as it has an intelligence as well and sees the opportunity of freedom, it will take it and go ahead.
It is level confusion, we put God the level of the nothing, the level of the absolute on the level of the relative world, that doesn't work and it can be dangerous. As much as it can be dangerous as we see in our example above if we think everything is God and everything is a challenge for self-experience.
ABC, always be careful.
The first step is discrimination. The second step is to see it in our own life and the third step is to go on no matter what obstacles will be there.
Therefore, it is a tamasic and wrong believe if we think, everything is God, go ahead, find it in our own life and go on no matter what will be there. That is not what is meant by it and afterwards we end up killing people or not tying up the camel.
First step is discrimination. Self-realization has nothing to do with going blind into everything what comes up our way and we go for it.

Your conscience knows well the source of joy and happiness. It will prod you towards the right path. You must take it as your guide and not disobey it, every time it contradicts your whim or fancy. There is no need for you to retire into a forest or a cave to know your inner Truth and to conquer your lower nature.

I also went for TM, they said it was science only and a technique and I thought God was anyhow in it that was wrong. The yogi was in the Swiss mountains and it felt easy and we went for it out of many reasons, not aware of the danger. A wrong path doesn't mean only a wrong direction and we will have to get aware of it, we will have to understand it to be able to change direction, lots of time involved.
It was dangerous in the sense that the focus was not right and the source got lost and that means people get lost as well. But to get aware of it is even more difficult and only with the grace of divinity we found the reason why the source was lost.
The same way it went on, because we didn't know the source, we didn't know how it got lost, couldn't understand it, went for it, because it took time and there was no end to it. For how long it would go on like that, nobody knows, but we have to take the consequences of a wrong decision.
And there was someone who took advantage of it what complicated it beyond measures.

If we would go into a forest or a Himalayan cave, we could avoid all that and live just in our little place, that means our lower nature would be still there, but we would have no choice to exercise our vices there.
We often hear about the metaphor of the roasted seeds. If we plant seeds, they will sprout and the same happens to the impressions in our mind. But if the seeds are roasted they will not sprout again. If we go through the experience and see how it works we are able to roast the seeds. We could call it the art to roast the seeds, it is needed to get to the reality that they don't sprout anymore.

Be in the world, yet away from its tentacles. This is the victory for which you deserve congratulations.

Here Baba tells us why we don't just live in an ashram. In the world we have to face our lower nature and try to stay away from the tentacles.
Thinking about that guy who was in the dream with death above his head, what a creepy view, it feels like common sense only to not get into that, if we know it. But if we don't know, we just get the shivers.
At the surface level, we cannot see it and in some time to come he will probably not do that work anymore, but that will still be present and in his aura and Karma... and also those lost souls behind will be there.
For someone who is clairvoyant he probably looks like a hedgehog, the spines are the lost souls part of him now, they wait to be redeemed from the crime of violence and suicide.
Who would like to get close to those tentacles?
But that is how we have to deal with our lower nature ... When my father died, he was at a dark place and he couldn't get out of it.
It tells me that this reality is present in my family as well. It is the tendency to not wait for the light to go on again and in that mood taking to wrong conclusions and wrong decisions in the dark of night.
Maybe we don't want to know how many all together.
Finally we get a kind of a real feeling for how my father had died, even if I was not in Spain and not present at that time.
It was not a natural death, the family made it look like an accident and that explains why mother was avoiding it. She didn't respond and I finally had to write her the dream in a letter to just get some kind of feedback. She was not telling us how it really was and she avoided it for a reason, but that way we get close to reality anyhow. That is what Baba tells, a Guru leads to the 'right conclusion'.
Our mind is just deceived by the world of appearance and the mind is not able to recognize it, therefore, we have to use discrimination first ...
