World, Time, Heart and Friend

The world is a scriptural text. Time is a great preacher. There is no greater teacher than your heart. God is the greatest friend. With full faith in these four entities, lead your life on this earth. Prema (love) is the natural possession of every human being. It is the fruit of the tree of life. There are certain impediments to taste a fruit. You first have to remove the skin and the rind covering the pulp inside and also cast off the seed. The fruit of love is covered by the thick skin of ego. You have to peel off this skin of 'mine' and 'thine'. Then only you can taste the sweet juice. That is why the Vedas describe God as Raso Vai Sa (Supreme Sweet Essence). So develop pure love, and through it establish unity with the Divine. The path of love is the shortest and the fastest road to realize the Divine.
Baba (thought for the day)

The place of God and the role of God and certain texts seem more important than others and we should remember it always to get the message right. And that text is very important and we get aware of it why if we look at it sentence after sentence.
First sentence, we have to get aware that the world is a scriptural text and how do we get aware of it?

We have to know the scriptures good enough to be able to connect what happens in the world or in our life to see it in the light of the scriptures.
And we have to listen to Baba, because he will tell us when it is the case and why.
(It is not about our idea what God is ... and what God does, but it is the greatest friend who makes us aware of it that the world is the scriptural text. If there is a 'gift', that is the gift - that he is the greatest friend making us aware of it. Years ago I wondered why we had in the Bhagavad-Gita a war situation and I thought religion had to do with 'love' even though the Christ had been crucified what is also war, for sure not peace and non-violence.

In the meantime we seem to get to the conclusion that if we get aware of 'ruin' in our life, we are in that 'war' situation, if we like it or not, it is created by the fact that 'ruin' means death and if there is ruin, there is only the choice between ruin and the path to safety, we live a war and not love and we have to bring ourselves into safety, it means we are on the path to safety or we perish.
That should be in in the mind of all devotees and in all centers, it puts the situation right and gets us out of the fantasy of the mind and development of imaginative faculty of the mind that God is just pleased to give whatever we think arranges us, what turns the whole process of 'love' only upside down in giving only. If we have to see the world as a scriptural text we have to face reality. We have to accept truth and not live in the idea of something which is not real.
First of all we are 'not special' because we have been with the avatar, we are just devotees and if we claim to be that, we should live up to that ideal and not betray the Lord in doing the opposite, nobody who went to him and does the opposite can be called a devotee.

The world is a scriptural text.

We should have that in mind and never forget it, because he is telling us here that we should have full faith in these four entities in leading our life on this earth. What are the 4 entities ...? Scriptural texts - world, great preacher - time, great teacher - heart, and greatest friend - God. We know the Bhagavad-Gita, we see our life as the battlefield and we understand the insights in that light.
If there is ruin in the insight, not matter what ruin, we are on the battlefield and if we don't fight we get killed, and we are either on the road to safety or on the road to death.
We are Baba devotees, we have to listen to his words and he is telling us, the world is a scriptural text and there is no way we can avoid it, otherwise, we are no Baba devotees.
That is probably one of the most important sentences I ever read, as he is telling us how to see life and how to get to the right conclusion.

Time is a great preacher.

Who is the great teacher - time. Who does it - time. What happens in time - we become a great preacher. The second entity is about time and in thinking it over and listening to him we absorb in time. When we became a meditation teacher it said that we begin with Sadhana, but on a certain level it is no more about Sadhana, but just time.
It the great preacher, we learn in time and we understand in time. If we listen to Baba's words in the thought for the day in the light of those four entities, we also get to the right conclusion in time.

There is no greater teacher than your heart.

The teacher is the heart. The inner master is in the heart. How do we experience the inner master and follow the heart? That is very important, because it makes us aware how stupid it is to expect whatever we think we get from God. It is not about getting and forgetting, what is only the self (ego), but it is about listening to the heart and the heart is the lesson of giving and forgiving.

God is the greatest friend.

