The Salt of the Earth

There are no limitations of time or space for the establishment of oneself in the contemplation of the Omnipresent Lord. There is nothing like a holy place or a special time. Wherever the mind revels in contemplation of the Divine, that place is holy! Whenever it does so, that moment becomes the auspicious moment! Ancient sages and scriptures also revealed to us that for meditation on God, there is no fixed time or place. Hence anytime and anywhere your mind desires, meditate on the Lord! The world can achieve prosperity only through disciplined souls whose hearts are pure; they represent the salt of the earth. In an attempt to promote the welfare of the world, from this very minute, everyone should pray for the advent of the noble and holy, and try to deserve the blessings of the great. Every day you retire, recall these thoughts, and try to forget the sufferings of the day.
Baba (thought for the day)

Swami is telling us with these words that there is no limitation of time and space for the establishment of oneself in the contemplation of the omnipresent Lord. And he is confirming that on this level is no difference between past, present and future, it is omnipresence.
Listen, think it over, absorb is a holistic approach. It means not only to read it, if we just read his words, it is only reading and not listening to it what involves at the same time thinking it over to be able to absorb the wisdom. Only if we see it in our own life, we are able to understand it.
The feeling of self-realization I had time back when I was about seventeen and it was on that divine level, no time and no space, it is still the same, it is there or it is not there, but it can always be again recalled if we know how it was there and why it was not there for so long.
I felt very disturbed by the fact that it seemed gone and it was nowhere to be found, today I can relate to it like it would have happened yesterday.
There is no more that feeling that I don’t know why it was there and where and how to find it and what had made it disappear.
What has gone is the feeling that it cannot be found anymore and the feeling of not knowing how to get there. There was something that made it impossible that it could be felt again and as long as we are in that state of mind, it doesn't feel like passing clouds and that it will be there again some time to come. I was looking for it and it seemed nearly impossible to find out why it had gone and it seemed nowhere to be found again. But I knew it was there, that means it had to be somewhere even if I was not able to feel it anymore.

We feel it again and in his words he tells us why we feel it again. Once during an interview he had asked the group, 'why are you here?'
And nobody was really able to tell and I would have liked to know, but I couldn't give the right answer and he said, 'self-realization'.
Afterwards I knew something must be wrong not in the way I looked at it, but in the way my family or the others looked at it and I began to search for it.
If it would just have been normal what we think normality is, it would not have changed and it would have been always present.
Mother’s attitude, sometimes I understand it and sometimes not at all, was part of that it was not anymore to be felt, there is no difference in omnipresence, and it is always true.
And we don’t find a special place or a certain time, it is beyond time and space and that is just what we were listening to in his words not long ago and when he said that we cannot understand it no matter how long we try. It can be even confusing when we feel there is no difference and it is still the same.
There is no reason for it that something we have experienced such a long time back can be present again and it has never been not present, therefore, our life was overshadowed by Maya, illusion, but what is that? We have to get aware of it.

If we find the presence of the Lord in the now and with contemplation, we were focused on him in the past and we are still in that focus on him only, we just don't know it yet or with other words, we have not yet realized it.
If there is contemplation we find the moment and place where everything is back, nothing got lost, it is all there and that is the holy place Swami is talking about here.
There is no difference from his presence in Prasanthi, he is still present and that we thought he was only in Prasanthi that is due to our mind and attachment to the form and the delusion in our mind.
Wherever the mind reveals the contemplation of the Lord, that place is holy. Whenever it does so, that moment is auspicious. Meditation on God doesn’t know a fix time and space.
The moment we feel his omnipresence, we don’t need to go and look for him somewhere else as he is everywhere.

It is very beautiful, isn't it? But there is no way we can understand it, we have to make the experience of it.
That is why Swami always said we cannot understand it. We know we can transcend the mind with a mantra and we know there is no time and space feeling and when we have thoughts we are back in the mind, all that we know.
But it is a different experience if we realize by contemplation that there is omnipresence and that time and space we don’t experience during meditation and we have therefore, no feeling for it, that same time and space is not present when we experience the omnipresence of the divine.
It means whatever it was, it is the same, nothing changed and that miracle we have to experience to be able to know that it is possible to get aware of it and that very moment is auspicious and holy.

Ancient sages and scriptures also revealed to us that for meditation on God, there is no fixed time or place. Hence anytime and anywhere your mind desires, meditate on the Lord!

We just get aware of it that it is the same, if we feel the same level, where should we go to make the experience of it?
It was after a study circle and in the Sai center, it was in good company, we shared his thoughts and it is contemplation of truth. If we are with people who know only the mind reality, that will keep us in the mind as well.
I guess that makes sense and that is why he is always telling us, we have to be in good company, we have to share it with those who also focus on the eternal divine to make that experience, it has to be undisturbed and always present.

