Compassion, the Shield of Protection

Why complain that the ground cannot be seen when all the while your gaze is fixed on the sky? Watch the ground and look at the sheet of water that reflects the sky —then you can see, at the same time, the sky above and the earth below. So too, to adhere to the law of truth (sathya-dharma), in your every act, you must see the reflection of the glory of the Divine (Atma); then this attachment to the Lord will transmute your attachment to the world into a pure offering. Adherence to the law of truth is in fact the practice of the immanent Atmic principle. The goal of purity should not be altered or lowered; the essentials should be kept intact. Righteousness (Dharma) does not depend on the various names and forms that its application entails; they are not so basic. Dharma depends more on the motives and the feelings that direct and channelize your every act.

It was also a reflection in the sheet of water, not a good one, not what we would desire, it was all there again what had happened years ago and it can be it is reflecting just that event or it shows no transformation, one is the glass half empty the other is the glass half full. It feels like no readiness and nobody wants really to know, it is just about singing and believing they know. In reality it is that foolish because it is fixed on the gaze of the sky, to think we go to school and know it already, the avatar is a teacher and if we don't listen to his words, there is no way we can get the lesson. If we look in the sky and we believe we will know one day maybe, instead of watching the sheet of water as he explains it here, we are not having our attention in the class room, but we are actually sleeping and dreaming, we dream that he will appear again in some years from now and what if not, what if it is only a metaphor to make our mind go beyond the mind what is the past and the future?
Everything is possible and we are on the level of all possibilities and at the same time it never will be wrong, as the teaching of Veda is always the same. It is about truth and no matter how that truth is told, if it is truth, it can only be that as there is only one.
The example of the sky is outward directed and reality is inside directed. If we look at the ground and the sheet of water it is the mirror of the heart and the reflection we find in his words and in our heart, we see both the sky and the ground. If we are outward directed, we are based on the mind and fixed on the sky, as he is telling us here, we have our gaze fixed on the sky, fixed ... and it is based on believe only, there is no prove for it and it never will be.

With time it will be forgotten and in twenty-five year will be another generation as they had no direct experience of it and it will be all new again and a mystery and if not, there will be always someone teaching that highest wisdom of Veda.
It is also an experience getting aware the study help which was sent to the centers in the hope to get them away from, they didn't even get the meaning of it, it is still the same; they are all focused at the outside.
I got some beautiful flowers from my sister and a book and I like it. The title is 'The Art of Communication', by HarperCollins Publishers, New York and the Unified Buddhist Church, Inc.

That is a way we can understand it in the West, a way it does make sense and it is not in the clouds and the gaze fixed at the sky ... fixed ..., normally we get aware that we live in the clouds, but if they are fixed on the sky, they don't get aware of it. We should listen to the divine words, it is alarming what he is telling us here if we listen and don't go on seeping and snoring.

The mirror, the reflection is in the sheet of water on the ground and that is inside only and in the mirror of the heart, if we look at that mirror we get aware of the reflection of  it in his words and it was exactly the same before we began, it either means that there has been no change, no transformation, or not a big one and only an unseen change, hopefully it is a change anyhow.

If we take his words and look at it together, we see the sky and we wonder who are those gazing fixed at the sky? But nearly everybody believe it or not, nobody is ready to watch the heart and to get aware of that reflection in the heart when it is that much easier to gaze at the sky and to project it sometime in the future, we don't have to make an effort to learn the lesson today. Some expect a miraculous transformation; but no miracle in the transformation of the mind, not when it is about the mind. Maya, illusion is not that easy.
We look in the sky and expect the advent of exactly the same principle hoping to solve next time our problems what has not been done this time, it is mind only. It will be the same, it is always the same when it is about that truth, every enlightened master is teaching truth if it is true and if not, it is not Veda.

