Auspicious Breath and Meditation - Soham

The Divine, auspicious breath of soham emanates from a human being. Soham means “I am that” (Divinity). The sound of the breath in human being, i.e., soham establishes the nature of Divinity. If one tries to contemplate on the form without recognizing the sound, he will not be able to understand the nature of Divinity.
Soham is sathwic in nature. This sathwa guna is Easwarathwa (the Shiva Principle).
There is another principle that emanates from this Divine breath, namely, Vishnuthwa (the Vishnu Principle). What is the form of this Vishnu Principle ? The feelings in the mind. In other words, mind is the Vishnu Principle.
There is yet another form which emerges from the navel of Vishnu, namely, Brahma. Thus, the principles of Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswara are emanating from the Soham Tathwa in a human being itself.
In this trinity, Shiva is the Soham Tathwa, Vishnu is the Mind and Brahma is the Vak Swarupa (in the form of words). It means, every word that emerges from the human being is Brahma; every resolve (sankalpa) emerging from the mind is Vishnu and every breath coming out of the body is Easwara.
Thus, Divinity is permeating the entire human body. The body is living, as long as the life breath emanates from the body.
Baba (Discourse delivered on the occasion of Dasara Celebrations – October 12, 2002)

link Baba Discourse

Meditation on the form without the sound of the transcendental OM (Soham), the mantra, it will not be possible to understand the nature of Divinity. Instead of focusing on the form, we can focus on the place in the body in general, the bronchial tube, it helps to get away from the form if for some reason it should seem difficult.

Indestructible - truth beyond the ups and downs of life

Vibuthi comes out of the picture
You are pure and indestructible; you are beyond the ups and downs of life; you are the true, the eternal, the unchanging Brahmam (Divine Self).
Golden Shiva Lingam
 materialized by Sai Baba
A mere five-minute inquiry will convince you that you are not the body, the senses, the mind or the intelligence, the name or the form; but that you are the Aatma Itself - the same Aatma that appears as all this variety.
Once you get a glimpse of this truth, hold on to it; do not allow it to slip. Make it your permanent possession. Look upon all with love, respect and faith in their sincerity. Treat your servants kindly. Do not entertain hatred or contempt in your heart. Repent for the errors that you commit and decide never to repeat them; pray for strength to carry out your resolutions. Do not find fault with others. Purify your heart by being good to all.
Baba (thought for the day)

Inner light
Tried find an indestructible symbol. That is the golden Shiva lingam Baba manifested at Shivaratri by Baba every year again. And another indestructible symbol is vibuthy, holy ash. There are some pictures of his the vibuthi just comes out like in that picture above.

You are the true, the eternal, the unchanging Brahmam (Divine Self).

How to be beyond the ups and downs of life? To reach that we have to be convinced that we are Brahman, consciousness, the divine self.
And he tells to hold on to it to make it a permanent possession.

All Problems Solved, a Lesson of the Patanjali Yoga Sutras

Far more valuable than the scholarship gathered from a million books is the grain of wisdom gained through a session of meditation. That flash (Jnana), however slight, is a precious acquisition. It is the product of personal Sadhana and indisputable authentic experience. As one cultivates and develops this grain of wisdom, controversy and criticism will cease. All arguments will be with one's lower self only until the Truth stands revealed. Self-confidence is essential for a person to enter on this path of spiritual practice."
(Sathya Sai Baba: Leela Kaivalya Vahini." Stream of Cosmic Sport Divine. p.1).

I woke up with her thoughts in my head, she was reasoning with me. As I couldn't sleep last night I took a sleeping pill, so this morning I slept longer and woke up because of seeing that energy of her thoughts in my mind and the phone rang.
But that was the last thing I wanted, without even waking right up and without meditation to go again in into that troublesome energy of last night. I didn't take the phone.
I began to meditate and this morning it went beyond.
That flash (Jnana), however slight, is a precious acquisition. It is the product of personal Sadhana and indisputable authentic experience.
What is Baba talking about? What flash? In my experience it is the inner light, that flash of light, the flash of self.

