The Destroyer of Ignorance

Who is Lord Shiva, and where is He to be found? Many answers are given, including Kailash as His place of residence. The true answer is, 'Isavasyam Idam Sarvam' (All this is pervaded by Isa). He is omnipresent. There is no place, object or being where God is not present. Correct your outlook and recognise this unity in the apparent diversity around you. When God is omnipresent, what need is there to go in search of Him? The search is meaningless. If one gets rid of attachment and hatred, one will experience the Divinity inherent within. This is the sadhana (spiritual exercise) one has to do today - to get rid of desire and hatred which conceal the God within. Many people ask: "Swami! Show us the way." All you have to do is to go back to the source from which you came. Where is the need for seeking the way? The Bhagavatha has declared that it is the natural destiny of every living being to go back to where each one came from.

In this quote of Swami he explains Lord Shiva and how we should understand it. In the West we are anyhow not used to that, we prefer to see God everywhere and in the impersonal aspect and not in the form. We like the omnipresent aspect of the divine.

He is telling us that we should correct our outlook. That is important, because it is telling us that we can see the unity in diversity if we correct our outlook, we don't have it already in just thinking the divine is everywhere. Everywhere is a big thing and a concept, it is a place we go in the search for him and he tells us there is no need to do that.
We have to go back where we came from. And we try to get a feeling for it as the deep feeling makes the difference. We look for it inside and we try to feel it how we can get rid of attachment and hatred. It helps to see it as a lesson, when we see it as a lesson we go ahead and don't bother to find faults with people around us and there is no hatred if it is a lesson, but we wait until the lesson will make sense and that is an insight and insight is the sight of truth. Truth is permanent and never changing, an insight can feel like a dream, but it is not a dream, it will be lasting and a dream we will forget.
That is why he is telling us no need to search for him, he even tells us that it is meaningless, he is present, we just have to get rid of attachment and hatred.
How do we go back to where we came from?
We had an interview and he told us, 'follow the master, fight to the end, finish the game'. It has to be experience, direct perception is experience and it means not a concept. Whatever we think is a concept.
He is the man coming in our dreams to awaken. Dreams are insights and sometimes it can feel just like a dream, but when is an insight we will not forget it and in the inner view it will find its place and we will realize that it was not a dream, but an insight.
To get to a right answer as he is the man coming in our dreams to awaken, we have to listen to his words, in his words is the same reality reflected we find in the dreams and when we think it over to be able to absorb, we get to the inner view. Insights and inner view is not the same, insights are more or less pictures, as Swami said in the dream, he was present as two Swamis, one was the insight and the other the following step, it can be an insight without that it makes sense and we have to go the following step and only then it will be inner view. When the insights make sense it becomes inner view. It is a mirror and we have to listen to his words. He is the man coming in our dreams to waken only in listening to his words the insights begin to make sense.

We have to get aware of the dream stage, it is different from our mind in the waking stage. Dreams are insights and pictures and he said he is the man coming in our dreams to awaken. We know that dreams are not that easy to understand or often we don't understand it at all, it is a different level of learning following our own insights and insights have to do with truth.
When we listen to his words, we find the answer in his words, but we don't find it in only reading it, we have to think it over to be able to absorb. By thinking it over we get a feeling for it and that is finally the feeling that results in inner view.
He is the man coming in our dreams to awaken and he is also giving us the answers in his words what makes us able to understand the dreams or better to get to a right conclusion, often it is not really understanding, it is just a feeling about it.
We don't know the plan, we are only the instrument. Or as he often is telling us, he is the stage director, we are the actors. We have to live it to be able to see the plan behind the scene, but he is the knower.

We can experience the divine within, if we get rid of attachment and hatred.
Baba doesn't tell us to sit down, close our eyes and meditate, he is telling us to get rid of attachment and hatred. It helps if we see everything as a lesson and in that sense we don't find faults with others.
The spiritual exercise he is talking about it not sitting down and closing our eyes and meditate, even if we should do it anyhow regularly to live in sathva, to develop self-control and to stay in touch with the divine within.
We should get rid of the desire and hatred that conceals the divine in us.
And he mentions that we ask him to show us the way, if we see it as lesson, we are the watcher and we take it as it comes and learn from everything, we are not going to get identified with attachment at hatred if we watch and learn out of everything.
He is telling us to go back to the source from which we came.

When I was last year at the ashram in Prashanti Nilayam we had talks about a former Swami student claiming to see the light body and some people are going there and giving donations as it seems at least at the outside that place is growing, it is a copy of the real ashram and it is in that sense the shadow of it.
Why shadow? Because it is attachment to the form and they believe in miracles. It was a video clip that showed us how the door of the car was opened and they followed an invisible Baba to his chair and they claim to be able to talk to him and giving in his name interviews and even rings and objects they call manifested.

I had been living in the USA, when the man coming in our dreams to awaken in my dream was with a Swami a face that had vampire teeth and there was a second Swami face with a very long nose and it felt real strange to have those faces in the dream, but that are as well insights and knowing that it was a warning.

Where there is FAITH, there is LOVE; Where there is LOVE; there is PEACE; Where there is PEACE; there is GOD; Where there is GOD; there is BLISS.

