There are three stages of sadhana (spiritual
practice). They are concentration, contemplation and meditation. Concentration
entails fixing your gaze on one form. Contemplation occurs when you are able to
perceive the form within you, even in its absence. Meditation means when, as a
result of this exercise, this form is permanently imprinted in your heart. If
you continue to meditate in this manner, the form will constantly be fixed in
your heart. You should not confine your spiritual practices only to
concentration and contemplation. While it is true that these are the first
steps in your spiritual practices, you must progress further; you must
transform concentration to contemplation, and then contemplation into meditation.
When you carry this out, you will continue to visualize the form of God at all
times. The ancient rishis (seers) adopted this form of
meditation. That is why God manifested before them whenever they wished, talked
to them and fulfilled their desires.
Concentration
is the focus on the mantra and the repetition of it and meditation is the state
beyond the mind. Concentration is therefore fixing our gaze on one form and
name, in every name is the form.
Contemplation occurs when you are able to perceive the
form within you, even in its absence.
Contemplation is when we are able to perceive the from within us, even in its
absence. Do we understand it or do we have to practice first to understand it?
He is the man who comes in our dream to awake us, he is absent
in the form and he is present in the dream and he is in the heart.
The insights seem to be part of contemplation.
Meditation means when, as a result of this exercise, this
form is permanently imprinted in your heart. If you continue to meditate in
this manner, the form will constantly be fixed in your heart.
If that form is permanently
imprinted in our heart, we continue to meditate in this manner and we are
constantly in touch with him inside.
You should not confine your spiritual practices only to
concentration and contemplation. While it is true that these are the first
steps in your spiritual practices, you must progress further; you must
transform concentration to contemplation, and then contemplation into meditation.
First we began with meditation, repeating a mantra and transcending the mind and by that we got aware of the presence in the heart, what is the result as it seems of meditation.
While it is true that these are the first steps in your
spiritual practices, you must progress further; you must transform
concentration to contemplation, and then contemplation into meditation. When
you carry this out, you will continue to visualize the form of God at all
times. The ancient rishis (seers) adopted this form of
meditation. That is why God manifested before them whenever they wished, talked
to them and fulfilled their desires.
Thinking over his words is visualization of the divine, his words are always good.
First
love and love is always good and on the others side is fear.
With meditation we sanctify every day and
cultivate sacred thoughts and broad feelings. Good thoughts give us strength and if
we are in fear and restlessness, stress and strain, courage and strength are on
the decline, therefore, we meditate to use more of our mental potential.
The enemy is not outside, but
inside in the mind.
Bad thoughts are our worst enemies and good thoughts based on truth are our best friends. Yogis are our friends, because they teach us how to
meditate and meditation is based on truth.
Sath is the eternal truth.
With
Baba all have troubles with the Sanskrit expressions. If we think it over we get
a feeling for it, because it gets repeated and he explains it. If we do not
think it over we are like at home with Baba, but we don’t speak his language,
even if he is in the heart, we have to get a feeling for it.
Sath we know
from Sathva or Om Tat Sat or Sat-Chit-Ananda.
We call it with our words, pure
being, pure consciousness, never changing truth, sath. It is basically
non-conceptual being.
Baba tells us that we have to make sath our best friend and that is why ‘yogis
are our friends’.
We know friends and enemies
change with the passage of time, outside it changes and inside it remains the same.
God is everything positive.
When I was twenty years old I
already got to that conclusion that God is all what is positive and I thought that he must be inside present. During the time I wrote a diary there was the feeling of self-realization and of the inner master and divinity, it was all present already and it was also clear that it was about Karma and our lesson we have
to learn.
And later I began to watch to get in touch with the higher self convinced that we don't need to go anywhere for that, in the opposite, looking for it and searching for it gets us away from it.
In the mean time there was anxiety and fear because of the people around and the relationship done he got me into. There was that fear of being alone, the fear of
change, the fear of not understanding it and the fear of relationships.
Osho explained the basic fears. He said that there are
three basic fears, the fear of
relationship, fear of losing the mind and the fear of death.
That are the three levels we
know, body, mind and Atma. Atma is relationship level, mind is the others and
body is the I.
If for some reason the fear is stronger than the eternal truth
sath, there is anxiety and worry and that are not our friends.
