Joy and the Heart filled with Ignorance

If a person is ill or if his mind is immersed in something else, the taste of food cannot be grasped. So also, if the heart is full of ignorance (tamas) or is wayward, no joy can be experienced even if one is engaged in remembrance of the Lord, devotional singing, recitation of the name, or meditation. The tongue will be sweet as long as there is sugar on it. Likewise, if the pillar of light called devotion continues to burn in the corridor of the heart, there will be no darkness. A bitter thing on the tongue makes the whole tongue bitter. Similarly when greed and anger enter the heart, the brightness disappears, darkness dominates the scene, and one becomes the target of countless griefs and losses. Therefore, those who aspire to attain the holy presence of the Lord must acquire certain habits, disciplines, and qualities. The usual ways of life won’t lead to God. They have to be somewhat modified by means of spiritual discipline.
Baba

More we think about it more we get aware of it why he said it, ‘we and he is I’.
First it is about ‘you and I are we’, and the dream stage is not that easy to understand in thinking it over we get a feeling for it.
We experienced how to go beyond the mind in singing. At a certain moment it was clear when it was in the mind and from that moment on it felt like boredom in the mind and it took care of it that we kept our focus on going beyond the mind.
In the dream stage was the ‘I am that’, it means there is no difference we are all the same, it was also in Darshan.
During the time Baba left the body during bhajans was that same ‘I am that’ in the air and it was above a devotee, but it was like the intellect needed just that mirror and it switched to all. It had been present first during Darshan in Ooty above Baba in the air and in the dream as we need another person to get aware of the mirror, both the same ‘I am that’ in the dream stage and as that lady was also the same ‘I am that’, it expanded to all, it was clear that all are the same ‘I am that’ and as it is said in the Bible, ‘I am the – I am that’. There is only one, the same it is in the Bible.

If we sing and we are aware of the same ‘I am that’, there is only one voice and he is the one and we have to get aware of the ‘I am I’. In singing it was present as all the same ‘I am that’, and it is the insight between us, it is part of that process getting aware of it - and that all are the same, ‘I am that’.
And it seems to expand. ‘You and I are we’ that is the first step and ‘we and he is I’ is the second step but we have to get a feeling for it and that feeling we get in thinking it over.

If the divine presence is not felt, it is due to ignorance in the heart as he is telling us in these words and that thought for the day. How do we get aware of it?
Even if we meditate or sing there is no joy if that ignorance is in the heart.
How do we find the pillar of light called devotion in the corridor of the heart?
If there is no devotion, there will be no light and even if we meditate and sing the name of the lord, it will not be joy if there is no light and no devotion.
Baba is there to lead us from untruth to truth, from darkness to light, from death to immortality. The first part of that thought for the day is just about truth. If there is ignorance, there is no joy no matter what and no devotion and we have to find the light.
That is the task of a Guru, to lead us from untruth to truth and from darkness to light and from death to immortality.

Baba is telling us here when greed and anger enter the heart, it was greed probably what we had experienced and mixed with anger, whatever it was, but we know that there was no joy, but constant finding faults, the reason for bad enough and it felt like impossible to find the light. It means there was no light and it was not possible to find the light. There was no meditation, no truth and not devotion, but the imaginative faculty of the mind developing.
If the focus is on getting rich and money only, I guess it is not possible to go beyond the mind and illusion, there is darkness and no light and that is why we realize always again that there is no devotion, no matter how long time he was in the ashram, he just takes advantage of it.
I don’t know if it is greed, but we know as Baba said that it is taking advantage of it and if that is in the heart, there is no devotion and no light and no joy and it feels totally like that even if we are not sure what it had been, if we just take advantage of it, t
here is no love.

The books he sent to us and I tried to ignore it, to smile about it, but it got worse and worse in the end he sent text quoting on those stupid books, it was like a psychopath, he sent what he thought was nice and he wanted to come here only to open up a money box, it felt all perverted and sick and it is kind of difficult to get aware of that mind state.
But it makes sense that a mind on that only, is not able to go beyond the ignorance in his heart. That means it is real what we experienced that darkness was going on dominating the scene and he is the target of countless griefs and losses.

