The Master and the Mind

The Master comes to save not one good person from illusion, but the whole of mankind. He assumes a Form that people can love, appreciate and revere. He gives joy and courage by speaking your language. The only blemish that comes in between your mind and the Master is illusion. Illusion is like a fierce dog that will not allow anyone to approach the Master. You can manage to bypass it by calling out to the Master loudly so that He Himself comes down and accompanies you to His home. That is to say, you must win the Lord’s Grace to attain His proximity (Saameepyam). Illusion is the Lord’s pet, so it will not harm you if the Lord orders it to desist from harming you. So just as you give the goldsmith a broken or a dented ornament and receive a fine jewel back, entrust your mind to the Lord. It certainly needs repair, if not complete reconstruction.
Baba (thought for the day)

If the master comes to save not one good person from illusion, but the whole of mankind, how can he be happy when seven million people are only in the waking stage of experience and therefore, in illusion?
In the waking stage we don’t know the difference between illusion and reality, because we have no experience of it and as he said yesterday, it changes only when we get the experience of the existence of the divine.
The blemish between us and the master is illusion.
The example is that illusion is like a fierce dog that it will not allow anyone to approach the master.
We can call out to the master loudly and bypass it, but we have to win the Lord’s Grace to attain his proximity.
Do you remember that part, when Baba said that God’s grace is like a tank of love and it needs the tube to connect the devotee with that tank of Grace of god and the devotees look like water tubes, but if there is no connection, the water will not flow, it means the grace of God will not be there. The connection for the devotee to get divine grace is ‘pure love’.

If there is pure love, there is the Lord’s grace and he is telling us that it will not harm us.
We should give the goldsmith a broken or a dented ornament and receive a fine jewel back, we have to entrust the mind to the Lord, it needs repair, if not complete reconstruction.
During my meditation it felt like in Prasanthi and I was glad, I always came back and wondered where it had gone and it didn’t make sense to me, if the Lord is omnipresent and we are in a relationship to him, he should be everywhere and not just in Prasanthi.
We went back to him in the hope to get it next time and I tried to ask him about it, before I was a meditation teacher and I had to do something about it and now we just had         to sit and wait and he talked about the whole world, but we did nothing about it.
That is why I tried to somehow bring it up and that was in the interview he said four time, ‘wait, wait, wait, wait’.
We talk about the world and the illusion in the world and the only thing we get is ‘wait’. So I went on waiting and I went back again in my country working for some months and I came back to him and it was like I had never left and I didn’t live in my country anymore, I lived only with him and nothing was happening anymore and he talked about it in the dream why I was not married and that I should not worry about it and he would take care and when I met that guy I married and it looked like he took care of it, afterwards he is telling me that he took only advantage of it.

It was like nothing we could think or do could be right and I really felt like a total fool and I was also ready to make a total fool out of myself if it was not possible otherwise and that is what happened. Only after I went with him to the US and began to have those disaster insights like ruin in the air and being a homeless beggar woman or the Baba vampire and the Baba long nose that was not exactly a good sign. He was here for the whole world, but he nevertheless was in India in the ashram and we had to go to him to get his Darshan.

I was always looking for Baba and how to do it and not one time I noticed the importance of listening to him, thinking it over and absorb.
I wonder if it is the same like it was in our last study circle.
I repeated one question and said that we have to think it over and someone answered, what is there difficult to understand about it?
It sounded like he knows it or he is convinced he does understand it, it was a fierce attitude and it feels arrogant, because he put it in question, telling me more or less, there is nothing difficult about it. That is the mind.
We should not do that, trying to argue in the circle, it makes out of a circle a half a circle and if we get on the mind level, divinity is not anymore present, he is in his words and it is utterly stupid to put in question his words. It is rather a sign that he has no idea about it or he thinks he knows, but that is the illusion.
Thus Sai Baba tells us again and again that we cannot understand it and we can feel like fools, but he also tells us listen and think it over and absorb.
We listen only if we know that we don’t know. We don’t listen to him when we think we know.
When we think we know our mind is in illusion and thinks it is all clear, there is no need to listen. When we know we don't know and we begin to think it over we notice that nothing is clear.
When Baba said, ‘you and I are we’ he didn’t explain us how to understand it, he expects us to think it over and to get the right answer ourselves.
And if we don’t do it, we will never get the right answer. That truth is his breath we have heard it, we sung about it, we think we know it, but what does that mean in our everyday life?
If truth is his breath and he tells us, ‘you and I are we’, some strong mind in the study circle would probably tell, what is there difficult about it?
It is illusion. It is like with the ‘I am that’, what is there difficult about it, ‘I am that’, it is all clear isn’t it, why should we think about it?
‘I am God’ as well, the mind is able to reason that it is crystal clear and why does he tell us that it is difficult, if we know it already and it seems that easy?

