The Path of Love and Patience

The world is a scriptural text. Time is a great preacher. There is no greater teacher than your heart. God is the greatest friend. With full faith in these four entities, lead your life on this earth. Prema (love) is the natural possession of every human being. It is the fruit of the tree of life. There are certain impediments to taste a fruit. You first have to remove the skin and the rind covering the pulp inside and also cast off the seed. The fruit of love is covered by the thick skin of ego. You have to peel off this skin of 'mine' and 'thine'. Then only you can taste the sweet juice. That is why the Vedas describe God as Raso Vai Saḥ (Supreme Sweet Essence). So develop pure love, and through it establish unity with the Divine. The path of love is the shortest and the fastest road to realize the Divine.

Baba (thought for the day)

I have actually problems to be patient after all we have experienced in the past and so on. 

As pure love is actually the universe and ‘that’ what cannot be transcended, if it is about love only, we should experience it first.

In my opinion it is one of the reasons many people I know and new we never see in the Sai center, they keep distance and it is Baba who said it because they have not yet made the experience of ‘pure love’, but also when it is just mood making and superficial and people trying to show love, that is really the worst of all and I cannot take it as well, because it is not real and not true.

Lots of people seem to talk of love and they mean what they think love is, but that is not ‘pure love’, it is not based on character and right action and truth and understanding peace, it is just the idea of a feeling of love that is attracting us, but that is not ‘pure or divine love’.

And I have experienced since I came back practically only ego and no love and some people who think they are better than others and it was not only not love, but it was the opposite, the worst, thinking that everything will be given by the Lord and instead of love, there is only selfishness and self gets and forgets.

It was that bad, it was actually not possible to even talk about it.
He was actually kind of living on another plant, that is how it felt and I happened to be in the not very nice situation to be in a relationship and it was about the worst we can probably imagine to think we get everything from the Lord and that he is just there to fulfill our desires and nobody listens to what Baba tells, not at all.
The mind and the ego seem to be stronger than we think and if we listen to the mind, we will never understand it anyhow and I get impatient thinking that we should show love? Why should we show love?

He is showing love and nobody is listening anyhow.

So if I talk about that ‘world are the scriptures’ with people in the study circle, I am sure there is nobody who has heard it and tomorrow it is forgotten again, because nobody knows the scriptures. If I look at a mind and try to understand what is happening in the mind, it is searching for it in our scriptures and there it is anyhow not.
So first we have to make clear what scriptures and that ‘sat-chit-ananda’ is the best name of God…

Never heard about it…, one of the participants said when someone mentioned that Baba is Veda, ‘nobody cares about that’…

I guess that is it, we talk about it that the world is the scriptures, because our center leader thinks that nobody wants to know and that it is about something else, about what please?
If there would be listening, but you know, we read it, but we don’t listen. And reading and listening is not the same.

We are in the West, are you surprised?

Do you really think it got better here? Maybe on a consciousness level it changed, but in general it is not better, it is actually awful.

So we get such answers and we should feel good?

Okay, so that can happen, people don’t know and tell rubbish like that Veda doesn’t matter, when Baba is telling us - the world is the scriptures and that is Veda or what else? 

If we would see their thoughts we would get aware of it that they look for our scriptures and there they will not find it. Usually I am only listening and I just say something if I can if they let me talk and if there is a Baba answer, he knows.

So we don’t know the scriptures and he has been not only talking about it all the time, he is telling us the world is the scriptures.
We should know the scriptures good enough to be able to at least think it over and you know what happens, because they know they don’t know – usually we do not even begin to think it over, because we don’t know the scriptures and I think I should be more patient? I have been patient for the last I don’t know how many years and it has not changed, why should I be patient please, if it is for nothing.

I mentioned ‘ruin’ because I had been in such a relationship and there had been ruin in the air, it was an insight, but it was not nice, there was homelessness, it means no husband, as it is about the inner husband and husband is God and it was about being a beggar and that means no love. In the light of the spiritual richness and abundance if there is the opposite, it means no love and ruin in the air and it needs a lot of listening to Baba’s words and thinking it over to get aware that it is exactly what is in the scriptures, in the Bhagavad-Gita, there is a war and that war begins in the moment when it is about ruin, because we have no choice but to fight and to try to survive and it is going for either safety or ruin, not much choice and that is when we wake up and find that we are actually on a battlefield and people around us and even relatives and friends are on the other side and not on our side, that is when we know that the world is the scriptures.

