The Atmic Principle and Peace

Every aspirant who seeks the Divine through the path of devotion should strive to keep away from the turmoil, cruelties, and falsehoods of this world and practice truth, righteousness, love, and peace. Those who seek union with God and the welfare of the world should discard as worthless both praise and blame, appreciation and derision, prosperity and adversity. They should courageously keep steady faith in their own innate reality and dedicate themselves to spiritual uplift. No one, including a Maha-purusha (Avatar), can ever escape criticism and blame. But such people do not bend, but hold on to truth. Those who indulge in criticism or blame later wade through unbearable trouble and then realize the real nature of great ones and start to praise them. Their weakness and ignorance is the root-cause for such criticism. So, keep away from doubters and ignorant people and desist from discussing your beliefs with them.

In the last thoughts for the day Baba mentioned quite often that material attitude leads to downfall and how do we avoid it and put it into practice?
He tells us here that we should strive to keep away from the turmoil, cruelties and falsehood of this world and how can we do that?
We should only keep good company, but not even the people around him we can trust and what about the world around us if we don’t even find it in the ashram?
I had always that not very pleasant idea that we should stay like a recluse alone to not be subjected to the movement, but that’s not it.
We cannot practice truth, right action, peace and love in taking just a nice attitude.
As he told us, if we want to experience pure love, we have to understand peace and we have to accept right action and if we accept the path of right action, we have to accept truth. Only if we have those three things, truth, right action and peace, we can make the experience of pure love.
He should tell us more often about those three steps.
He is always talking about human values, but when we see it in three steps we can better understand it. The fifth of the five human values is the result of the presence of the four others, ahimsa – non-violence.
What do we find in those words? It has something to do with time and action and reaction.
When we understand peace, what has to do with purification of the mind and pure consciousness, if we understand it right, we have to accept right action, it means there is no choice, we have to meditate or do Sadhana and that has always the purpose of purification of the mind, he also said not long ago that the material world is only good for purification.

Every aspirant who seeks the Divine through the path of devotion should strive to keep away from the turmoil, cruelties, and falsehoods of this world and practice truth, righteousness, love, and peace.

If we don’t understand peace and we project a material attitude into the divine, we also will not accept right action and we will not accept truth.
Someone asked me if Baba is talking in me and he mentioned that everybody has his own Baba talking in him and it is not the right way to see it.
If he is telling us that we should listen to him, it means listening to his real words and not to an imaginary voice talking in us.
Not long ago he said in a thought for the day that the objective world is reflecting in the mirror of Atma (non-changing reality) and that is present as pictures and that reflection of those pictures we find in his words if we think it over and by that he is actually enlightening it and it becomes insight, the pictures alone are not yet insights, they are just like Baba dreams, but when we find it reflected in his own words it becomes insights and that are his words and not an imaginary Baba voice talking in us.
How do we practice truth, righteousness, love and peace.
Like we did with TM, we have to understand peace, we have to purify the mind and by that we purify consciousness, what is good for one, is good for all and the overall good, that is peace. That is understanding peace.
Truth has to do with going beyond the mind, we are in the mind and have to go beyond the mind and that is right action, we have to meditate, but it is not enough to just think about meditation, we have actually to do it and if that principle is not understood, even if Baba is telling us about ‘bad thoughts’, we don’t understand it.
If we don’t meditate, there is no practice and no way to go beyond the mind, we have in some way or another to purify the mind that it is right action.
So we have truth, right action and peace and only now it is possible to make that experience of pure love.
If we meditate, we take care of it. And a not materialistic attitude, is not only taken care off by meditation, but by the siddhis.
With the Patanjali sutras we are able to keep a non-materialist attitude and live our normal life and our job. It is made for the West and therefore, it has the purpose of keeping our focus on a non-materialistic level.
Could be without the Siddhis we would never have come to Baba, couldn’t it?.
This morning I was remembering them as well, not in a program with the exact timing as we had it with TM, I just went through it and allowed them to change. I remember that Maharishi once said sutras can change like the manra, but I think people were too focused on programs and it was always the same, the program made it the same.
The friendliness changed into friendship and it felt better, because friendliness feels like an attitude of the mind and friendship feels like an ideal and with Baba we are on the level of ideals.
And with Baba’s divine guidance in my memory we went through compassion and the next sutra is bliss what he said, where bliss is there is God. And the strength of an elephant what was once in the air as ‘you have the strength of an elephant’ was just like Darshan, he was present. Because he said that TM is not the right path and we forgot about it, when in reality he is telling us that we should never stop any Sadhana we did, because he is alivening it from the inside.
Yogis are our friends, but the leader was just an actor and at the place of the Maharishi and therefore, it reflected as Maharishi criminal, but it was a reflection and we didn’t learn about reflections with TM and that Atma reflects, resounds and reacts, we had no knowledge about reflection and it felt just totally confusing to see above an enlightened master in the air the reflection of criminal, it was because they had changed roles, the master was not there and the national leader was the head of the movement at the place of the master. That is why they all looked like puppets on a string and he hand which should hold them was not there. The leader level reflected on all and it felt like all turned into enemies and later there was that black hole, the master not there, no insights reflecting and no presence of Atma, no light, but only a replacement master.
It is uplifting to listen to Baba’s words and to think it over because it makes us feel close to him, but he is not talking in us.
If he would be talking we would be two, he and I, but in reality there is only one and that is the non-changing Atma and the objective world reflects and creates pictures and in his words is the reflection of those pictures.
So I went on with the Sutras today and after the strength of the elephant related to Baba’s Darshan and him sitting on Sai Gita with a big smile, we went to bronchial tube, what has to do with inner silence, followed by the navel related to the body and its health, the trachea has to do with control of hunger and thirst, actually it feels more like the intake of food also energy and Prana. Afterwards is the sutra of the inner light and that is the higher self and reflected outside in the sun, the cosmic level of the higher self, also the husband has to do with sun and therefore, light and the moon is the reflection of light, the same reflection as the ‘I am that’ reflected by Baba. He is the ‘sun’ and in that sense the ‘I am that’, is the light, the moon light changes,  it is full light when it is full moon and that is symbolic to a full developed mind and the master, like Gurupurnima and there is the new moon, when we don’t have any light at all, but the mind is less strong and it is celebrated as Shivaratri.
It was present in mediation the way we have experienced it with Baba, the ‘I am that’ reflected by you in the insights it went to all and there is nothing but ‘that’ in the end, it is the conclusion of the intellect or inner experience, nothing left but ‘that’ what gives the next sutra meaning, the polestar, not about movements of the stars, but it has to do with the right direction, with truth and it is what Baba explains in that thought for the day.

