Detach Yourself and You Will be Free

In our country, there is a peculiar method of trapping monkeys. This process consists of bringing a big pot with a small mouth and putting some material which is attractive to the monkey inside that pot. A monkey, out of curiosity would put its hand inside the pot and get a handful of that material. It will be trapped, unable to pull its hand out! The monkey imagines that someone inside the pot is holding its hand. Then it will attempt to run away along with the pot! No one is holding the monkey. The monkey trapped itself, due to its own attachment. The moment it lets the material go, it will be free. Similarly in this big pot of the world with narrow mouth of temporal pleasures, people are tempted! When they are lost with involvement in those pleasures, they think that someone or something is binding them down. No one is responsible for this bondage. The moment you give up the pleasures and detach yourself, you will be free!

How are we free, if we don’t hold on to the thing in the pot like the monkey?
The monkey mind is holding on to it and the bad monkey mind has probably hardly a chance to ever let go. That is how we learn to know the difference between monkey mind and bad monkey mind. No one is responsible for this bondage, but he one who is holding on to it and how do we tell a bad monkey mind to let go?
In a different age and century we probably would just have cut off his hand, so he would not be able to hold on to it.

Similarly in this big pot of the world with narrow mouth of temporal pleasures, people are tempted! When they are lost with involvement in those pleasures, they think that someone or something is binding them down. No one is responsible for this bondage. The moment you give up the pleasures and detach yourself, you will be free!

The problem is for Baba it is a narrow mouth of temporal pleasure we are tempted to hold on to it, but you know for those holding on to it that mouth is not narrow and it is huge and they don’t listen to Baba but close both ears to not have to let go and if we don’t hear it we don’t have to feel bad about it if we don’t let go, don’t we?
I went on with my book, probably Baba was present as John Bradshaw’s work about the inner child and ‘Homecoming’ seems to answer about every insight I had with Baba during that time and even before. Do you expect to get answers in that way?
Where is Baba? He is everywhere, he is not only everywhere, he told us where he is, ‘you and I are we’, so first we have to be ‘we’ and second we have understand, ‘we and you is I’. Do you hear Baba how he is telling it, we find it in YouTube.

And in case it doesn't work, we find it under the link:

I try to find it, but that is also great, a video about dream and waking stage and sleep stage. Atma is super consciousness, follow the master, face the devil, fight to the end, and finish the game. We are consciousness, not the body, enquiry very important.
Is there transformation since I listen to his words and think it over, definitely it is, I feel much closer to what he is telling now than I did before.
He also talks about mother and father and I guess getting rid of the hurt child is getting aware that they are just a symbol of the real father and mother.
And he explains the I and you = we, we, we, we, and then not I, not you, only He. Another interview he tells, ‘we and He is I’, the divine ‘I’. If you begin to listen to the first video the others follow by itself.
So I am listening to his voice and one person asks what happens with the people who come with bad qualities and he tells that in love is nothing bad, of course, and they don’t go asking they should ask and what if there is no love? He explains that Krishna is 5000 years ago and Rama is 20000 years ago. He makes a subtle difference between this and that.
Today I understand his interview much better. Did you know that he tells 3 w’s, work, worship, wisdom? Work body level, mind level worship, Atma level is wisdom, so what we do with the hands is work, what we do in thinking it over is worship and the wisdom is the result. Actually I never listened to that, he tells, wine, woman and wealth, very bad, it gets us down. I guess that is the escalator I went downwards and it was not about wine and woman as I was a woman, but he was, he wanted a wife and I thought it was a Baba Lila, how did I get to that conclusion?
For him it was about woman and wealth, the woman is my part, the wealth was your part of it that makes us also the same on the mind level. He was just expecting that Baba would give, give, give, body, mind, Atma.
Baba tells that there are three w’s good and the w’s bad; the second part is the bad part.

Actually when we listen to him it begins to get much easier, he talks about Atma and meditation is beyond the body, and in the body and mind is concentration and the focus is on the mantra, meditation is beyond the mind and merging with him and contemplation is on the border line.
It is for me much clearer now listening to his words than it has been before we were thinking it over, it is about what he tells, the difference between science and Atma and how to get the wisdom, inquiry always, very important he said, but it seems really nobody who has not the experience of it can understand it.
If we go on watching there is even an interview in the airplane, May 2003. We met him for the last time in February 03 and he was still walking.

