Start Now what has to be Done Today

What is the use in planning a well when the house is on fire? Where is the time to dig now? When will water become available? When is the fire to be extinguished? It is an impossible task! If, at the very start, a well was ready, how helpful it would be on such critical occasions! Beginning to contemplate on God during the last moments is like beginning to dig the well when the house is on fire. Therefore equip yourself right now, by contemplating on God off and on, so that it will stand you in good stead when the end approaches. Start today the spiritual discipline that has to be done tomorrow! Start now what has to be done today! One doesn’t know what is in store the next moment; therefore there should be no delay in engaging in spiritual practices. For this physical stamina is also necessary, so the body has to be tended to, though over-tending causes damage. To the degree that is essential, the body should be looked after with great care.

If we look at the four stages of consciousness, we know them by our own experience. There is waking, dream and deep sleep state. Nobody can tell us that it is not true, because we have the same experience.

In the waking state we know the senses and it is the mind leading into the senses, everything in the waking state is mind and we think that God is everywhere, but we don’t see him and therefore, people can put it in question and doubt it and it is possible that we live only on a mind and body level. 

If we experience it, everything changes and Baba tell us if we get the vision of God, what means the experience of God’s existence, everything will change.

If God is everywhere and we can get the experience, we will get aware that there is nothing without him and everything belongs to him.

We got from someone some books about 'think and get rich, but that is all mind only and even if he is fascinated by it, whatever the reason, it is still mind. 

As divinity is the owner and on the level of oneness nothing is but he. What Baba is teaching i that we are also 'that' and we have to get aware of it. 

He thought he could get there and just ask for it, but when he asks there are two not one and he didn't put it in practice. 

And that is an illusion or as he said to him in the dream that he lived a dream and that is his problem and not the problem of Baba. 

He is not thinking it over. If it is on the level of the divine and him there nothing is his, but everything is part of the divine. 

Duality is a state where the heart is still suffering and we have to get to the realization of what Baba tells, the ‘I am I’ or ‘I am that’, it is a principle and if he is today still digging at the same place, it is because he didn't listen to him and he didn't learn his lesson. He goes on in his mind pattern the same way he did years ago and he has not changed anything really. 

He told us all that time that we should listen and practice and if we go for inner and spiritual fulfillment we will get it on all levels. 

If the mind is too strong, he was not able to give up his dream and even if Baba told him, he is still going on in his same pattern. 

What is the use if we have the man who comes in our dream to awake us and we ignore it? He still is at the same place he had been years ago, nothing has changed really, outside yes, but not in his thoughts. 

He is an example how we can stay on the mind level and he doesn’t listen to Baba. On that level Baba will for sure not give, and really he said it to him such a long time ago, there are more than twenty years in between and he didn't try to understand it or to get the message, he just ignored it. So he is still living in his dream, even if Baba told him a long time ago that he will not give and he still goes on and lives in his dream. He is not aware that it is a dream, even if he told him in the dream, he didn't do any effort to get the message. He goes on in his mind dreaming his dream and whatever we said and told him, it was also unheard, he lives in his cave and nothing goes in and nothing comes out really, it is actually terrible to get aware of it how limited the mind is and that we get trapped in it.

If we want to get fulfillment we should realize that we are that. 

Baba said in the dream before he left the body that he is on a place where gold and silver flows, whatever that means, but it doesn’t mean being not rich if it is on the outer or inner level. As it was that important to my ex and he still is living his dream, he doesn't get out of it, he cannot let go of his dream and that is the mind, but if we are not able to let go, we also are not able to experience that. As long as the mind is stronger, we cannot make the experience of the divine, because the mind is too strong. 

Bliss is the only real thing we want and nothing else and this we cannot get on the mind level.

The result is his and we don't know it, therefore, whatever it is, we should go for the highest first and that is the vision of the divine and we will get it as he said. 

I guess for someone who has realized divinity and who is divine like Baba, he is the owner of everything anyhow, so it doesn’t matter, there is no difference, but for the mind it matters, because he has no notion of unity. 

We have to get aware of the difference between illusion and reality and self-realization and if we are in the mind, we don't even get aware of the delusion and what it is to be in a dream, he thinks that this is real and he has not learnt anything from it.

Atma is real, the higher self is real and as he said not long ago, Atma, Brahman, the higher self and OM are the same, that is the part which is always true and real and the mind is illusion and to ‘think and get rich’ or asking for something, when it is on the mind level, is all the same, it is based on a dream and as he said, he will not give and that he lived a dream and he didn't get it. 

He didn't learn the lesson. He still thinks it is real. 

There is no difference between the father and the son, but we have to get aware of it and he is like someone who has no idea of it whatsoever and he never thought about it. 

He sees divinity outside and it feels like he has not the slightest notion about what he is doing and why he is there and what it is all about.  

Baba said that he is stupid. He is at the source and he is still listening only to his mind and looks in books for it and that is all mind and in the mean time he has spent a lot of time in the ashram and it didn't change anything. He doesn't want to know about the higher self and he doesn't search for self-knowledge and he doesn't know the divine.

Without enthusiasm, courage, devotion, energy, readiness and sincerity nothing can be achieved. (Baba)

If we think it over like in that thought for the day, we have to be ready for a fire and dig the well before the fire is there, in the moment when we have a fire it is too late. We have to be ready, it is about readiness.

We have to be ready for it and if we begin too late it will be too late one day and we have missed the unique chance to realize that we are the divine as well.

That is why we have to begin to contemplate and not in the last moments and how do we contemplate, we think it over and by thinking it over we see it in our own life. 

