Concept of Reflection, Reaction and Resound

One might concede the concept of reflection, reaction and resound in cases where the person is not directly involved.
A man sees a snake swallowing a frog; he is upset and angry with the snake. Where is the question of reflection etc., in this case?
To understand that, let us suppose that this man is an astronomer and discovers that one galaxy is swallowing another - galaxies are known to do this occasionally. This astronomer is happy that he has made a discovery and even publishes a paper on it.
In both instances, one entity is annihilating another but in one case the man/observer is angry, whereas in the other he is happy.
Where did this anger and happiness come from? Did, for example, the gobbling galaxy part with a bit of its joy, (that is, if it did feel some joy)?
In both cases, the person or the observer was reacting based on what was within him.
As Swami often says, As is the thought, so is the feeling.
In the world of computers, there is a phrase: What you see is what you get - WYSIWYG.
In spirituality the rule is: "What you see is what you want to see!"

I am actually fascinated by mathematics and I know it is possible to prove the existence of the irrational transcendental reality, but I don't know it enough to be able to calculate it myself.
In this text of Baba articles are two examples showing the relationship of our inner reaction to different situations and in question is reflection ...

If I would see a snake eat a frog I would be sorry with the frog and that its life is sacrificed for a meal and I would recall at the same time the reality of how many animal lives we humans destroy without even being aware of what we are doing.
The snake has to survive and eats only when hungry and humans are able to kill out of sports or fun just hunting.
Black hole swallows Galaxy
The reflection is to the inner knowing that one species eats and has to survive and my species kills for fun and the reaction is the thought that it is far better to change my own species and it is useless to be angry at a snake. It is mother nature and we cannot change it, the snake has a right to live too and we can only change ourselves. If there is guilt we have to do something, because we could do better.
The reflection is what is inside, the reaction also and I don't want to feel angry and be troubled by things I cannot change, that is a waste of energy.
To discover that a galaxy is swallowing another, must be quite a revelation.
The observer is reacting on what is within.
The observer today reflected on 'over modest and not ready enough'. I was a bit surprised.
Bigger swallows smaller
That is reflection and not what I thought, I was not aware of it, my thoughts were different, it was the reflection on the thoughts.
The reaction is that we have to see the reason why over decent and not ready and what has to be changed.
What does it mean to be decent?
It must be in the mind.
I notice quite often that people are too decent trying to please others instead of being in their own self.
Purity understood as being nice to each other or showing love on a wrong level, instead of being truthful and established in the real self.
I see what I want to see?
That is in question. What I want to see is reality and being aware of it. If we are too decent that means not too humble, it means in the mind and not in the self.
The real issue is to realize the difference between mind and self and that is a question of discrimination.
Baba said in a dream that he is the insight and he is the following step. He is therefore in the reflection and he is also in the reaction on that reflection.
It means getting aware when it is mind and when it is self. Conclusion, in my thoughts was not the self, but the mind and we can still feel sorry with the frog on the heart level, don't we?
Actually, that is not really on the heart level.
But it has to do with Ahimsa, non-violence.
Truth (sathya) is in the thought for the days a lot and it is the basic principle to be realized as sath, eternal truth. It is more about truth than anything else.
Also rightousness (dharma) and peace (shanti) are mentioned and love (prema) is the path, but hardly ever was it about ahimsa, non-violence.