Swami is not talking about one form here, but about the advent of the noble and holy, because they make it possible for us to get that precious experience of the omnipresent divine.
When I write about the painful experience with my mother and that I didn’t understand her state of mind and it didn’t make sense to me, it doesn’t mean that she is not God, it was just a mind pattern that made it impossible to experience it.
When we get aware of the pattern, the obstacles in the mind go away and it is like the clouds get dispersed and we are back in the sunshine.
It doesn’t mean we have to give up our life and whatever our life style, we just make the best out of it and keep the focus on the divine.

Every day you retire, recall these thoughts, and try to forget the sufferings of the day.

That is the prayer, may all people in the whole world be happy.
We have to forget the suffering of the day to pray for the advent of the noble and holy. That is what Baba said not long ago when he explained that we cannot know the consequences of the yearning of our soul, that is why we have to pray for the advent of the noble and the holy.
And that is true for everybody and also for us.
As you said, we can only deal with the hand we are dealt with. Do you think I find faults with you? Is it your mistake if we find a NPD pattern in my ex?
I don’t think so, it is his problem, and he went there with it to Swami and took advantage of it. What is our Karma?
As long as we try to do our best in the sense of Swami’s words in that thought for the day, that is all we can do, we cannot change people and influence their minds and make them see what they don’t want to see or are not able to see.

I had seven years to get aware that it was of no use trying and we were talking always about spiritual stuff and he did other things, but he didn’t change the pattern.
I went always after I had been six months with Baba for a visit to my parents and it didn’t change anything really.
We just have to do what is right, we can only deal with the hand we are dealt with.
Baba also said there is no way out, in other words, we can only deal with the hand we are dealt with, so we do our best if we pray for the advent of the noble and holy and we pray for it in meditating. No use to worry about it, we know it from our meditation practice, it is not about worrying that doesn’t change anything, it is about purity and that we achieve with regular meditation.

That is our prayer.
We achieve prosperity only through disciplines souls whose heart is pure. It is the salt of the earth, there is everybody included focused on the welfare of the world and not just about ‘think and get rich’, the books my ex has sent over the past years to my daughter, it was always the same.
A rich man who told his secrets in a book to his children and he sends it to his daughter thinking that it was good for that man’s children it must be good for his daughter.

He is not praying for the advent of the noble and holy, he is dreaming his dream and he didn’t change at all. He goes on dreaming his dream.
If we give the message to the world that we should just dream our dreams and that being wealthy is the answer to it, we don’t pray for the advent of the noble and holy and are not in the message which is in his words, it is not the message of Veda.
Swami said, craving is the disease and Baba told him that he suffered from mental depression and that is a disease.
We didn’t realize what it means when Baba talks about a disease, it is not the same when a physician makes the diagnosis we were not enough aware of it, we didn’t listen to his words.
And that is what Baba said, ‘you didn’t listen, you have to get a divorce’.
So I thought why I didn’t listen, I tried to listen and I did everything to listen, but we have to listen a different way and he is telling us in his words why disease and what it means when he is talking about mental depression.
Baba said it and it was a warning to all who listen to him, but those who are not listening didn't get the warning.
If we listen and we know it is a disease we will not take it lighthearted and go into something we cannot get out of it anymore afterwards.
We listened to his mind and not to Baba. We listened to the appearance and not to Baba.
And others were the same, because if we don't listen, we are not aware of it.
Nothing what Baba tells us makes sense as long as we don’t make an effort to contemplate on the divine words and we don’t listen.
Listening to Baba’s words is not just listening, it is on three levels, it means it is holistic, we have to listen, think it over and absorb to be able to get the message and only if we do it and practice we listen to his words. Just reading the thought for the day is not listening, it is just reading it.

If we listen, think it over and absorb, we have to think about his words and we think about the message and we look at what is in our mind and we think it over and after listening to it we a different feeling about it and we are able to absorb his message in our own higher self.
We know from our meditation experience that welfare of the world is to purify the mind and if we focus on contemplation of the divine and we go on purifying our mind and doing our best, we have to accept right action and we have to accept truth and we understand peace and that is how we are able to make the experience of pure love. It is not possible if those three things are not there, truth, right action and peace and on the basis of pure love we can make the experience of his omnipresence.
In that sense we work for the welfare of the world.

It is the same. Swami calls it praying for the advent of the noble and holy. We should every night give the worries of the day to him and return to our own higher divine self and by that we get out of the suffering and we purify the mind and pray for the advent of the holy and the noble in this world.
