The World the body of the Divine

Just as the body is the house you live in, the world is the body of God. An ant biting the little finger of your foot is able to draw your attention to the spot, and you react to the pain, making an effort to remove the tiny enemy. You must similarly feel the pain, misery, or joy or elation, wherever it is evinced in the entire land; you must make an effort to protect the land from the enemy, however remote may be the place where the enemy has presented himself. Be kind with all your kin. Expand your sympathies, serve others who stand in need to the extent of your skill and resources. Do not fritter away your talents in profitless channels. Respect for the parents, who started you in life and brought you into this world which has enabled you to gather such a vast and varied treasure of experience, is the first lesson that Dharma teaches. Here Baba calls the world with the body of God and he is the indweller. 

Everything is connected with each other. He asked us to feel the pain, misery or joy or elation as well and we should protect the land from the enemy, however remote may be the place where the enemy has presented himself. 

To be able to do that we need enough discrimination to know what and where the enemy is.

If we are kind with the enemy and not kind with our kin, we have definitely understood something wrong and we see our duty at a wrong place.

How do we expand our sympathies and serve others in need when we don’t know the difference between those in need and the enemy? If we have a lot of skills and resources we also should enjoy doing good to serve others in need and we should not focus on making the enemy stronger.

We can ask ourselves what profitless channels are. 

And especially when it is about profit thinking. If the father of my daughter sends her books about ‘think and get rich’, he is excited about it because his mind is set and he is a dreamer, he goes on thinking he can tell he meditates and people will believe it even if he never did it. He is not awake enough to realize that it is about the discipline mentioned yesterday and that this discipline or good qualities and they lead to God. 

He thinks he can fool people, his mind has to be modified by the means of spiritual discipline and if there is greed and anger in his heart, it is ignorance and darkness and no light and if there is no light, there is no devotion. 

And that is the conclusion of the insights I always get aware of, when thinking it over and the result is that we wonder, what did that guy go there and how did he get there, if he is only in the mind of taking advantage of it?

He is telling us in that sentence that my ex is frittering away in profitless channels. He lives a dream, it is not real that ‘think and get rich’ and it is misleading, it is not where we can realize the self and that means it is strengthening the enemy and not fighting it.

How do we remove the tiny enemy, with him it is not tiny but it seems to grow and get stronger and it the end it is blown up like a balloon. 

As it is only a dream, it is a balloon and when the air goes out of it, there is nothing left but an empty Western shoe, a dream only and no reality in it. 

He does go for it and takes it for real, as it seems real to him, thinking is distorted and very strange. He doesn’t think of listening to his words and to protect the land from the enemy, because he is not able to distinguish between good and bad. He is too busy building up his dream world. But how can we make it understood and easier?

If someone only takes advantage of it, everybody can get a target or a victim. Anybody can be in that role, as it seems to be just the food for a vampire and he sucks the blood of everybody coming along, he just waiting for the opportunity to take advantage of it.
He is waiting for the new food. Whatever he likes and comes along is for him just a means to exploit it. There is no love in such a heart, but anger and greed.

If a person is ill or if his mind is immersed in something else, the taste of food cannot be grasped. So also, if the heart is full of ignorance (tamas) or is wayward, no joy can be experienced even if one is engaged in remembrance of the Lord, devotional singing, recitation of the name, or meditation. The tongue will be sweet as long as there is sugar on it. Likewise, if the pillar of light called devotion continues to burn in the corridor of the heart, there will be no darkness. A bitter thing on the tongue makes the whole tongue bitter. Similarly when greed and anger enter the heart, the brightness disappears, darkness dominates the scene, and one becomes the target of countless griefs and losses. Therefore, those who aspire to attain the holy presence of the Lord must acquire certain habits, disciplines, and qualities. The usual ways of life won’t lead to God. They have to be somewhat modified by means of spiritual discipline.

We have to listen to the Lord and think it over to be able to get the message.

And we just think it over whatever is coming to our mind, the associations in our mind make it real and give us a feeling for it. 

What are profitless channels when it is only about love?
It is for sure not the same as business. 

He doesn’t want us to get richer, what is based on greed only, that is not love and no pure love, that is what is called here greed in the heart and ignorance and darkness and not the pillar of light of devotion.

To understand his message we have to go for ‘pure love’ and we have to be able to accept truth and truth is not in ‘think and get rich’, that is based on illusion and not truth.

How do we know the difference?
We have to listen and to think it over. We have to listen, think it over and absorb. We have to get familiar with the dream stage, we have to get a feeling for it dreams are not that easy to understand. 

I tried to listen and always tried to listen and went on listening, but to listen and to think it over is not the same, in the end he said nothing left but an empty Western shoe and why, he doesn’t listen. Is that really the answer we can deal with it and understand it?

If people are not able to get the message and don’t know the difference even if there is respect for the parents and we go for that first lesson that Dharma teaches.
After we met we went to see my parents and from there we went to his mother and his sister. It seemed okay and not no respect for the parents.

If we want to experience ‘pure love’ and that we have to if we want to know our heart, we have to accept truth and that is first of all getting aware that our mind is not pure and not our friend, but our enemy, we meditate and purify the mind, we go on with spiritual discipline, not to impress by that others appearing as something we are not, is that the aim of spiritual discipline?
That doesn’t make sense, it is only to purify our mind.