Familiarity with everyone; outward projected being at home

Be silent yourself; that will induce silence in others. Do not fall into the habit of shouting, talking loudly or for long. Reduce contacts to the minimum. Carry with you an atmosphere of quiet contemplation, wherever you happen to be. There are some who live in a perpetual tornado of noise. Whether they are in an exhibition, a fair, a hotel, a temple or even in Prashanthi Nilayam; their wagging tongues do not stop. Such people will not proceed far on the Godward path.
There are others who relish disputes and arguments; they are never content with obvious facts; they must create doubts where none existed before, and shake faith. They dispute whether Rama is superior to Krishna, or whether Krishna is a fuller incarnation of Godhead! These thoughts are not helpful either, for a spiritual aspirant. Winnow the real from the apparent. Look inward for the kernel, the meaning and purpose of life.
Baba (thought for the day)

And that is what we meet here under the pretext of family. The base seems to be that feeling of family which was in the air yesterday and it has to do with Baba's presence, only it seems projected on an outer level, we talk and walk, laugh and speak like we would be at home, but that is really not the meaning of a spiritual home going on socializing, non-stop talking and sharing thoughts of family life and expecting that everybody does the same.
To me it feels sick, but nobody seems to be aware of it or to know the difference or to see it, so they do expand.

In the Desert, tired of the Monkey Mind

Every spiritual aspirant should take up inner inquiry. In all your spiritual practices that you engage in, you should spend three fourths of your time on self-inquiry. The most important reason for all these sorrows you are prone to, is the weakness you develop because your senses are not under your control. Put your mind on the right path and develop a firm resolve. You will gain great strength thereby.
Baba

Storm is desire, desire for peace,
talk, being right, and wanting to
know and being important.
Baba tells, desire gone, peace left
Why this text? I went singing. On the way the issue Brazil came up and one thought Baba should be also healing.
Telling her it was not the same thing was of no use, finally she said. Till now we went to him and now we go to Brazil.
When I asked her how she was able to compare that without even knowing the background and that is was only her mind. She reacted upset, no self-control, something was in the air, and I cut it off on the spot.

The Sun; and basic Existence to Self-Realization

What exactly do people mean when they say the Sun has risen or that it has set? It is so far as their vision is concerned; that is all, is it not? The Sun does not rise or set. The incarnation of God is also like that. In the Geetha, Krishna said: “I am not born, nor do I die. Men of ordinary intellect consider that I am born many times and that I do many deeds during each birth. Whenever there is a need for the uplift of the world, I become manifest, assuming a name and form, that is all. So I am conscious of all My appearances, all My manifestations. I am almighty, I am Sarvajna (all knowing). Not only I, even you know everything. But your Jnana (wisdom) is overwhelmed by ajnana (ignorance). I am Jnana itself. I remain as almighty and as Sarvajna as ever. I am birthless, immortal”.
Baba (thought for the day)

I am still taken aback by today's feeling home and I am not able to make a decision.
Discrimination has to observe. It is the difference between the real value, sath, the self, the observer and the outer changing value, level of the sense objects.
The sun stands for reality, not changing like the self.
To get the experience is basic knowledge, existence and we realize there is a level in the self which goes beyond everything which is changing on the level of the senses. That is the foundation of the house we wants to get.

Meeting the Monkey Mind and Coming Home

If there is vast land available in a forest. It is very cheap to buy and own land there. You can easily go in for a plot or a site, whereas in cities like Bombay and Delhi , the cost of the land is so high that it is not within the reach of the common man. To get a plot of land there, even a small plot, costs a few Lakhs. Why? Because many reside in the city. It is thickly populated. Every inch of land is fully utilised. But in a forest, hardly a few people live and as such the value of land is low there. Who is then responsible for the high cost of land? It is only man himself. If no one buys silver and gold, would you still call them valuable? No. It is man who makes the commodities, articles and properties either valuable or valueless. Since man has lost his own value, prices of various commodities have gone up. In order to bring down the prices, the value of man should be raised high by practicing human values.
Baba

There was a meeting this morning. And it was good I faced already the monkey mind in dream, I didn't forget it during the meeting and watched out for it. How did he look in my dream, very clearly.
It means I didn't expect love, I expected the monkey mind and the meeting was different, and I didn't get tired.