Wide-awaken, regardfullness, awareness in our ways of consummation is the subject in the second chapter of that great book. We know it as Baba calls is, ABC, always be careful.
We watch our thoughts if they are helpful or useful or not. If we listen to someone who is negative, we get the poison and we absorb it even and it is a great way and wisdom seeing a way to neutralize it. We know it is difficult to avoid such talks and most of all during work or in our job, we have to stay awake and we need to be wide-awake to not absorb it. But he explains how to protect ourselves with the energy of compassion.
It is beautiful and the same message, love and compassion, but on a very practical life level and with words we can understand. The energy of compassion as a shield of protection, that is useful. We have that much negativity in our societies and there is practical no understanding of the higher reality really.
It was also a mirror what happened in the center that arguing in a very scared moment people in silence waiting for the devotional singing to start. It made something come up a situation we had already years ago, the question is if we have to get aware of it what had happened at that time or if it is a mirror of no change, no transformation.
If we see the good, if we see it half full and not half empty, we think it is the mirror of what had happened before.
Whatever, compassion as a shield of protection that is great and it is love in action.
We should develop while listening to some negative talk the feeling of compassion, it means we have to feel it and not avoid it as we do usually. If there is negativity and most of all in our job, we don't only do not avoid it, but we have to listen to the negativity expressed and feel compassion with the suffering, by that we create less suffering for the other person if we are able to feel compassion. Compassion is transforming the negativity into positive energy. If we are able to develop compassion it seems a good way to protect us from the harm of the negativity in our environment. As we live in a materialistic society and those are rare knowing the Atmic principle, we have to develop it that is a good motivation.
We have to be careful that we don't harm anyone, sounds the same, 'help ever, hurt never', but we have to protect ourselves from negativity and that is always again an issue. It means care and attentiveness is our skin, the skin is the protection level and if we are not careful, we will absorb it and that is not what we would like to absorb really, but we get affected by it anyhow. Also communication has to be careful and it has to be peace and compassion in it to bring joy to others.

Most of the suffering seems to come from difficult communication with others. We feel misunderstood and also mostly from those we love.
I got a surprise present from my sister. She is on the way to New Delhi with my brother in law, they go for fourteen days to India, but they go as visitors and will see the Taj Mahal and Jaipur etc.

That is how I got that book and now we probably also got the answer why he said job, because most of negativity seems to be on that level and it needs a kind of cold bloodedness to be able to see and think oneself as devotees, but to develop anything else but compassion for others and instead of caring, we actually do the opposite, we don't care at all, that is certainly a means to develop compassion.

It felt kind of difficult what happened after that arguing last week and even if we always try first to ignore it and to think it is nothing, it will pass, it was not nothing and at a certain point I began to worry about my daughter and the worries got worse and it was not clear where it came from, it was just always present and not possible to change; it came out of nowhere.
No protective skin and no feeling of compassion, but where did it go we wondered. It had been the same some years ago and there was my sister involved and from one moment to the other, it turned around and everything seemed felt wrong. It was not clear where it came from, but as he said in the dream when he left the body that  I had been 'let down by the family', it seems that resulted in a feeling of no trust and there was again the father in the insight and wild mad hair.
That is how we get the insights. There had been the catastrophe in the air above the father and later when he planned the house in Spain it was illusion in the air above him, it was not possible to change it. It was a feeling that I couldn't trust anymore and the worries began, everything felt wrong, so that was the result of being letdown by the family.
Are we able to develop the ability to feel compassion, if it is a protection shield, we should actually be able to. Suffering and not joy and if we don't deal the right way with anger management it can get enforce really instead of transformed it is the same with trauma healing, we can get traumatized again if the insight is not right instead of transforming the negative energy.
If we are not able to face suffering, we have no protection.
We have to choose also the right nourishment for relationships and we use his words, nobody is listening, as all think they know and everything is done. He is a teacher and we have to listen in the class room to a teacher to learn the lesson, there is no use to go to school and to sleep or snore while we should study and wake up and think now we know all, even if we slept through the lesson and didn't hear one word he said.
It was in the wheelchair separated by height on the podium with the country flags and he is the teacher and all claim that they are special, because of him, but he is the teacher and we have to listen to the teacher and if our gaze is fixed on the sky we think we know sleeping through the lesson and we are foolish going on like that our gaze fixed in the air  and in reality we are that fixed outside looking in the sky that we are not even aware that we sleep through the lesson.
And the teaching and the knowledge is in that reflection in the sheet of water on the ground and we find it in watching the book of our lessons is in the heart and we have to get aware of it and watch carefully to see both, the ground and the sky …
Our gaze fixed on the sky is 'not that', it is the idea that we know just in knowing him even if we didn't listen to one lesson and one word really he said. The stage with all the flags and people separated by height at his feet, is the mirror of the people having their gaze fixed on the sky.
The difference between the divine and the human mind on the body level is in reality no difference, to think that there is a difference is dividing the mind and it was  agony, awful pain, not just suffering.

