The Sun of Knowledge and Character is Power

The scriptures declare that body is the temple and God is installed therein. Hence consider your body as a vessel for cooking food, given on loan for hosting the festival of life. Can we return it to God, the Owner, in a worse condition? Should we not scrub it clean and return it bright and free from rust and dust? When the festival of life began, we received a pure, fresh and bright body from Him, innocent of evil. We have now inflicted dents, leaks and other signs of damage, through lust, greed, hatred, anger and envy. Do not return His property in poor condition. You must return it to Him, as pure as He gave it, to be most worthy of His Grace. Remember the purpose of your birth; and leverage your full potential and capability to achieve it. Wear the garland of devotion around your neck and saturate your thought, word and deed with Divine Love.
Baba (thought for the day)

Yesterday Baba made that difference between knowledge and character. Do you think it is difficult to understand?
I think it is, because knowledge is something we can get from someone or we can learn it, but character shows that it has to do with our attitude, right understanding and our being.
We could see meditation like taking a cloth and cleaning the mirror in the heart, the watchman is cleaning that mirror to be able to look in that mirror. What makes it difficult is our understanding of knowledge on one side and the missing notion that in the heart is a mirror.
Nobody talked in our culture about the mirror in the heart before we met Baba and if he talks about divinity in the heart and that we should listen to the heart, we rather think of a voice and not a mirror.

It is often declared that knowledge is power. No! No! Character is power. Nothing can be more powerful on earth than character.
Riches, scholarship, status, authority, etc. are all frail and flimsy before it. There is no dearth of books today; nor is there lack of gurus. Educational institutions spread knowledge everywhere. The Sun of Knowledge (Jnana Bhaskara) is showering His rays in plenty to all alike. But, one can hardly find those who have imbibed the nectarous wisdom thus offered and are dwelling in the ecstasy it can confer. The mountain range with lust, anger, hatred, envy and pride as the peaks, shuts out the splendor of the Sun. Charity, compassion, fortitude, sympathy, and sacrifice, arise from the higher levels of consciousness while opposite tendencies breed in the lower levels. Remember, a strong virtuous character cannot be earned from any book; it is s earned only through intimate involvement with society.
Baba

And he tells something else, he tells us not knowledge is power, but the mirror in the heart is the real power. How do we clean that mirror in the heart, with silence or meditation, that are tools to calm down the mind and if the mind is calm and silent, we have cleaned the mirror and we can look in that mirror in the heart.
If there is lots of noise and no going inside, but we are only outward directed in the mind, we cannot see the mirror, because the focus is not on it, the mind (outer world) is too strong and too noisy.
What we learnt with TM was that with meditation we clean the mirror in the heart or we silence the mind and go beyond the mind. It does happen by meditation but the technique is reestablishing the mind at the same time. We are too busy to meditate to be able to watch and to get aware of the mirror.
So Baba doesn’t tell us meditate to clean the mirror in the heart and to go beyond the mind as all others do if they are working with yoga or meditation. Baba tells us to develop character and to be able to see the mirror of the heart. And he tells us that evil qualities, all the qualities related to mind and body are evil in that sense, that they prevent that we can see the mirror. It is much easier to just meditate to clean the mirror of the heard and to go beyond the mind than to get rid of all that what is not okay and you know why, because it makes resistance come up in our mind. And the mind can be that strong that we are just always too busy to bother about it.
And afterwards he talks about the Sun of Knowledge. Did you ever hear that the Sun is knowledge? He tells us not knowledge is power, but the Sun of knowledge is power. Do we understand it?
If we don’t know that there is a mirror in the heart, how can we understand that Sun of knowledge? There is only knowledge in the Sun if we see the reflection in the mirror of the heart and as we both know out of our past email conversation, that knowledge of the Sun in the mirror in the heart, it is reflecting knowledge, is not easy to understand.
Only two days ago I got aware of it that the ‘reflection of my ex standing in the ruin in woman cloth', is not only about that house of the watchman as Baba called it, we should take good care of it’.
The insight ‘ruin’ is the result that he didn’t care and that he took only advantage of it and that it is ruined. But that is not all of it.
The ‘insight’ is the summary of the attitude of only taking advantage of it. It means not only not caring, what is the opposite of Baba’s teaching, he tells us always be careful, it means no character and Baba tells us, character lost, everything lost.
So what is the lesson we learn in that knowledge of the Sun?
Character lost, everything lost.
It is a negative example of someone who claims to be a Baba devotee, but does the worst he can do. He has no mirror, because his mirror is not pure, mind only, no discrimination. If he had a Baba dream, he didn’t see it as a mirror, but he understood it on the mind level.
If the mirror tells that ‘I have to go and make peace with Baba’, he blames me for it that I have to go and make peace with a Sai Baba, who is divinity.
He doesn’t see the mirror getting aware of it that there is no peace in him and therefore, I had to go to Baba, because with Baba there is peace.
I was not arguing about it, because that didn't help only make it worse. So he was not aware that there was no peace in him and he saw himself even as a lovely husband, when in reality he was constantly looking for faults and arguing. It felt like an insult telling me that I was responsible for it, when he was finding fault and arguing about it. He liked to argue and was harassing and take advantage of it and even putting Baba's interviews in question like he knew better and when Baba said it was not the right path, he said there was nothing wrong and I guess that is why I had in his mind to go and make peace with Baba, because he put Baba's words in question, but it was in his mind only, not in mine. For me it was a gift and it was a Baba call and it was great, but it was not possible to share it with him on that level, because for him it felt like a punishment and for me it felt like reward.
If he thought it was between me and Baba … that was again his mind only.
Did he understand the mirror or the knowledge of the Sun right? Not at all.
He projected it on the mind level.
So Baba tells us that the real power is in the knowledge of the Sun.
After we went to Baba and came back here and there was no way going back to him, there was that dream with the ruin and I told him, to find out why it was there as a reflection, but it was not that easy to understand it.
That is what got clear only two days ago. At that time, about ten years ago or more I tried to get some kind of feedback and he wrote back, ‘sorry'. It sounded ridiculous and to bad to answer, it was beyond sorry. And now it is clear it is the reflection of his attitude of only taking advantage of it, there is nothing what could be excused.
It has turned into a lesson, because Baba tells us, character lost, everything lost.
It is done, it cannot be excused. He has ruined it, it is too late, and he cannot change it anymore.
That is why it feels like a joke when he tells ‘sorry’, and it is too bad, it cannot be excused.
He does the worst he can do, fooled us in a relationship and just taking advantage of the situation and afterwards he tells, can you blame me?
That is dangerous, that created the 'insight' with the amok and the insight is Baba and the following step is Baba. He destroys and ruins our life and tells, can you blame me?

