Swami speaks here about action and that every action has an effect and the result of action depends on seedling being planted, just the nature of the tree depends on the seed which is sowed.
The consequences are inescapable. We can get aware of it in thinking it over.
We have to act and we have to take the consequence of it, we have to take the Karma if we like it or not, therefore, we should know how to do right action and be able to discriminate between right and not right action. And Swami informs us that it was the Emperor Manu, who first set the rules of Dharma and told the people to observe Dharma. By observing we get aware that the results of our actions appear sooner or later, but they will inevitably be there. If we constantly are thinking about God and we are doing all actions with divine feelings, we will experience the full blossoming, the human qualities and a life in fulfillment. We should dedicate all actions to God. Prayer cannot replace action, but when we dedicate our actions to him, we make out of work worship. We should perform action in that spirit and combine work and worship.
This is as well known as Nishkam Karma, acting without expecting a result. If we are aware that he is the doer and we are the instrument, the result of the action will go back to the rightful owner and if it is the divine, it will go back to him and not to the instrument. If we think that the body is the performer of action, it comes back to us and we create individual karma. Dedicating work to him we can get liberation, and become free of the result of action, that is the highest spiritual goal.