We should actually answer if it is that easy, we should ask, why have you not realized it?
Tell me about your realization, what does it mean and tell me in Baba’s words what he means. He doesn’t tell us that ‘you and I are we’ means experience in the waking stage, it is like one and one is two and that sounds very easy, doesn’t it? Every child knows that one and one is two.
But if it is that easy, why Baba tells us first step, it is not about getting to easy conclusions and to think, all easy – I know that, is not right, we no nothing at all as long as we have not realized it.
We have to understand that it is about steps and it means there is a following step and so what, is it is still easy ...? That is how we listen to the counselor ego.
It is not that easy and in the dream he said, ‘engaged’, that is ‘you and I are we’, why did he do that? It is not that easy to know and it seems we don't actually know at all, it is all mind only and not the right answer, why should it be the mind?
It is what Baba tells, 'you and I are we'. He doesn't talk about the mind. If we listen to him we get the answer, he talks about the waking stage and he calls it Veda and we get it only if we listen to him.

In the interview room he said to the people, ‘you and I are we’ and it is Baba as well, ‘we’ all the people present in that room.
If we don't think it over, is it because we don't know how or because we think it is easy? It         seems easy. If we think it is easy, we do not see any need to think it over, the mind goes like, what’s the problem, ‘yes, you and I are we’, so what?
Only if we go deep into his words we will be able to understand it and why, we have to listen, think it over and absorb. It is in fact not easy, but very difficult to understand.
It means ‘you and I are we’ on the waking stage of our consciousness and it is always true. But if we listen to Baba there a three more stages of consciousness as he explained it a few days ago as Veda, there are four stages of consciousness.
Baba is telling us, there is a second step, ‘we and he is I’ and there is again the mind able to ask, what is there difficult about it?
And even if it is not understood really and cannot be understood really, the mind thinks it does understand, because it sounds easy, even if we know we don’t really do understand it, how do we get from ‘we to he and to the I’?
What was that?
The first step is the waking stage and ‘you and I are we’ and the following step is that ‘we (waking stage) and he (dream stage) is I (turiya stage, merging, unity)’.
We and He merge in I and does it sound still that easy for the mind? In fact, if it sounds easy it is illusion, the mind cannot understand it. We have to make the experience to be able to get the meaning of it and we have to contemplate to get there.

And there are people telling, what is there difficult about winning God’s grace?
They think they sing Bhajans to win God’s grace and whatever they do is also to win God’s grace, but they don’t listen to Baba’s words, to win God’s grace.
He tells us we win God’s grace with ‘pure love’ and if we want to make the experience of pure love, we have to understand peace and we have to accept truth and if we accept the path of truth, we have to accept right action and only if we have those three things, peace, right action and truth, we can make the experience of pure love.
Oh, is that so, no problem for the mind … why should there be a problem and by that it has already turned away from truth and it is not true but falsehood and the mind is going on thinking is there still no problem?

And the man who is in our dream to awake us makes us aware of seven million people in that waking stage and why, they all look old-fashioned like out of a different century and they try to revive the cultural values or the truth which was lost with the church and whatever they do to look that old-fashioned it said that there are seven million of it. Does he wants us to not care and forget about it? Certainly not, he came for the whole mankind and not only for one individual.

He didn’t come to only save us from illusion, but the whole of marking and if we live that oneness and we are 'that' as well, we have to live the same message and we have a responsibility for all.
How can there be happiness if he notices on the dream stage how many are actually in the waking stage and not aware of it? That is illusion, the waking stage alone is in illusion and that is why there was that much agony in the insight.
This thought for the day is telling us first that he comes to save not one good person, but the whole of mankind from illusion. Living only on the waking stage level of our consciousness is living in ‘illusion’, how can he save mankind from illusion if nothing is done about it?