It needed time to get aware that I am in a war and not in peace, but Baba said in my ex dream that I had to go and make peace with him and you know what, he thought I was in a fight with Baba and that felt ridiculous, it was clear, something was totally wrong about his state of mind when he thought that someone was able to be not in peace with Baba, what a strange idea.

The higher self is peace and I always went in direction of that higher self and we went and today we know that the problem of no peace is actually in his mind.

We are devotees or we would like to be devotees and we would like to make the experience of ‘pure love’ and he is telling us for that we need to understand peace first, so who does understand peace if he thinks we have to go and make peace with Baba … it is such a poor mind interpretation that I was speechless and really I didn’t say a word anymore.
I guess it was the moment when I got aware of the battlefield and he was on the wrong side and I was at the other side. I didn’t say anything anymore because I was scared of it and he didn’t notice it, he said so much rubbish that I was not too surprised that he didn’t         notice that I didn’t say anything, he noticed it only after we left and I never called anymore.

Even if we don’t realize it, we actually know it only when he is telling us and now he is telling, the world are the scriptures, now we understand it – it is the battlefield and I awoke on the battlefield and it looked that dangerous, it was not anymore about sharing and being good friends, he was on the other side of it.

When it is about bringing ourselves to safety we have no choice anymore.

It was about right action and that was the war and he had initiated it and we are like Arjuna in that war and we look at the other side and see family and friends and we don’t want to fight, but we have to and Baba has the role of Krishna, he is the greatest friend telling us why we have to fight and that is how the scriptures come alive.

The ruin said that there was no choice anymore.
It was a war situation, if we liked it or not, it was not possible anymore to go on dreaming, it was time to wake up.

Ruin means actually death and in the spiritual sense everything we did was in vain and it could also ruin the spiritual path. It was deathly serious. We had no choice between ruin and the path to safety, in a war we have to fight if we like it or not.

After all those years in that situation and we came back in 96, that are nearly twenty years to get aware of it that it is the battlefield? It took a long time to understand it.

So people hear it, but they don’t listen, because they are not in that situation and they don’t know that it is the battlefield, but I have difficulties to be patient with it, because nothing has changed and even if we repeat it again and again, nothing has changed and they find it even funny that everybody will hear it in its own time, but nobody does really.         

The world is a scriptural text.

It is illusion to think that we should remember it, it will be remembered when we are in that situation only, so why should I be patient? I am tired and not patient.

We should have full faith in these four entities in leading our life on this earth. 

I hope really that in India that makes more sense and people are aware of it, for sure here we are not aware of it.

We have those 4 entities, it begins with the world being the scriptures and next is time – time is the greatest preacher. And we have the situation of the Bhagavad-Gita.

There is a time we do Sadhana and there is time it grows only in time and that is probably that level, time is doing it. And the greatest teacher is in our heart and it is forgotten and people look for it at the outside and in Baba, but what he is telling us here that God is our greatest friend and we have a poor image of God in the West and that is also not something to be patient about it. The greatest friend is - God. 

But we know the Bhagavad-Gita a bit and we see life on the battlefield, only it took such a long time to get aware of it as we are that far away from it as it seems and we live somewhere in the West and there we don’t know the Bhagavad-Gita it is kind of a miracle that he said it and now we can get aware of it.

If he doesn’t tell we don’t get it and as we are not in that culture, we just didn’t get it.

Actually it is great; he is telling us here how to see life and how to get to the right conclusion.

Time is a great preacher.

It is done by time and that it probably why it needs that much time.

There is no greater teacher than your heart.

If we are focused at the outside and who is not, we are not aware that the teacher is the heart and we think we understand the heart, but if we know the reflection in the heart it is a mirror and you know what happens in a mirror, it is mirror language and that is backwards and if we look at it with our mind, we don’t get it. It means when we listen to him and he is telling it and we get the reflection as the same as it is in our own heart, we hear it and we get the meaning of it. 