He is telling us waking stage and dream stage and if we have both together we are omniscient, that is why we have to take the dreams and listen to him.
How strange it felt when our new center leader said that Baba was talking in me because I said we should listen to him and I told him, but no, not inside talking, listening to his words is self-enquiry and when we get the reflection in his words, we understand the dreams, because he is omniscient.
As he is omniscient he gives in his words indirectly the answer to the dreams as well and not only the waking stage.
That is the inner view and insights what he was always talking about, but it seems that difficult to understand for the mind. If we are only on the waking stage level and have no experience of mediation and insights, it seems that difficult to understand, but if we listen to his words and go into self-enquiry we see the reflection of his omnipresence and the dreams also make sense.
That is logical, if he is telling us that waking stage and dream stage together make us omniscient, that is why in listening to his words we get the insights in the dream stage, because he is omniscient and we know it, he told us, but we don’t know the right conclusion.
If we listen carefully we know that it must be like that, otherwise, it doesn’t make sense. And if we know it, we should do it, but as we don’t hear it and we don’t listen, we also don’t get to the right conclusion or the right answer.
I guess we have those insights with the parents, because they are just the parents in this life and we had past lives also and it is about going beyond our present life transcending the mind, on a certain level our parents of that life should not be a problem anymore, they were adult children, they means in the mind it seems like immature children and not human beings knowing what they were doing, they had no wisdom and no vision, they didn’t know Baba, so how can we expect to find wisdom if they don’t know him and they never wanted to know and they didn’t ask.
With the dream and the insights we go beyond the delusion in the mind and after we realized that it was only temporary and not permanent, we go back to the real parents and they are divine and Baba is the mirror of it.
By reading that book of ‘Homecoming’ I remember that with my parents or my father I had always the feeling that it didn’t make sense and therefore, I went to see them in Spain after my stay with Baba for six months and I tried to find out why it felt like that.
The same was present when he said, he knew and I didn’t know.
I didn’t know how he could know, but I knew I didn’t know it and I went ahead thinking I would get the answer because it didn’t make sense and that is the same with my father.
The father didn’t make sense the way he reacted and he was overreacting and screaming around and he didn’t listen and that way we were not at all special, but something was wrong and that is what I tried to find out, what was wrong and the neighbor was responsible, but not he was the problem, the parents could have reacted in a different way and he would not have the power to manipulate as he did, but they didn’t react in a different way and they rather threw me out of the house than looking at the truth and reality that it had to do with the father actually and that he was indirectly responsible for that mess.
If that would not have been present, that question that I had to find out what it was when I went to the parents to Spain, I probably would not have come to the conclusion that maybe in time I will know and I don’t know and I thought he knew, when in reality he didn’t know and it was all based on taking advantage of it and on ignorance, and Baba tells us that ignorance is a very bad quality.
It was the same tendency in the mind as it was due tue my father, visiting them in the feeling that I had to find out what didn't work really.
The inner child is dependent on the adult and the dependence creates the problem, the inner child is always missing the real parent and therefore, it is mourning that leads to the insight that the inner child had a divine core and that goes beyond the body and the mind and the temporary parents of this life and that we have to get there to be in touch with the divine parents and our inner higher self.
It is also Karma or a pattern if we are in the wounded child and act it out and we don’t get aware of it like I went to my parents to find what was wrong …, it was because of the unpredictable behavior of the parents.
In the book he talks about six basic qualities, surprise, joy and interests, sorrow, fear and anger. The first three are positive, ‘surprise was in the air with Baba’ when we went there and that was in that sense positive and I wondered why he looked ‘surprised’ and joy was always present during Darshan and interest is probably what was present as wonder, what was translated as (Neugierde).
So it is what Baba said, ‘why fear if I am here’. Fear has no room in the Atma, there is a gap between the Atma and the mind and the body and the fear is only part of the side of the body, so is sorrow and anger, they all belong to the mind and body part. But that are the basic emotions and it is confirmed by the Baba Darshan, they were all present, the sense of wonder, the joy and the surprise when he saw me in Darshan.