That was kind of scary and like a warning and my ex had a dream that I had to go back to Prasanthi to Swami to make peace with him.
If we look at the above Swami quote we get aware that there has to be faith and if there is faith there is love and if not, there is no love and if there is no peace there is neither faith nor love. That is how we get the feeling for it, we consider the quote of Swami in the light of our own experience and the insight we had.

There had been a warning before, Swami said in his dream, 'I warn you, in this room you will not get a right answer' and we didn't listen. We didn't know how to listen, we didn't think it over and therefore, we didn't get the message.
When putting the insights together we get the message and in listening to his words, we can feel it.
There had been a warning and it seemed as we didn't listened, at that time at the ashram everything felt that great and perfect and only love and harmonious, we just went ahead, but when the warning was in the air in that way we were no more at the ashram and now it looked all different.
The vampire is the energy monster, it took too much time, we wasted our time with him and it took endless time to get it done, he didn't care about the child, he didn't care about the duty of father or husband and in that sense he didn't go by what Swami said and the man coming in the dream said that he took only advantage of it.

Not that easy getting aware of it as it all had to do with truth and kind of hard getting aware that we wanted to see it as a Baba Lila. And now it was upsetting to have those insights and to realize we went for a risk without knowing what we were doing. I said that I was unable to know and I went ahead anyhow because he said he knew, but that was not true, how could it be different? It was the sacred atmosphere of the ashram and the man coming in our dreams to awaken it didn't make sense first that someone should only take advantage of it, but when we get the insights and we begin to get the inner view, finally it falls in place and after all those years we finally meet the right person we had been with and we had no idea why after all as it was all based on a lie and not on truth.
Being in peace with it is blending truth, the insights with the right action.
If truth and right action are separated only pieces will be left.

The long nose Swami was also the face of a demon and the truth of being fooled into it and what was clear is that if it is like that in the insights as truth, there is no way it can change.
And it looks like the same we find in those guys who claim to see the light form.
It is not based on insights, it is not based on truth and right action is the reflection of the truth, that is what we hear when we listen to Swami's words.
If it not true, it is not based on insights, it is acting out and that means it cannot be true, insights and inner view are not on that level and in that sense it is an ego game. The person who claims to see Baba in the light body alone can see it and we not, if we go there we are giving our power away to someone who claims to see it and we don't see it.
And it has nothing to do with the message of Baba.
The message is that he is divine and we are that as well and we should realize it and it is not about adoring the form.
It is just another form in the light body, but it is still a form, but when we listen to his words, it is not about the form, it is about the omnipresence of the divine and getting aware of it.
If we listen to the truth in his words, we go beyond the form and right action is the reflection of the truth and in that sense that cult about the light body is the reflection of not right action and untruth, fooling people and taking advantage of it as well.
How do we find the truth?
It is by living it and practicing, it has to be direct experience, no a concept, and if we don't live it, we will not understand it. He is the director of the play of our life and we are the actors or the instruments, he knows, he is the knower and we can only get the feeling for it if we listen to his words as he is the knower, we think it over and see it in our own life getting a feeling for it and when we are able to absorb it we get the inner view.

Who is Lord Shiva, and where is He to be found? Many answers are given, including Kailash as His place of residence. The true answer is, 'Isavasyam Idam Sarvam' (All this is pervaded by Isa). He is omnipresent. There is no place, object or being where God is not present.

Lord Shiva is seen as the destroyer, the aspect of the divine that is destroying our ignorance. We have to ask ourselves if we have the experience of his omnipresence, if we know what it means to be as big as the universe or if we just have the understanding of it and we think we know that God is everywhere.
It is not about a concept, it has to experience and direct perception. If we are thinking about singing it is a concept, if we sing it is experience. We have to get the experience of it. In the next sentence he is telling us about correcting our outlook, with other words he is telling us that our concept of it is not the right outlook, we have to be able to recognize the unity in the apparent diversity around us. That means we have to see it and not just think it, it is the same, if we think we know, it is conceptual and not true, if we experience it as insight it is the reflection of truth and not a concept and we have to have the experience of it and not just a concept in our mind.
We should meditate every day regularly, we can short cut and if we go asleep we stop with a few minutes meditation, but we should never not do it and why, to be able to go beyond the mind. All these here is based on direct experience only and if we don't meditate, we are in the mind and it will be difficult to make the experience of it and to get aware of the experience, these are very subtle states in our mind.

Correct your outlook and recognise this unity in the apparent diversity around you. When God is omnipresent, what need is there to go in search of Him? The search is meaningless. If one gets rid of attachment and hatred, one will experience the Divinity inherent within.

We have to correct our outlook. We have to experience unity in diversity, it cannot be just a mind concept, everything what we understand when we talk about it is on the conceptual level, but the reality Swami is talking about goes beyond the mind and in a realm that is non conceptual, with other words direct experience only.

This is the sadhana (spiritual exercise) one has to do today - to get rid of desire and hatred which conceal the God within. Many people ask: "Swami! Show us the way."
All you have to do is to go back to the source from which you came. Where is the need for seeking the way? The Bhagavatha has declared that it is the natural destiny of every living being to go back to where each one came from.