It is about right action and respect the parents.

When his mother died, we were in India, he let his sister alone and he never talked about it again. She told me that it was very painful to her, he came back and did like nothing had happened and when I asked him about it, you know what he said?

He gave it to him. And I didn’t understand what he was telling me at that time, it sounded kind of strange. He gave it to the divine and everything was fine, that is not respect for the parents, that is not gratitude, that is taking advantage of his presence.

He doesn’t care about feelings, he doesn’t care about the pain of his sister, he didn’t care how it felt to bury the mother, he didn’t share her suffering, he had no nice word for it and he didn’t ask how it was and how the mother died, he ignored it all in giving it to the Lord he said, it feels very much like just avoiding it to not have to feel the pain and he didn't help or assisted her in any way, he just ignored it.
It is no means to become a better person, but to become evil and ugly, with the help of divinity is certainly not the right attitude. He turned into a monster just taking advantage of it. 

The same he did with us, he went the path of least effort and I tried to talk him into common sense, it was of no use.
It was in vain, after we had left I realized that I talked with a wall, there was no use to even try. How many times I have told him to not fritter away the talents into profitless channels as we should have lived a life together in kind of meaningful purpose in direction of the divine and what was in the insight after we left. He was standing in a ruin, probably the ruin of the relationship, there was nothing left of that house but a ruin and he said, that is all he could get in garage sales.

That is a strange way of a profitless channel, but it was a profitless channel, he was standing in the ruin, and he has ruined it.

To ignore the death of a mother and ignoring the pain of the heart of the sister and not morning the mother at all, but just using a spiritual background telling, I gave it to him, is heartless and cold. So going spirituality didn’t make him a better person, but he turned into a monster.

There is not the slightest trace of gratitude in him when he ignores the pain and he is not able of morning, he avoids pain and grief and he is stupid, he just ignored everything and took advantage of it. 

It is all about a spiritual background it was the same with his daughter, it was all arranged and whatever he did as bad as it seems, he covered it behind spirituality.

So after we had left in a month time he was back at his sisters and thinking it was all arranged for him like that and she had offered him to come to her and that is what he did, he went to her house, she got from some friends she had to take care of them when they were old and he sat in the basement, he was studying first school teacher until he didn’t pass the test and after he was one more year in college and now he works as a librarian. It took him four years again to notice that he frittered away his talents in profitless channels.
He always did, he went with his talents into profitless channels. Only the last year he finally did something which was useful and he can work with now.
During those years we had no news from him, he was not interested if it was about, it was after all now my problem not his and he took the path of least effort, that means he went three years into college studying something he would never do and before it was already like that. he was the guy who began with it and said, 'you are the wife he gives' and he didn't take any responsibility for it, it was all my problem afterwards. it seems about the worst way we can take advantage of it.
 

Also the school we did it made sense, as I had a small child to take care, but for him it was just frittering away his talents in profitless channels, he was not the teacher type and he went on anyhow, God knows why? 

I never understood it, I just knew at the end that hopefully his sister would be better in as she knows him all her life and he grew up with her and she would be able with her to get into a better channel which is of more profit than what he did before, just taking advantage of whatever came along in his life as it seems.

That is how we think it over and get closer to it, we get a feeling for it and it is about the dream stage.

He can go on in profitless channels because it doesn’t matter to him that he should take care of family, his mind is set on taking advantage of it. He doesn’t care if he fritters away his talent in profitless channels, he did always stuff which didn’t bring anything at all, like Reiki, he never did it, he just paid money for it and did a crash course, he never worked with it or the newsletter. It was of no use to him or to us, and the reiki master he never used it as energy work also. He was not interested in it, so why did he do it?
And the school we should take over and it looked real because she was a devotee, but only until he came back and said to me, ‘what have you done?’ 

That was a way to tell me that it was done. And he said, ‘I will never give that woman any satisfaction’, and I wondered what had happened actually, but the school was gone and done with and all what we did in preparation as well …, it was of no use at all.
And afterwards he went on for three long years into school teaching … to not pass the test in the end and finally he did a year college to be librarian now, but that at least made some sense.

I have never met something that complicated. He never thought of us or the others, it was never a duty to him to take care of family, he wanted to be taken care of that is why he wanted to get a family to be taken care of himself. He went back to his sisters and in the mean time he even got a job and she doesn't need to take care of him anymore. 

She has sold the house and he has his own place. 

She has a studio and he as it seems as well and she said to my daughter that he didn’t pay rent and he didn’t help her with the housework or the garden and she had to do everything and she began to feel it that he took only advantage of it – no gratitude.

When she sold the house and they moved he took care only of his stuff and he didn’t even help her to move. That is as we know and experienced him, not only with us, but also with his sister.

Spirituality is for him an excuse to not care, that he doesn’t have to help his sister, it is all arranges and that perverted and everything what happens in his life is a means for him to take advantage of it. He served only his own ego.

Spirituality didn't make out of him a good person, but a monster and that was confirmed in the dream when the man who comes in our dreams to awake us was there with vampire teeth and a very long nose, horrible insights really and it is scary and it does awake us.
It is not the way we think that we would awake and together with so called devotees and listen to, ‘we and he is I’, it should not look like a demon in the inner view.
