Face Troubles develop Courage in the Self

When you face troubles develop courage in yourself. Do not think, “Why should I be troubled like this?” Develop broadmindedness. Firmly believe that whatever happens is only for your good. Never forget that trouble, loss, illness, etc. come only for your good. Do not see bad in good. Always see good in bad. Light has much more value when there is darkness around. The value of joy is realized only when there are troubles. During the rainy and winter season, we want heat. In summer times, we look for coolness. You need both heat and cold, depending upon the circumstance. No matter in which situation you are, you must develop good feelings. You must start this habit of always having noble feelings from a very young age. Whatever thoughts and feelings you develop then, will last forever. Develop good thoughts and give up bad company.
Baba (thought for the day)

Spending the day at the emergency ward, after a major fall and still hoping it would get okay soon, and that is should get better, after all, we had to face fact, that is was not getting better but worse, it was a bone fraction.
In the mind a vacation and the intention to travel to India next week, all that should not be happening now, that was clear.
There must be something wrong about the travelling plans or something else, but what was it? There has to be something wrong about it, if everything turns upside down in no time and how to see good about it? That is exactly what Baba is talking about in this thought for the day.
But we have already another date in mind, it seems even better and planned and what arranges us and not just reacting on seomthing. And looking back we get aware of how it had happened.
That vacation was an issue, because we have some time left from last year and we were asked to take it, it is the pressure of work and job in the background. That vacation was not really planned, but just taken as a solution to get time off.
Only now when it will be planned and an all different matter and together with another devotee if we are lucky, not travelling alone, we will hopefully fly during the summer time to the ashram and that is planning and it feels much better.

Getting aware only now that it was too spontaneously taken and mostly because of that time left from last year, behind is the pressure of work and indirectly that probably caused the accident, and it even does make sense.

As I had to take that time of last year’s work, I thought if we have to go somewhere, why not just go to the ashram and already the flight was booked.

With the accident, we go nowhere at all, but getting aware that the motivation was not okay. We will stay home and recover from whatever that is behind pushing us into such calamities. The good thing is to get aware of it.

That is the reason why we went into it, corrected by the accident and what we need mostly seems to rest and being at home.

As it turns out we will not fly anywhere, stay at home and recover from a bone fraction and that means rest and once more rest, whatever is pushing behind as stress and tension. Even if it is not directly felt during work itself, the stress behind is in the air.
There was a young girl at that job before we began and after we got there and all people seemed nice and great, but she told the story of a horrible accident, whe had been in together with an apprentice at her side. It was such an awful accident, she was the driver and had been for three months in the coma and the other girl, the third year apprentice, she is dead.
There is a lot of stress behind all that and I was shocked when listening to it. The stress was not in those girls, but that accident was the result of the stress in that work.

When they said it was a bone fraction, it felt hard to believe, though, I refused to believe it.
Even if I knew I would find a way to see the good in the bad, first I had to get used to the fact that stress can be expressed like that. There was just some time needed to accept that this was actually happening.

But in thinking it over we get aware that it had to do with work, it happened during lunch break and how we were pushed into vacation planning, it felt like we had been forced to take it just now.

Yes, as it turns out, we take it now, but in being at home and recovering from an accident. It is actually somehow great to think that for the next time I have nothing to do but take care to get well.

It is that comforting to think that nothing matters but getting well and knowing that there is time enough and no pressure and we just need not to worry about whatever there is always things to worry about behind ..., we don't have to be at a certain time here and there and nobody is expecting us to do our best and whatever...

See always the good in the bad and give up bad company?

What is good and what is bad? When is it bad company bad and when do we see the good in it?

If there are nightmares because of the work environment, not even my job, but it is everything, those people working constantly and all those accidents happening and why we get also into it, even if it doesn’t feel like too much pressure, it is anyhow behind and Baba said before he left the body, that my job was not okay, but I should not worry, he would give me a new job.
That is what he said and I guess that is one of the reasons.

That accident feels like the prove of it, only stress, we cannot see it, but it is in the air and it is in the people rushing around.

But how do we understand it, if he tells us to see the good in the bad, but to give up bad company?

It means we cannot change bad company into good and if we go on with bad company it will destroy ourselves. After all it means finally to use discrimination and to know the difference between good and bad company.

We can see the good in the bad, but we cannot change the bad company, therefore, we have to give it up.

If we look at that Bhagavad Gita and the story of the battlefield of Kurushetra, that is the battlefield in our own heart.

On one side the Pandavas, the good side and on the other side are the Kauravas, the bad side and there is an eternal war going on between them.

It is possible to see the good in the war, it has to happen, even if at first sight it might feel bad to us, because it is a war going on, but we cannot change it and transform the enemy into a friend and that is why that battle happens.

We can do our best and try to change the enemy into a friend, but after we did our best, we have to accept it as it is.

In the moment we would try to force the other to become the way we would like it to be, we are on the same level as the enemy and therefore, that is not possible, it against human laws and the result is that we have to face that battlefield in our own heart.

No matter in which situation you are, you must develop good feelings. You must start this habit of always having noble feelings from a very young age. Whatever thoughts and feelings you develop then, will last forever. Develop good thoughts and give up bad company.