With meditation we get rid of
it, we sat down and meditated and if it was not enough we went to group meditation and meditated more, but fears and anxiety inside
were not even consciously looked at and avoided and ignored. As it had to work and if it works it is not there and we want to be
successful in our meditation and therefore, it doesn’t exist, even if it is not
true.
The tendency was to avoid
fear and anxiety, because they are seen as strain and stress and that is the
enemy.
It means when all turned into
enemies, all became a source of fear and anxiety and there was a black hole,
trust gone and the meditation technique was no more a means to get out, but a means to
get into problems and that was awful scary.
Something we looked at as medicine
and as good, in the blink of an eye it turned into the opposite and as it was
all learnt by heart, there were no answers, but what should have been eternally good was no more and we didn’t
know why and what had happened and that was an awful feeling.
For me it was the relationship
with the national leader, he was not a friend (yogy) but an actor, but he was
as the leader at the place of the master and he was not there.
An actor has his role and it is mind and he has certain reasons why he is acting it out and the yogi is
just good and positivity and therefore a friend and goes in direction of
self-realization and not acting.
A yogi is not playing a role, but
he is living a message of divinity, the same with Baba, he is not playing the
role of the avatar or divinity on earth, what people are proud to meet and they
think in the mind it makes us special to have known him, what is the deluding
characteristic nature of the Universe and we take advantage of it to elevate
ourselves in the mind, it makes feel good or better, but it is not based on sath,
it is the mind and based on delusion.
What he is telling us here is
that we have to base it on Sath, the eternal truth, not on the delusion of the
characteristic nature of the universe and take advantage of it.
That I have totally lost, because
for me that has turned into Pandora’s Box.
If we go to Baba in the idea that
we are special because we go and see the avatar, we are actually not based on
sath and the eternal truth, but our mind is taking advantage of the delusion of
the characteristic nature of the universe to make ourselves feel good that we
know divinity, instead of realizing the divinity in our own self.
Divinity is
only in our own self, the mind is never divine and if the mind takes advantage
of it to feel elevated by it, because Baba is divine, we are in the mind and
not in sath.
At the beginning it seems it got even worse,
because there were no answers and my ex could just take advantage of it and as
we were far away from it, he could lie and tells us fairytales about the past and meditation
and we believed it in the present of the avatar, it made us blind, the deluding
power around him was very strong.
After we understand that it is
not possible to understand it without listening to Baba, he has to tell us why,
we are listening, if we know how.
As he has to tell us why it is
like that, because the mind cannot understand it and we have to discriminate
between sath, the eternal truth, that is what we are and our thinking that we
know it, because he said it ... what is only mind.
Only by listening to him we get
the answer why it is like that and the pain stops when we understand it.
God is around us and protects us,
if we understand the difference between sath and the mind. But if we think we
are God and it is the mind, we are wrong and it is not God and we think we go
in the right direction, instead we are caught in the mind.
If our attention is on the world
with a materialistic attitude, Baba tells us that divinity shuts itself off
from us.
The question is how we make that
difference?
The entire Universe is suffused with Divinity. Since your
mind is steeped in Prakruthi (worldly objects) you are not able
to see Paramatma (Divine). Just as when you focus your attention at a necklace,
you shut your eyes to what it is made of, similarly as long as you look at the
world with a materialistic attitude, Divinity shuts itself off from us. Once
you gaze at the world with a divine attitude you see only Divinity. Who are the
thieves that steal from every human being their peace and joy? They are the
thieves of desire, pride, greed, infatuation, anger and jealousy, who rob a man
of all his riches. But the worst of all thieves who inflicts the worst damage
is matsarya (envy). We must win over our internal enemies and turn our gaze
to Divinity who pervades the entire Universe..
In one thought of the day Baba
tells us that divinity is around us and protects us and that is good to hear so
our mind takes advantage of in self-elevation.
And in yesterday's thought for the
day Baba tells us that there are thieves that steal from every human being
their peace and joy and that is the reason I had to go to Baba. I had been living in Portland and Baba was present as a vampire and he was in my ex dream and told that that I have to come to him to make peace with him and we left and didn't go back. As he was in the insight as a vampire that was the thieve of peace and joy.
