The Golden Rule, Patience and Dynamism

You cannot say, "I am going to have a quick meditation! I have no time!" Not possible.

So this path, the middle path, the golden path, wherein you are enthusiastic, you are in a hurry, at the same time, you are patient. You are patient, at the same time you are not lethargic. You are not postponing things. You know, often when people have to do something good, for their personal development, they say, "If God is willing, I will do it. If God is willing, it will come to me".

They leave it to God, when it comes to one's practices and development.

When we have to do something in the world, they do not say, "God willing I will build a house or if God is willing, I will make a relationship".

You do not do that! You look for a relationship, you look for a house, look for a job, look for money.

For all this you put your hundred percent, but, if you have to do something for others, you say, if God is willing it will happen.

Many people do that, at least in India. I think it is the same everywhere. If God wills, then it will happen. It should be the other way round. So, patience and dynamism. That is the golden rule.

This is the clinch, isn't it? We get that inside reflection in dreams and it wakes us up. Okay, that is great.

We know it is not possible to go for a quick meditation, we meditate and if there is no time, we can shorten it, if we do it always the same length of time like twenty minutes.

We have to learn that golden path, we are both, in a hurry and patient.

I have met that feeling once during the time with my ex, he made me feel lethargic and it scared me. I couldn't get out, I could go nowhere, there was no solution, there was no way out and at the same time it didn't work.

The Baba Lila seemed for nothing, not one dream he understood or inquired about it, only that I had to go and make peace with Baba, that was clear because it was an action and he could blame me for it, that means it happened, it changed.

God willing, I will do it.

How about job since a long time I don't like it anymore. On the way to Baba there was constantly that fear to lose the job. How strange, the time I went to India I never cared much about it, it worked out by itself as it seemed.

I came back and there is no use to look for something else, it is just time waste. We have to take what we actually get and be happy if we still have something.

He directed me in writing and he said by writing I get a new job. 

But I don't know really know what it is. Probably because I write about that knowledge. He tells me to not search for it, because he will give me one, but with him it is always about uncertainty.

I am impatient because I don't like that situation and at the same time patient, because I have to wait for him.

What else? It is a state of mind in which we have to look for it and because it is not there, we go on looking, but we cannot get out of it too. We are at the same time in a hurry and patient.

That is what he is talking about here.

Nothing I do will make anything happen.

I am not the doer, he is the doer. I do it because he said I should, but it is not what we think it is, it is something else.

We don't get answers without inquiry.

I mentioned years ago that I was with him and my so called friend was in New Delhi with M. and Baba asked who is your friend and that it was very difficult to understand. He said it was not the right path, but he didn't tell why.

I had those insights about uprooted and cut off several times and nobody told me, go and find it in holy books, go and look at Patanjali.
We thought it was about the tradition of masters and that seemed to be there, it seemed ...
Only in learning more about Patanjali I got aware that it is actually not there and that it feels therefore uprooted and cut off, or because of my nice experiences with that movement, whatever, on my level that truth was cut off and uprooted and reflected on that level.

I would not get aware of it without searching for what..., the right answer?

It means searching for knowledge.
It is also called tapas, spiritual work. It is that inner fire which makes us go on, not for a certain result, it is not about something happening.

If it is not there, it gets lethargic, if patience is not there it gets impatient and in a hurry and we have no time. 

It is the dynamics between the two which leads to self-inquiry and the right answers.

When it is about self-development lots of people think, when it is God willing it will happen and they don't do anything at all and that is just postponing it or they think they will do it when they have time, that means being in a hurry.

When it is about job we have to act to do something..., otherwise, noting is happening at all.

He turned it upside down, he said he will give the job, it means nothing is happening. Nothing 'you do' will make anything happen.

What do I do in following him? 

Even though he is behind it, you think I am the doer and that nothing I do will make anything happen, because I do it.

 

So, patience and dynamism. That is the golden rule.

 

I guess it is like that because it mirrors reality.

Whatever that job, probably it is mirroring the golden rule and that is patience and dynamism.

When it is about result I am stupid enough to just write instead of changing something on a level it would be possible to actually change it. And when it comes to his teaching I should just what... enjoy? Whatever, it is not about doing nothing at all, that is sure, I enjoy to get the right answer and I don't enjoy at all being in Tamas without any answer at all.
But it is that reality in between, the golden rule, a state where we get answers, it is about self-inquiry. 
If we don't ask we don't get answers, if we don't have time and are in a hurry, we don't get answers and if we don't do anything we also don't get answers.