Not that easy and what an arduous task to get aware of the one in the core as he said also just now in a thought for the day. The inner master is in the heart, but to understand it we have to listen to him the heart is the reflection of Atma and the mind doesn’t understand it and we are in the mind.

That is a fact and we have to accept truth it means we also have to accept right action and that is listening to him or purifying the heart because there is no other way to understand it.

Self lives by getting and forgetting, love lives by giving and forgiving (Baba). But we don’t think that it is that difficult to get aware of it.

The first time in the interview I asked him a question and it was about friend and not friend and yogis and that I saw in my boyfriend not what he really was, but what I would have liked him to be and that was the end of the relationship and my time with TM, what I didn’t like very much, I had seen it also as duty to be a meditation teacher and it was all gone and there had been ‘pure love’ and Baba said that it was not the right path and very         difficult to understand, that was already the second time that he said it was very difficult or an arduous task to realize the one in our core.

God is the greatest friend.

So he is the one who helps us to get there. He helps us to get aware of our inner core, but he doesn’t help when we go in a wrong direction and if we do that and we think it is him anyhow and he is a friend who is giving a small child a knife and no mother is doing that, because we can cut ourselves with the knife.

He is the friend who makes us aware of natural law and the inner core, he is the man who is in our dream to awake us, but even if he is there and awakes us if we don’t listen to him it is possible to ignore it or to just not get it.

If we don't listen to our greatest friend and think we know everything better and most of all in the mind, we don't get it, because we have first to learn the first lesson and that is truth – we are in the mind only and we cannot go on a direct way beyond the mind, we have to transcend it or we don’t go beyond the mind. He is our greatest friend and he helps us to wake-up and people have projected I don’t know what into it, some at least.  

If we know that he is the greatest friend and not the (greatest giver) as some seem to think, we know that he is actually helping us to understand the teaching in the heart, because we are in the mind and he not and we listen to the heart, but nevertheless it is not the mind, but the mirror and the mirror is the reflection of Atma and it is not understood by the mind, we have to listen to divinity who is telling us what it means what         is mirrored or reflected in the heart and we get aware it when we see it reflected in his words as the same.

So God is our greatest friend and yogis are also our friends. It is first about truth and accepting it and that is motivation to do Sadhana and do something about it. The greatest teacher is the heart, our own heart.

With full faith in these four entities, lead your life on this earth. 

Let’s build up that faith.

We should think it is possible, only until next study circle and the same questions will be there again and Baba gives the answer and nobody is listening to him and therefore, if I don’t give the answers and tell what Baba tells, nobody does. And I should be patient about that, why should I be patient, I get more and more impatient but after all it is his Lila and I guess we have to get on a certain level we just don’t care about it anymore, we just do our best. What can we do to not forget it?

Prema (love) is the natural possession of every human being.

Love is the essence of life, he tells us that in every thought for the day in a different form, but it is always about love and did we get it and did we not forget it? You know the answer, it is no. We forget it again and we don’t remember his words next time and it all begins new again where we are now.

It is the fruit of the tree of life.

Love is the fruit and the essence of every life. We want to taste that fruit, we have to go beyond the mind and the body, but how do we do that, we have to do Sadhana, that is right action, we have to meditate, but most people think they do Sadhana and some tell they don’t know and never did and we always get the same answer that they don’t know how to do it and if we ask all do it, but in reality we always face the fact that it doesn’t change and nobody does it.

There are certain impediments to taste a fruit.

We have to peal it, with purification of the mind, we go beyond the mind and transcend it and we peal the fruit and we get to the sweet core. To experience the fruit of love, we have to get aware of 'you and I are we', at the first place and second, 'we and He is I'. (Baba) And that is always true. We think it over again and again, and we think that, 'you and I are we', whoever that is, if it is the group it is also 'we', only there are more people. At the beginning I thought if I was ‘you and I or you and I and I didn’t know …, but as his breath is truth, it has to be true always, there is no difference it is only you and I or the group as ‘you and I’ and we are still we only.