And in today’s thought for the day it is again the same, Baba tells us to keep the vessel clean and that we should not give it back to God damaged by lust, greed, hatred, anger and envy.
He doesn’t tell us to meditate to go beyond he mind and to keep it pure or clean, he tells us to keep the vessel clean.
We should return it to him as pure as we got it, however we get there. And first we have to get rid of all that evil in the mind and body to be able to develop that devotion he is talking about, because divine love is not possible in a rusty and dusty vessel, why, because we cannot see the reflection of the sun in a veiled mirror in the heart, it is veiled and hidden and not there, because we do not see the reflection, so we have to first clean the vessel to be able to see the reflection of the sun and that is the ‘I am that’.
There would not be any reflection of the light of the sun, if there would not be the knowledge of the Sun and that is divinity, the ocean of light and love.
If everything is conceptual only God is non-conceptual, how do we understand it. How do we get his experience if he no body and no mind and no concept?
The mirror is conceptual, it is an object in which we can see our own self, but the reflection on that mirror is just a reflection, whatever it is in that mirror, it is the reflection of being, if it is the light reflected, we can tell it is part of the sunlight, a sun ray. It is not the sun ray outside what we see with our senses and feel it on the skin, therefore, it is not the mind and the mind cannot see it.
It is a reflection of the sunlight inside the heart and only the higher self or Atman or He or divinity in us can see it.
Therefore, if there are evil qualities, whatever is identified with the body and the mind, is called evil, it prevents that we can get aware of the mirror in the heart.
And if that is there, it is impossible to get aware of the reflection in the mirror of the heart.
If we are busy meditating regularly with a technique, it is not mediation that prevents the reflection, but because we think with technique all is done, all what is needed is to meditate to get there.
We are not open to see the mirror in the heart and to get aware of the reflection, because we think it is all done. And if we have anyhow reflections, we cannot understand it, because we don’t expect it and we are cut off our own self.
We are not open for the reflection of the divine and that is why we stay in the mind and go on in the mind projecting the result in the future, it is mind only.
That is why TM doesn’t work, it calms down the mind, it is practice going inside, but our attitude is not open for more … we are the doer and we stay the doer and they tell that we will get rich if we meditate … That is not meditation, because it is in the mind, not beyond the mind, it is result thinking, not mediation.
Meditation is He - beyond the mind, it is Atman, he is the doer, he is the knower and we cannot impose a technique on him …

But if we develop character we are able to see the reflection of the knowledge of the Sun in the heart and we find in that the light, the beauty and the divine love, but only as reflection and that is non-conceptual. It is the reflection of the sun, not a sunlight outside as we see it with the eyes and our senses.
If we experience the sunlight outside it is in the mind, we experience it with the senses and the body.
In the mirror of the heart it is a reflection and only 'he is the doer, he is getting aware of the reflection and he is the reflection', therefore, it is non-conceptual, even if you see it inside and it feels like a 'thought', it is no thought, it is an 'insight' and Baba is the 'insight' and the following step.
If that is for you conceptual, the conclusion that God is non-conceptual is wrong... because the 'insight' is Baba and the question is what is non-conceptual being and why should the divine be non-conceptual? Or we have to ask what is the difference between non-conceptual and 'insight'?