The Master comes to save not one good person from illusion, but the whole of mankind. He assumes a Form that people can love, appreciate and revere.

The mind thinks everything is clear, he comes to save not only one, but all and the mind has the tendency to tell, why should that be my problem? He is God, his problem if he assumes the form that people can love and appreciate and revere it.

We know that joy in his presence, we experienced it, so what is the trouble and our mind tells, there is no trouble, it is all as it has to be, he takes care. But is it really what he is telling us here? What is the blemish that comes in between our mind and the master? He is telling us here. There is not nothing, there is illusion?
Why illusion if everything is fine and he takes care of everything? Why is there something wrong, why illusion? But he is telling us, we will bypass it by calling out to the master loudly so that he himself comes down and accompanies us to his home.

The mind is very strange, it tell us first, what is the problem, it is his problem and not mine and when Baba tells us, we can bypass the fierce dog of illusion in calling out to him, the same mind thinks I am calling that loud that he has to hear it. I am doing this and that, I am such a great devotee and it is like he said in yesterday’s thought for the day, we listen to the counselor ego and to the mind and think there is nothing and everything is understood and that we are anyhow calling out the loudest and that he has do hear it and you know what, in ignoring illusion we are actually in illusion, that is the biggest illusion that he will be there and that we are able to call out loud if we are not listening to him and we are actually not getting his message and we just think, we know and we do not realize that we don’t know. So we think there is no need to listen to his words, it is all easy.
And we go on living a dream and thinking, I will call out loud and he will be there, but we don’t listen and because we don’t listen, we don’t hear that Baba doesn’t want to only save one person from illusion but all and that if we are careless and egoistic that we are actually not living Baba’s teaching, but only listening to the counselor ego.

One thing will be sure, if we think like that and act accordingly, it is not about truth and it is even less about right action and we also have not understood peace.
We are not listening to his words, but only to the counselor ego and after all if we call out who will be there, the Lord of death, Yama will answer, but not the one we would like to answer, we will call as loud as we want, there is no divine grace.
We have to listen and accept truth and if we accept the path of truth and that means we have to acknowledge that the mind is in illusion and that not everything is just okay the way it looks and it is only his business and not mine … we have to accept truth and we have to accept right action and we have to understand peace and it is impossible if we accept truth that all those people who are in ‘illusion’ are none of our business. As Baba said, ‘your message has begun’, we have to find our own message and we cannot live with all that wisdom only for our own self, we have to share it with others.

And that seems difficult for you to get, that he said ‘engaged’ and that therefore, ‘you and I is we’, that is the basic truth, ‘we’ and not only you and if it is only you, you can call out as loud as you want, he will not be there, because God’s grace is only possible if there is pure love and to make the experience of pure love, we need three things, truth, right action and peace, that only will make us able to experience ‘pure love’ and if there is no ‘we’, but only ‘you’, there is not truth … and if there is not truth, there cannot be any right action.
‘You and I are we’, he is there for all and not only for one good person in the word.
He is there to get us out of illusion and if we live in the mind we are in illusion and not beyond illusion and if there is no truth, there is no pure love and no grace.
‘You and I is we’ is always true, if it is the whole mankind as ‘you and I it is also we’.

Baba’s words are always true and we have to listen and if we think there is no reason to listen, it means our mind is in illusion and we listen not to Baba, but to the counselor ego.
Baba’s message is not to enforce on us our stupid believe that we don’t need that and that we are too good for it etc. and we know it all already. That is not the reason we went to Baba to get confirmed in our mind that we are special and to go on living in the mind in self-elevation taking advantage of the delusive characteristic nature of the universe to get in the mind into more and more self-elevation, I am that special, I am that great and even I am God on the ego level … we must have done something right if we are such a great person and that blessed by him.
That is all self-elevation and the mind is taking advantage of the delusion of the characteristic nature of the universe to make itself feel good, it is self-aggrandizement, self-elevation and who is the master, it is not God, it is the counselor ego.

That is the conclusion after listening to Baba’s words and thinking it over, we are able to absorb the wisdom.