If we uphold truth it is like the polestar the light going in the right direction and as much as I understood it was also explained by the Maharishi in the tape like that.
Thus we go through the lights and the reflection which is that difficult to understand.
After we have the sutra, difference between intellect and Atma using the expression we find in the Patanjali Sutras, it makes with Baba more sense and we know we have to use discrimination always.
Transcendence intuition or Atma intuition has to do with inner view and what Baba is always talking about, it is inner seeing and not worldly knowledge.
Atma, divine hearing, Atma divine sight, taste, touch and smell, has to do with refinement of the senses and as the senses lead into the mind and go downwards, we know that it turns the senses around into an upward direction and into direction of the divine and beyond the mind. We made all those experiences in Baba’s presence and when we see it with his divine light, it make much more sense and it is not going into realms we cannot even imagine what it is anymore.
Afterwards follows the flying sutra, relationship of body and akasha, lightness of cotton fiber, if we read the comments of Patanjali we find that it is about the subtle body and travelling in the subtle body like Baba did when he appeared on different places in the world and in the body. But it is certain that developing that skill is going beyond the physical body and that must be the aim of it.
But it doesn’t work with TM, first because it is too much programmed and therefore, not open to insights and it gets too much into routine and that is mind and not beyond the mind and people get stuck in the routine and they think it is something else than it really is and the master is not present, therefore, there are no insights.
Only if we look at the sutras in the light of insights they make perfectly sense and we can see what Patanjali (the father of yoga) actually aimed at.
If we remember it with Baba in it, it is a wonderful instrument to go beyond the body and the mind and to have a not materialistic attitude and we are able to live in the world and do our job no matter what.
The wisdom is great, it was technique and limited to programs and the master was not there, and it didn’t work, but as we have a Baba experience and he is telling us that we should never stop our Sadhana, we should actually consider it.
I never stopped with mediation, but I stopped with the Sutras, but with Baba we went through the Sutra step by step by inner view and I was not even aware of it, only now recognizing it in the light of the siddhis program, the whole program, Baba is the whole, that which is greater than the sum of ist parts. What it aims at, it makes much more sense that teaching of Patanjali seen in the light of the Atma and the highest wisdom and the ‘I am that’ and how the sunlight reflects in the moon and why we keep the direction of the polestar what is in that sense ‘truth’ and holding on to truth, it makes much more sense than it ever did with TM.
With TM it was just a program and the repetition of sutras and they never get to the right insights really, because they don’t have the wisdom of the Atma and the ‘I am that’. If you read Patanjali you will never find the word transcendence, but we find instead ‘Atma’ at the place of transcendence. It was translated and adapted to the West, so that Westerners can understand it and we get the principle behind it, but the Atma goes a step further than we go with a program. Atma is based on inner view and that is reflection in our dreams and what is reflected is the wisdom we find again in Baba’s words.

Those who indulge in criticism or blame later wade through unbearable trouble and then realize the real nature of great ones and start to praise them. Their weakness and ignorance is the root-cause for such criticism. So, keep away from doubters and ignorant people and desist from discussing your beliefs with them.

If we go through the Patanjali sutras with Baba behind it he is enlightening every sutra in its real value and seen in the light of the Atmic principle, he makes us aware of the real value in it.
The same as Baba does with all religions, he enlightens it from the inside and makes us aware of the real value, the core of it, the unity of all religions, we have to experience the principle of unity to get the experience and that is ‘pure love’ that closes the circle getting back to the essence where we began, with truth, right action, peace and if those three things are present, we can have the experience of ‘pure love’.
He makes us aware of the real value in the  Patanjali sutras and by that we get aware that the TM program doesn’t work, because it is too much program and technique and no master present, in that sense not enough Atma or no Atma awareness at all and if we go through it, as it really is and should be, in the end we feel Baba’s presence in it and it is like a divine Darshan and a wonderful experience.
