There was an Osho film festival.
It was explained that Osho was three years in
silence. Before that he spoke twice a day, the great books of him are the result
of that.
At the farm people focused on work, what seemed
logical. If we free the energy, nothing obstructed it.
One person said if he was in love it was his problem.
If he got jealous also. In the end he had no more relationship but only free sex
a few times a week, so he never got in troubles with feelings, and the rest of time
they danced and worked. It seemed Osho wanted not to have only people who came to
hear his lectures, but people who could work, that sounds like a selection.
I would have gone there to hear the lectures as
I was looking for answers. Work we have enough in our society, but it was another
kind of work, work transcending the mind like dance going beyond the mind, going
beyond disturbance, just work, and they worked a lot. But it felt also like a selection,
and he mentioned it was a fault to go to Oregon. And a selection has a result, whatever
that result will be.
Consciousness reflects. The master is reflecting
his time. It was time dictating the issue; he made it a living reality.
To live free, in general, not only on sexuality
and relationship level, was all over an issue. Not that free, but our
society was in sexual revolution, and they made at the farm a big thing out of it,
because there the mirror was clear, the refelction of it. It was possible to get aware of it. But it is
the wrong conclusion making Osho responsible for it, what was present
in our time.
After three years he came out of silence and began
to question and the farm dissolved.
The reflection has to do with the American
dream, the ninety-nine Rolls, going for more and more on the outer level and 99
is also symbolic for dynamic meditation to go beyond the mind. Water evaporates only in the last percent to
become steam. To go beyond the mind it had to go over the ninety-nine percent
to transcend and to get to a level of freedom beyond conditioning of the mind.
And the American dream didn't end with one success,
but went on and on, a working society going for more success. There seemed no time
to reflect, to get back to the self, to go inside, outside success seemed all there
is.
But I met a master later in US who said it differently, he
made people aware that real success is to get free, to attain Moksha, to not have
to come back and repeat the same thing over and over again.
Wherease, the farm land in Oregon was zoned
for about six people, they had thousands of people coming there.
Therefore, the conflict
was there from the beginning on.
Whereas, they tried to hide the houses, not possible with that amount of people, they began to influence the environment,
tried to get into politics.
Therefore, the result was the opposite. They got the attention
they didn't want, and everybody got aware of how many people they really were, and what human power was behind like overflowing the area by that influence and getting more power, even in trying to get homeless to
vote. It feels stupid to see that movie, on one hand side, they want to hide and then they go fully in the open and even try to get homeless people to vote...
Therefore, the real reason was, the country was not zoned
for that many people. They tried to to establish themselves. What was the use of hiding the houses, if they
went afterwards like that in the open?
It could not work out, not as we thought it should.
But what I missed is the right insight.
The Sannyasins tried to get more influence on
social and political level to get established for good in that area, but it
is not the tendency of them to do that normally, it was born out of the wrong
zoning being in conflict with law.
Osho gave them all freedom, he didn't mix on the
level of action.
It was a kind of compensation to get power
to change the law. That feels like a sickness and doing everything to be able to
live with it, compensation.
That may seem possible for a worldly mind, but
not if we go into spirituality and reality, because truth brought that up, that
is not failure but the success of the mirror.
Atman reacts, reflects and resounds... out of
that sight I could not work out, as they had to change the law, instead of taking care since the beginning that it was taken care of and in harmony with the law, not outlaw...
From the beginning on
the land was intended for farming and only zoned for a few people, in
conflict with American law, that was not a good start.
All those people working nonstop with human power,
giving money, time and effort for a project, which had no real foundation, it was like building on sand.
If it
would have been okay, there would not have been the need to go into politics and
protect with arms the farm of the danger from outside.
It feels like a construction idea in the air,
a dream.
More they tried to take influence on the public
and political level, worse it got. In the end the neighborhood farmers were
just afraid to be invaded by Sannyasins, and they were afraid of the upset neighborhood.
The farm grew fast and the farmers were afraid
the Sannyasins wanted to take over, it felt like that.
And the conflict grew,
more it got public, more it got in the open that something was not okay, they were
from the beginning on in conflict with the American law, a stupid thing
to do. But what I missed is the insight.
The films coming out show that there is
no real insight till today.
It was work, altogether working, it was powerful
as group of people, the influence felt dangerous for others.
Out of the sight of the higher self, who reacts,
reflects and resounds, it is not possible that the reaction and reflection could
be in harmony with the surroundings, if such means were used to get more power to
be able to just be established in that region of the world.
It was from the beginning on in question and it
started on the wrong food, what I miss is the insight that 'Atman reacts, reflects and resounds'.