If we want to attain the holy presence of the higher self we have to acquire certain habits, like we did, we meditated and we repeated the Siddhis, we wanted to fly and as he said in the insight, I wanted to fly, that means it was that what made us go to him, as ‘we and he is I’, it means he is the man in our dream who is there to awake us and he tells, ‘I wanted to fly’, but it has to do with both of us. ‘We wanted to fly’, that are the siddhis, it means we went there because of the same reason.
We created by meditation a spiritual habit and it was discipline, we did it every day for years and it was about qualities, the repetition of the sutras and that are divine qualities.

It is as he is telling us here, the usual way of life won’t lead to God, we would never have reached without that and the sign is the inner master saying, ‘I wanted to fly’ and if we think we did something in our past that we got there, we are wrong.
It is not what we did, but the result of the discipline in the mind and that is based on Yoga and he tradition of the masters and divinity and that means not we are the doer, but he is the doer and that is very important to see and understand that difference.

The usual ways of life won’t lead to God. They have to be somewhat modified by means of spiritual discipline.

The problem is, if we are not aware of it and we are not as it seems, we get to a wrong conclusion and that means darkness and ignorance in the heart.
After he said in an interview that it was not the right path, I had no idea what was wrong and it has been a struggle for years. I had to get aware of it, the mantras are okay as he said in the interview and the good qualities, divine qualities of Patanjali, the father of yoga are also okay.
The only thing what was not okay is that we followed the heart and the feeling level and that is knowing without thinking, the heart is telling us it is right and go there and 'yogis are our friends', it feels like permanent and non-changing and we go on because we know it is right, but we don't know really, we listen to the heart and it goes on until we don’t find the right motivation anymore.
If you have someone who is giving lectures and she went on a course and came back and she wanted again to give lectures, but it seemed a problem and instead of doing it she was just talking about. She was looking for it, it means she couldn't find it anymore.
She is looking at the place where it had been before, because she is lost, but she is not aware of it, she doesn't understand what happened.
She tries to do the same as before, it worked before, why not anymore and it was like the path got lost and why it doesn’t work anymore, it was motivated by the master behind who represented that eternal state of 'friendship', reflecting the higher self and he was not there, he was as master not at his place and she didn't realize that because he was not there, the motivation was gone when she realized that there was no way that would lead there.
We followed the heart only and we knew exactly on the heart level that it we right and that is all we wanted, but the reflection of the higher self is reflected in an accomplished master and in a yogi and yogis are our friends and we went for it, because it felt right, but it is in the master, it is alive in him and if the master is not there, we go on until we realize, there is no way we can get there, because he is not there and we don’t know what it is, because we just followed the heart and that is why they get lost.
We think we know, but we don’t know really, if we would know we would know about it and if we don't know about it, we don't understand what has happened and that means we don't know, it is illusion to think we know, we have not realized it.
And as we followed the heart on a certain level we realized that there was no way to get there – where ever we wanted to go, it was in the heart, but as we don't know, we get lost in that experience, it is like the path is gone.
That is what happens if the master is not present, people get lost.

If there is ignorance in the heart, we cannot enjoy it and probably we don’t find his divine presence in his words as well. If we want to make the experience of his presence, we have to go for ‘pure love’, he is pure love and he told us how, we have to understand peace. We purify the heart and the mind, we have to accept truth that there is no joy and we don’t feel his divine presence if there is ignorance in the heart, there is no joy and accepting that truth, we have to go for right action and that is – he, devotion, he is the light in our heart.
If that is not there, there is no way we can go beyond the mind and the body.
That is what he is telling us here, our normal life is not enough to get there and we know as we have been meditating for years already, we are maybe just not aware of it because we got to the wrong conclusion that it is something else and another reason why we went after all to him.
‘We and he is I’, we have to understand it right and in thinking it over it gets clear.