After we thought it over again and again it begins to feel well-known and we just wonder why nobody is doing it.
We cannot get closer to the wisdom of an omniscient being. We know that he is God and we know that Baba if he is omniscient what means both stages, waking stage and dream stage together. What we don’t know is that they are both together and we have to listen.
Therefore, to get the meaning of the dreams we have to listen to his real words, not the words in our heart, but the real words, the words he used in his speeches, because he is omniscient, he doesn’t come and talk in us, because it would be duality, there is only one and that oneness is just a mirror and reflecting and what we understand as wisdom when listening to his real words, (not the words we think we hear inside) it reflects that he is omniscient. It is logic and it makes sense, it is like one and one is two.

But it is based on listening to his words and he said, that waking stage and dream stage together means omniscience and if we hear it and we don’t listen, we just hear that he talks about waking and dream stage, but we don’t get to the right conclusion, because we just hear it, but we don’t listen.
It is a difference if we just hear it or we listen to him and we have to listen and think it over to be able to absorb the wisdom and that is dream stage and insights and waking stage together, that is how it grows on us and we will also become omniscient or at least we will understand his words.
The mourning of the inner child that missed his parents and the pain to be let down by them makes us aware that the inner child is able to go beyond it. There is the divine child and a non-limited Atma level and we get aware of the illusion in the mind and when we get aware of it, it goes away. When we realize that our parents have just been children themselves and that is why they looked like that in the insight, they had faces of children and looked like dwarfs. That makes us go beyond it and we are able to get aware of the ignorance in the mind. Ignorance is identified with it and not beyond it and that identification with it creates the pain, but tell the heart to stop to feel the pain if it is not able to stop?
It doesn't stop just like that feeling the pain and the sorrow, even if we know it is ignorance and due to wrong identification, it is not just going away by giving it to Baba.
We have to do the work, we have to get aware of it.
But we cannot go beyond it without that we get aware of it and to get aware of it we have to feel it and that is what happens in thinking it over and in writing it down.

Without mourning we cannot go beyond the hurt child and that is part of the mind pattern and it means we cannot let go of the pot, like the monkey we hold on to the thing in the pot as we think it has value, even if the parents are only temporary, it is still like the monkey because we think it has value. It is the heart that pains and suffers, but the heart is in pain even if it is delusion in the mind.
We cannot just go beyond the mind in thinking we are divine, there has something to happen that we wake up and that awakening has to do with going beyond the pain, but first we have to get aware of the pain before we are able to leg to of it. If we are not aware of the pain and think, everything is fine, but why there is no bliss? There is nothing to let go.
It is because we live in an apparent reality and in the mind and not beyond the mind.
We have to go beyond the mind and if we are not aware of the wounded child in us, we are not able to go beyond the mind, we walk just in circles and don’t know how to get out of it, the wounded child functions in patterns and without getting aware of the reason of those patterns and habits, we have not chance whatsoever to get out of it.
Baba is awakening us as he is the man who is in our dream to awake us, but that is the insight and we get aware of it only if we inquire about it.
The work has still to be done, it is not done when he is present in the dream, it is just the beginning and we have to think it over until we understand the dream and for that we have to listen to his omnipresent reality and get aware of the reflection in his words to be able to realize the meaning of his presence in our dreams and in the insight.
It doesn’t mean because Baba is in our dream that we are both waking stage and dream stage, it is again an illusion and a dream.
It is not that easy, we don’t just wake up and don’t have to do anything for it; we have to listen, think it over to be able to absorb that wisdom.
The wisdom is the result of the omniscience and that means waking stage and dream stage both together.
If we listen to Baba everything does make sense, we just have to listen.
People only think about love, but not about how to listen to his words, but in his words it that love, he tells us it is not a normal state of love, it is a different state of love, but that we also don’t hear…, we have to listen to his words, they are on both levels, wakting and dream stage as he is omniscient.
Only if we do it we get the experience of it and we will be able to understand it and get a feeling for it.
