You are not a despicable creature, born in
slime or sin, to eke out a drab existence and be extinguished forever. You are
immortal and eternal. So when the call comes, respond with your whole heart.
The Principle of Divinity must be experienced, for it is beyond expressions and
explanation. The richness, fullness and depth of that experience can never be
communicated in words. You must feel that it is your highest destiny to attain
that experience. You are a mixture of Deha and Deva -
the mortal and the immortal. Liberation means stoppage of grief and acquisition
of joy. All that you have to do is to place all your burdens on God. It makes
you care-free and grief-free. Then you will take everything as a divine play of
the Lord you love and live in bliss just as He is, when His plans are going
through!
Sometimes when translating Baba’s words it is
very strong. I guess I was even dreamt about it last night and in my memories I
felt like in Prasanthi Nilayam as it was in the earlier days and I loved that
air in the ashram and around the mandir and we waited for him and felt his
presence.
To awake with that feeling of his presence is
great, he is the ocean and when he is present, we go in that direction of
merging of the soul with the over-soul and often when it does happen, we don’t
even know why and how.
In his words he is present and sometimes that powerful. I
had last night a feeling of being sick and it was a headache and this morning
it was more like a shower of nectar by feeling his divine presence.
We should find a way to always merge the soul with the
over-soul and if we don’t reach that, I guess that is when my headache begins
or something like that.
As he said in the thought for the day yesterday, every
action, every word, every thought should go in that direction, the direction of
the higher self only and it will swell to a great divine river flowing together
to God-realization and if we listen to Baba’s words, as it is really in his
words.
If we think over his words, we are in his
thought and we are also expressing his divine deed, that is how we become one
with the divine.
That is what we experienced with the Maharishi
who said that he multiplied himself in the teachers, but every word was
learnt by heart and repeated and that are also his thoughts and it is his
divine duty and deed and by doing that it was all over the world the same
principle, it was in the aim to keep the teaching pure, but as it was all
learnt by heart only it made out of people puppets on a string.
But if we use his words and think it over, we
are in his divine thoughts and if we are in his divine thoughts and use his
words, we are also in his divine deed. That is how we get the experience of
oneness as it is about a divine principle. We cannot realize that principle
with our own effort or with our own mind, we realizing by listening to his
words, he is the principle and it is recognized as the same in our higher self
and not by the mind, the mind is of no help, but only an obstacles. It has to
be mirrored in the inner view that Atmic principle and by that we get aware
that we are that as well. Therefore, without listening to him we don't get
closer to the divine principle.
It may not be a level of imagination that we are like him, that is just developing the imaginative faculty of the mind, we have to use his words, that is the key.
It may not be a level of imagination that we are like him, that is just developing the imaginative faculty of the mind, we have to use his words, that is the key.
If we use Baba’s words, we are also in his
divine thoughts and by thinking it over and seeing it in our own life, we get a
deeper feeling for the wisdom and it reflects as the same divine principle, the
‘I am that’ and that is Veda and in that cognition is the possibility that
we get convinced that we are also Brahman and the principle of 'I am that'.
It seems it made it much easier if we learnt it
by heart and we understand it twenty years later
why we had to learn it by heart than not learning it by heart and we never
understand why we should use the divine words and why it doesn’t work without
self-enquiry. But when it is learnt by heart, it felt also like a trap, no way
out and that we would like at all actually.
You are not a despicable creature, born in
slime or sin, to eke out a drab existence and be extinguished forever. You are
immortal and eternal. So when the call comes, respond with your whole heart.
Something like that happened last night after
translating the divine words, the response was with the whole heart. In that
text he was fully present telling us to merge with the river of the over-soul
to be one with that divine principle that sanctifies every word and deed and to
offer on the altar our ego and selfishness.
The Principle of Divinity must be experienced,
for it is beyond expressions and explanation.
If we don’t do it, we cannot make the experience
of it, we need to practice to be able to make the experience. We have to go for
it and not in thinking what it could be if and not in thinking about the roles,
we are playing, but for the sake of divinity and our own higher self, we should
go for it to find his omnipresent reality in our present life.
The richness, fullness and depth of that
experience can never be communicated in words. You must feel that it is your
highest destiny to attain that experience.