Do we have here the giver, not exactly. We have the friend who makes us aware of the natural law or divine law and he is giving the answers and he is explaining it, if we listen to him. If we don't listen to our greatest friend and think we know everything better, we don't get it.
If we have understood that, we don't expect that he arranges our life and makes everything okay, but we understand that he helps us out of a difficult situation, because he is our greatest friend and he is showing the way.
If we know that he is the greatest friend and not the (greatest giver) we also know that he is giving what is making us aware that the teacher is in fact in the heart and it is not just his role to give, but above all to make us aware and he is the greatest friend, so whatever he is giving, it is making us aware of the heart and that the greatest teacher is in the heart. He is telling us how, he is enlightening and if we don't listen to him, we don't even get aware that he is our greatest friend.

With full faith in these four entities, lead your life on this earth.

This is the main thing, we have to understand it and we have to live accordingly. We have four entities and that we should never forget.

Prema (love) is the natural possession of every human being.

Love is the essence of life.
If we live in the relative, conceptual reality of mind and body, all the objects on the relative level and we meditate, what is left after we transcended it – it is pure being, but with Baba it is not only about pure being, but about pure love.
We know how we get to 'pure being', we have had enough experience with 'pure being' and a transcendental, non-conceptual state of being and we know if we are in thoughts again, we are back in the mind.
'Pure being' we experienced in transcending the mind, 'pure love' we experience in transcending the mind and discrimination between the 'I' which is eternal and 'that' which is just pure being, it is the 'I am that'.

It is the fruit of the tree of life.

Love is the fruit and the essence of every life. We want to taste that fruit, we have to go beyond the mind and the body.

There are certain impediments to taste a fruit.

We cannot just taste the fruit and eat it. With meditation we call it purification of the mind, we go beyond the mind and create a state of orderliness in consciousness and by that consciousness gets purified.
To experience the fruit of love, we have to get aware of 'you and I are we', at the first place and second, 'we and He is I'. (Baba)
And that is always true as well.
So if we are taking our example, 'you and I are we', whoever that is, it is 'we' and not just you and I, what matters between 'us' is important and not what matters to you or to I only.
It is important, because it is the result from being 'we'. And how do we get to the second step, 'we and he is I'. Where is He?
He is in the word, his words. The one who is telling us that we have to remove the skin and the find covering the pulp inside and also cast off the seed that is he.

You first have to remove the skin and the rind covering the pulp inside and also cast off the seed.

'We' are those who think it over together and He is the one telling us how to do it and we think it over and see it in our own life to get the meaning to be able to understand it. He is the greatest friend telling us, who is the teacher in the heart?

The fruit of love is covered by the thick skin of ego.

With other words, who is telling us? The greatest friend is telling us that our heart can only experience that 'pure love' if we remove the skin of 'mine' and 'thine'. That makes sense, doesn't it, because 'you (thine) and me (mine) is we, we means - no thine and no mine. In being together 'we' – we have removed the skin of thine and mine.

You have to peel off this skin of 'mine' and 'thine'.

We just did that, we do it in thinking it over together. We are two and therefore, we are without mine and thine, do you agree? On that basis we should be able to taste the sweet fruit of it.

Then only you can taste the sweet juice.

That is the basics to get to the experience of pure love. If we meditate we transcend our mind and thoughts and we get to a state of 'pure being' that we also can do alone, don't we? But not when it is about 'pure love'. If it is about 'pure love' we have to get out of mine and thine first and that is only possible if 'we' are two or more people, and we listen together to his words. Who is He? He is the divine principle, the is the 'I am that', he is pure love. We sing for him and there is only One.

That is why the Vedas describe God as Raso Vai Sa
 (Supreme Sweet Essence).

How do we develop pure love? We have to accept right action and we have to accept truth and when we accept truth and right action we have to understand peace and those three present, truth, right action and peace, if those three things are together it is possible to experience 'pure love'.

So develop pure love, and through it establish unity with the Divine.

And if we experience 'pure love' we establish unity with the divine.
He is 'that' and if He is that, 'I am that' and if 'He is that and I am that' and 'we are that' we all sing for Him only it expands to the insight, 'we are that' and there is only 'One', only 'that' and the 'I am I'.

The path of love is the shortest and the fastest road to realize the Divine.

It is about God-realization and self-realization, it is the fastest road to realize the divine.