Why complain that the ground cannot be seen when all the while your gaze is fixed on the sky? Watch the ground and look at the sheet of water that reflects the sky —then you can see, at the same time, the sky above and the earth below.

About a half a year before he left the body there was a statue in the desert in the dream and a big red hand above it with black nails, it felt real scary to get aware of that. What is a statue in the desert, it is outward projection and not listening to his words, not aware that the lesson is in that sheet of water and mirrored as reflection in the mirror of our heart and that is the focus on the ground on reality and truth and when thinking it over we actually get aware of the reflection on the ground in the sheet of water and in that reflection we also get aware of our own self and that there is no difference.
A statue in the desert is God in stone, it is on the mind level and if we meditate and have both the man in the dream who is there to awake us, he would tell us, 'look at the statue in the desert, the big red hand (passion and hand, action) and the black nails, too much passion in too many people and an upside down truth, nails is black, Tamas, upside down, the gaze fixed on the sky and what we believe it is instead of knowing what it is. The sky  is wait for miracles, instead of watching the reality in listening to the divine words. No use of a teacher to be in the class room and give a lecture, if we don't listen and sleep during that time or snore and after the lesson is finished we wake up and we don't even get aware that we have missed everything.
We are fixed gazing on the sky and don't observe the ground, the mirror or sheet of water in the heart and  there we have both, the ground and the sky, but we have to learn the lesson he is teaching and for that we have to look in the mirror, it is the TV where the lesson is reflected.
There is no use of going to a teacher if we don't learn the lesson and we sleep instead. The teaching is not in a book, it is in the heart and it is the way the old wisdom has been taught always on the heart level, that is why we have that much respect and love for a master, otherwise, there is no mirror in the heart if there is no love.
The desert is barren field, nothing grows in sand and if there is too much Rajas, passion and more than truth, it means they gaze if fixed on the sky only on what they think it true, but not what the know it is true, because we have made the experience and we realize by the reflection of our own experience that it is not different from our own self, that is true and we can learn that lesson only in our heart and inside and not in the sky and outside. No way we find a bodysathva in a desert, there is no truth in rajas, it is passion, too much activity and the absence of truth and no Swami will be present in our experience if we are in rajas and in a desert only.

It felt like the grip of a demon, rajas is part of the rakshasas, in the dream it felt like a demon, but it is nicer to talk about developing compassion to protect our skin from the evil or suffering than to think of demons, otherwise, we sound like fanatics.
If we see it as family on the mind level and not including all humanity, it will be degraded on a sect leve, we cannot make a difference on the level of oneness, either all humanity is a family and all are one and it is the Atmic principle,  or we are on the level of a sect, part of the whole only and not the whole. Swami is the whole and he always talked about oneness only and not the parts of it.
We have to share it to get the right insight and it was the same with the 'I am that', it was in the air about both of us after he said 'engaged' it gets us out of the egotistic privacy of home or greed, it is not possible to get it without the mirror, we have to have a mirror to get aware of the reflection. We cannot watch our heart if there is no mirror, it is about self-realization, we get the wisdom in the reflection and we have to watch and that is based on the reality of oneness, but first we have to be two to become one.
Nobody can get aware of it in the egoistic privacy at home as he had mentioned in yesterday's words or with greed, we can only get aware of it if we mirror it.

Everything what Swami does has a deeper meaning and we have to find the right answer. It is compared to a diamond we have to find the one truth that is always the same no matter from what side we look at it and that is the work we have to do and if we realize that 'I am that' it is about that Atmic principle, we can look at it from all sides and it will never change and always stay the same and it cannot be transcended anymore and therefore, it is true and it always will be true.