That is what he is telling us and if it is not strong enough or it is
only focused on singing and not enough on his words and he is really in his
words. The oneness of thought, word and deed is present in his words, he
is in his words. If we get aware of the word and the wisdom in his words, we
get aware of the divine thought and that is his presence and if we are in his
words and thoughts in thinking it over and feel it in our own life, we feel his
presence and if we go on no matter what obstacles are there, we are also in the
divine ‘deed’ and we are his instruments and one with him.
You are a mixture of Deha and Deva - the mortal and the
immortal. Liberation means stoppage of grief and acquisition of joy. All that
you have to do is to place all your burdens on God. It makes you care-free and
grief-free. Then you will take everything as a divine play of the Lord you love
and live in bliss just as He is, when His plans are going through!
It was a divine Lila yesterday, but I had no
idea how to deal with it and I had even a headache, I couldn't do it as they
wanted me to do it and what did it mean in that moment to go on no matter what
obstacles are there. I just didn’t know how to do it and as time went by the
headache got stronger and no way I wanted to argue about it and finally I just
translated his words and it felt that powerful and that is how I sent it away.
Swami explains it with the study circle, if we go deep into
his wisdom only it will be a circle, if we stay at the surface we can come back
with a headache and it is only half a circle and it can go on forever like
that. And I thought, oh my God, I don't want to have always headache, that
doesn’t sound good, so how can we make sure that we go deep enough into it so
that it is a circle, we have to find a way to get deeper into his wisdom and
writing about it is a way.
That is what happens when we think over his
words, we get deeper into his wisdom, even if we see it in our own life, we
have to see it in our own life, that gives us a feeling for it and it is like
the education or cultivation of the feeling in us, but that happens when we
look at his words and see it in our own life, with time that what we see gets
transformed and is not the same anymore as it was when we began, we get on the
feeling level answers and he is present in those answers.
Yesterday it was a matter of knowing how to answer with the
divine words and not without them, only the memory of the headache is still
there.
In his divine words and power and his
omniscience and that incredible wisdom is present, we don't get aware of it if
we don't think it over and we make it get alive if we do think it over.
Only in the light of Baba’s words and his
immense divinity we feel that greatness and we get a feeling for that oneness,
the message of the merging of the soul with the over-soul, the oneness of all
beings, that is the message of Veda and that is for us the breathtaking
ecstatic and incredible divinity we know from our experience with Baba.
All that you have to do is to place all your burdens on God. It makes you care-free and grief-free. Then you will take everything as a divine play of the Lord you love and live in bliss just as He is, when His plans are going through!
We should know how to burden it on God that it makes us care-free and grief-free, yesterday feeling that headache I doubted that I knew how. It felt to me just like that, like a burden.
He is the doer, if we let him do it for us, we get the reward for it. If we let him give the answers and they are in his thoughts, his words and after all in his divine deed, he knows the divine principle, how will we ever know if we try to find it in our own mind, that doesn't work, we have to see it inside reflected in our own self, that is the right way to realize it and for that reason we have to listen to his words, the listening to his words creates a reflection in our own self, it is on the inner seeing level and when we get aware of that reflection and also that needs to go on no matter what obstacles are there, it doesn't happen by itself, we have to keep the focus on it and we are the instruments and live in bliss as he is, when His plans are going trough!
How can his plans go through if we don't listen to his words?
The Lord is a divine principle and that is
omnipresent as love, but only when we know the principle we are able to make
that great experience of 'pure divine love' and the divine principle is not in
us, not in the mind, it is in the higher self and that part in us has to be
discovered and as it is in his words, in listening we get the reflection of the
divine principle in our own higher self and that is what makes us aware of it -
the cognition that we are the same 'I am that'.
It is first in his thoughts, he is the living
prove of the principle of 'I am that' in the Veda and when we focus on his
words, we begin to reflect it and we begin to see it and after all it will be
present in out own higher self as 'I am that', but it is for us like looking
inside and in the mirror and we have to recognize the reflection of it in the
mirror.
That is all present in his words. And that is
also the way we can give the burden to him, as long as we try to solve the
problems in our own mind, we will not get there and not be able to make that
divine experience of being one with that divine principle.