It takes time to dig a well and if we begin too late, it will not be finished when we need it. We have to do it now in the present and that is important, now - it is like with meditation, it is about purification of the mind and that we can compare to cleaning our teeth, we don’t clean them today for tomorrow, we do clean them today and tomorrow again, that is the attitude with Sadhana, it has to be done in the present to be real and we do it today and tomorrow again and so on.

If, at the very start, a well was ready, how helpful it would be on such critical occasions! If we know we are the Atma when the end approaches we will have the divine Darshan and if we don’t know and we are in the body, we will have Yama Darshan, the god of death. 

If we think dust, dust we are, if we think God, God we are. (Baba)

Divinity is a state of consciousness and has to be realized. 

We have to go through the four stages of consciousness on our path to self-realization. 

In the waking state we get to the conclusion, everything is divinity, so if that is true, I am that as well, but it is not realized, it is just a mind conclusion. And it is only the first stage and we have three more to go. 

On the level of the dream it is different and we cannot reason in the same manner. It is as he is telling us self-contained and that means we have to see it reflected in our own self and it is ‘seeing’, it is inner view and if we are listening to him, we get aware of the same         reflection in his words as it is in our dream or inside of us in the self. The truth is reflected in the mirror of the heart. It is inner view as Baba is always telling us, inner view and not interview. There is a difference between inner focus and outer waking state and that is reflected in the dream stage, that is inner focus. 

We have to see that difference on those levels of consciousness. 

We have to do today what we have to get tomorrow.

If we are dreaming always the same dream, he doesn't do today what he wants to get tomorrow, he manifests the absence of it and not the fulfillment. If he would have listened to Baba, he would know that divinity is the owner of everything and if he wants to get there, whatever that is, he should start today realizing the divine.

One doesn’t know what is in store the next moment; therefore there should be no delay in engaging in spiritual practices. We have to start now, as we don’t know the next moment and the past and the future are part of the mind. We should not delay in engaging in spiritual practice. 

It is about God consciousness. 

Nobody has a problem with it to think that divinity is everywhere, if we believe in him, but that is just the waking state and a mind conclusion anyhow and not the experience of it and we have to get the experience. 

The dream state is different, as it is self-contained it is not about the mind and we find therefore the reflection of it in his words, in listening to the divine. We get to the inner view and to the inner seeing, it can only be reflected and if we get on a mind level it results in level confusion. 

If we have dreams and the man who is in our dream to awake us, we also know that in his words is reflected the same truth if we listen to him and if we go deep into it. And like with a study circle, if we don't go deep into his wisdom, it is only half a circle and he said it can be on that level and go on forever. So people will not even notice it if it is only about a sharing circle and not about a study circle and they even think it has to be like that, it is all based on mind conclusions. 

It is maybe easier to get if we think about natural law. A reflection in the mirror of our heart is seen inside in the dream and it has the nature of mirror. 

It is mirror language and backwards and the mind has no way to be able to understand it as it is mirror language. If we listen to Baba’s words and look for truth in his words we actually get aware of the reflection. It is like negative and negative image and that is positive, isn’t it? 

With the mind we have positive and positive and that is also positive, but in the dream it is like negative, the picture has like a negative of a photo a different color and we need to develop it first to see it right and that is the dream state, we see it in the reflection and in our dream like a negative and we listen to Baba and there we also get aware of it and we have to listen, think it over to be able to absorb the wisdom, that is like developing a picture before we can clearly see what is on it. 

And by that we get aware that we have the same in our dream and that it is negative and it needs to be developed to get positive. It is a different approach in the dream stage and Baba is on that level, the dream stage is about God consciousness. 

The waking state is kind of logic and we know it from meditation, it is like one and one is two, if we meditate, we purify the mind, that is logic and if we purify the mind, we also purify the collective consciousness, on that level we have no limitations if there is purification it influences also the collective level of the mind.  

That is all logical and therefore, it is probably easier, we know if we mediate we purify the mind and we do the best not only for ourselves, but also for the others. 

But on the stage of the dream and dream consciousness we deal with another reality, it is not gross and on the gross body complex level, it is more subtle and on the inside, seeing level. God consciousness and it like minus one and minus one is one.

It is stupid to go to Baba and he is teaching us how to get there and how to become real and we don't listen to him. If we go on listening to the mind, we listen to those cheating others, they write it only to make money with it. The message of self-realization it different and not deceiving us. 

Truth and Atma is the right path, it is real and that means, not cheating people.
We have to trust and listen to him and put it into practice, without contemplation we never get to the experience that we are 'that' as well.  

But that is the solution of the problem and not books which enforce the mind and make us go on forever in a dream state of life. 

It is like being hungry and we go to restaurant and there is the food and instead of enjoying and eating it, we go back hungry and look for it where we didn't get it before, so we go on being hungry ... and we are too stupid to get aware it that are looking for it on the wrong place and we go on hungry and digging on the not right place, but of course, is no use and even if he told us, we still go in that dream and we are digging on the not right place, that is real stupid, but we still think we know better and we don't listen.
The food we are looking for we find with Atma and if we don't know it by now, it is because we have been and we go on looking for it on the wrong place. 

If we look for something where it is not, we actually are not going to find it.
That is natural law and stupid, if we have the source of everything in front of us or as it also called Kamadenu the celestial cow with the nectar of bliss and that is 'real happiness' or the wish fulfilling tree. But if are going to understand that again on the mind level or waking stage of consciousness, what is mind, we are wrong again and we will be again looking for it at the not right place.
If it is about God-consciousness and self-realization, we find that in the dream stage and we have to live the natural law of this stage, what is inner view, inner seeing, insights and we get aware of it by contemplation and listening to his words.