But the second step is ‘we and he is I’, that is more difficult and why, it is about ‘we’, we already know it doesn’t matter how many people are we only ‘we’ matters, but if you are alone and not part of it, it means you are not ‘we’, but only ‘you’ and that doesn’t work, it has to be ‘we’, no matter what, it has to be ‘we and he is I’, that is the principle, therefore, He is not Baba in the body, it is the principle ‘he’ is also true for him and for everybody in a body it is ‘he’ only and that we understand after listening to it on and on, it doesn’t get clear and we do not get there if we don’t listen to him. If ‘we and he is I’ we get aware of the higher self.

But do we know who is ‘he’, no we don’t know if we didn’t make the experience and we don’t know if we didn’t listen to him, by listening we get the confirmation of it and that is only true if he confirmed it.  

You first have to remove the skin and the rind covering the pulp inside and also cast off the seed.

That is done by Sadhana, by meditation, by singing, by listening to him, whatever we do, we have to remove the skin to get to the inside.  

The fruit of love is covered by the thick skin of ego.

If we don’t do anything about it what is there, only ego. And as it seems most of all if we think we are great because of him. He is the greatest friend telling us to get rid of the ego and that is painful, we don’t want to get away of it as it seems we rather like to share it like our best friend and we develop instead the imaginative faculty of the mind living in self-elevation thinking how good we are, what a great achievement that we had been with Baba and therefore, we are that good.

To get to the experience of 'pure love' we have to remove the skin of 'mine' and 'thine' and how do we do that in developing the imaginative faculty of the mind thinking God I am and feeling great about it, yes probably that works also, because God is always beyond the body. 

If we go beyond it we actually think, ‘you and I are we’, 'you (thine) and me (mine) is we, what means we are beyond the ego together. It tells us with other words, no thine and no mine, but ours and you are not playing that game, you are standing at the side as ‘you only’ not able to give up your ego and not able to jump over the shadow and to attached to it as it seems. In being together 'we' – we have removed the skin of thine and mine.

You have to peel off this skin of 'mine' and 'thine'. 

That is how it is done when he tells us, ‘you and I is we’ it has to be always true, we deal with truth and it is unchangeable and not movable and it is always peace only and no way we can actually fight it. He said in a dream of someone I knew, ‘confrontation with me means death’, it didn’t sound good when he said it and it probably was not good.

Then only you can taste the sweet juice.

We will not get the experience of pure love if we do not accept truth and if we accept the path of truth, we have to accept right action. Truth is we have to peel off the skin first to get there and we have to do something about it and that is right action and we have to understand peace. There is no way there is no peace in the divine and God is always positive. If we have three things, truth, right action and peace, we are able to get the experience of ‘pure love’.

And we and He, and how do we get to ‘I’? He is the divine principle, he is the Atma and that is what cannot be transcended anymore, therefore, if you meditate you have an idea about it, because in meditation we transcend the mind. ‘Pure love’ cannot be transcended and it is like ‘pure being’ we get there and we find a state of universal pure love, the universe is only love. That is kind of an insight if we think that we are moving around in the mind every day and we are not aware of it. 

That is why the Vedas describe God as Raso Vai Saḥ (Supreme Sweet Essence).

And here are we again with Veda what one person said, nobody cared about it. Strange isn’t it to hear something like that really not very great indeed.

Why does Baba tells us that is why the Vedas describe God as sweet essence, because God is Veda.

So develop pure love, and through it establish unity with the Divine.

It is not possible without Veda, Veda is the principle and it is always the same, it is true, it doesn’t change and anybody who is going for the one only is living that divine principle and Veda are the oldest scriptures and it was always just about ‘that’.

He is 'that' and if He is that, 'I am that' and if 'He is that and I am that' and 'we are that' we all singing for him only, there is only 'One', and only 'that' and the 'I am I' and that is the principle and Veda is nothing else but ‘that’ as well, it is the principle of the essence of life.

The path of love is the shortest and the fastest road to realize the Divine.

It is his Lila and his doing and that is the only way we can detach from it, but we have to do it anyhow, but he is the doer.
