The Answer is Joyful

Human beings are endowed with memory, as well as the faculty to forget. Both are useful skills.
Perhaps, the power to forget is even more important – otherwise people will lament over the loss of millions of parents and kinsmen from previous births, and also the insults and injuries they suffered in this birth.
Luckily the power to forget helps with all of these. People often remember only those things that have impressed them as significant – their birthdays, wedding days, their debtors, etc.
Tragedy is that people forget the most critical thing about their earthly career – the key to happiness and liberation. Man cannot afford to forget the questions - “Who am I? Where am I going? Where did I come from? What is the nature and purpose of all this?”
Baba (thought for the day)
What is the nature and purpose of all this?
When I went to Baba I was in a relationship with the leader of the TM-movement and because I thought it was important, I mentioned it in the interview.

But Baba asked a surprising question, he asked me who the friend was, if it was the Maharishi or the leader and I didn’t know.
That was kind of confusing, things felt different as they should be and why there was a feeling of friendship if it was not real and at the same time he said that 'yogis are our friends'?
A few weeks later when I wanted to take the plane and fly back, still in contact with that so called 'friend', during the morning Darshan Baba looked in my eyes and smiled.
After I couldn’t leave, because I had no real reason to go back. In the afternoon during Darshan it felt like he was the winner.
At that time I still informed the so called ‘friend’ about it and I thought everything was great, I just didn’t understand why Baba had said during the interview that TM was not the right path and I should only think of God.
In the mean time it has changed.
The so called friend three months later engaged himself to make sure I got it, after sending a postcard with a witch, he went into another relationship, because I didn't fly back when he wanted it.
He went for a replacement and it was kind of obvious that the so called friend had never been a friend and the yogi was not present, so there was nothing left and it was not funny to go back and to realize that my life had dissolved in thin air, it was not real and all gone. The question was why?
Baba means with ‘I’ divinity and not only his form but divinity in general and that became very clear.
Yogananda Paramahansa was in my dream and as he is a yogi and therefore, he is the friend as 'yogis are our friends', by his presence makes the principle real. The Maharishi was not present and therefore, no friend or it was not clear why there was a feeling of friendship projected on someone else, who was just a Bhogi.
If the master would have been present it would have been okay, but it was not and the feeling of friendship in the background, as it still was about yoga and meditation, was projected on the leader who would have liked to be a yogi, but he was a Bhogi.
No yogi would go against the higher principles, otherwise, he also would not be anymore a Yogi but a Bhogi.
In the inner view Yogananda makes the tradition of yoga real again as ‘yogis are our friends’, it is his presence which makes it real and not a tradition or a technique or a book. That is the reason for being present and not absent, because he is a friend.
It was not real with TM.
What is the nature and purpose of all this?
The master not present and the leader too busy being a Bhogi and not a Yogi, the yogic principle broke in pieces behind a beautiful sunshine environment.
That difference between Yogi and Bhogi came up and it feels somehow good. The presence of a yogi makes it possible to let go and to relax. It was difficult and a constant challenge because of the absence of the yogi and the friend and it put everything in question, the motivation and why we went for it, if it was all wrong.
There was no real friend and it was complicated and had turned into the opposite, no friends but enemies. In the light of a real yogi we get aware of it. What is the purpose?
The presence of a master makes it real, because friendship is not something we can get out of a book. And knowing that difference between a Bhogi and a Yogi...
Finally, it is clear why Baba was in the Darshan as the winner, it took time, but I couldn't forget it, not as long as it was not clear, it is a too difficult lesson to learn to understand that the principle lives only in the presence of a master and not alone in the teaching or the tradition.
It is about the principle of sathva and Yoga and 'sathva always wins'.
There are certain things we will be glad to forget, after we finally have learnt the lesson ...