Heaven and Dreams of a Monkey

Victory at the election ensures power only for a specific period. When that period ends, the politician has to contest once again and seek votes. So too, good acts done with attachment will ensure a place in Heaven, but when the deposit is spent out, one will have to return to Earth. A person visiting a city with some cash in hand is the master of all the bazaars, cinema halls, hotels and taxis, but only to the extent the money lasts. When the purse is rendered empty, one has to escape back into his village or city of origin, perhaps as a ticketless traveller, harassed by policemen at every halt! No, heaven is no solution for the hunger of the soul! The river must reach the sea, not the desert sands; the waters have to merge with water. That is the consummation named Kaivalya or Saayujya. Keep that goal of merging with the One Lord, ever in your focus and have your wavering mind continuously in leash.
Baba
It was important what I noticed yesterday. It was important on the level of integration and understanding. Tonight there was a real monkey in my dream looking at me and I was flying.
Heaven on earth is no solution
for the hunger of the soul!
Since I did TM I was often flying in dream and knowing I can fly in dream state. Tonight I even hovered around and got used to it. In the beginning there was still the worry the body could fall down, but it hovered around up and down and went on the ceiling like Spiderman.
The house of the self seems on the level of walls only self-satisfaction, feeling good and it is not on the level of the roof, that is sacrifice, so that was wall level.
And in the memory was the TM leader there is not even a name for him. Where was the friend? 'Yogis are our friends.' (Baba) But he is no yogi.

Faith in one's own Self and no cult

"First of all, one should have faith in one's own Self. Develop self-confidence, which will lead to self-satisfaction. When you have self-satisfaction, you will be prepared for self-sacrifice. Only through self-sacrifice, can one attain self-realisation.
Self-realisation means to realise that you are everything. Self-confidence is the foundation, self-satisfaction is the wall, self-sacrifice is the roof and self-realisation is life.
No one can live in a building without roof. Roof cannot be laid without walls and walls cannot be raised without foundation. So, self-confidence, self-satisfaction, self-sacrifice are very essential for self-realisation.
Today man has lost self-confidence. If one loses self-confidence, one loses everything. Only through self-confidence can one have the vision of the latent divine effulgence. "
(Sathya Sai Baba "The Life Principles of Man." 9 Oct 2001, Prasanthi Nilayam).

It is not a cult. Sai Baba is not teaching a cult, it is about truth, everybody needs truth wherever you are. It is all wrong understood about cult.

The Building of Self-Realization; every Mantra is okay

Unless the foundation is strong, a building cannot stand firm and last long. So, the foundation is very important. You can construct any number of floors basing on a firm foundation. Self-confidence is the foundation. These days many do not have self-confidence. They do not even attempt to do anything worthwhile as they have no confidence in themselves.
How do you expect them to be successful?
If a person has no confidence in himself, what can be done for his progress? On the foundation of self-confidence are erected the walls of self-satisfaction. A man with self-confidence alone can have self-satisfaction. A man without confidence can never have satisfaction in his lifetime. So, the walls of self-satisfaction rest on the foundation of self-confidence.
Then the roof must be laid. Self-sacrifice is the roof. Gaining satisfaction out of confidence, one prepares oneself for sacrifice. You cannot live in a building without a roof. The roof rests on walls, and the walls, in their turn, stand on the foundation. Then, we live in the house. Life in such a house is self-realisation. So, everyone must develop these four `S's' - Self-confidence, Self-satisfaction, Self-sacrifice and Self-realisation.
Baba
The building Baba is talking about is strong. What is self-confidence? It is not on the mind level. It is not what we think it is. It has to be real, it has to be true.
Self-confidence to get a strong foundation. The picture last year before Baba left the body was kind of a pyramid, I mentioned the pyramid. That what the building. Decisions have to be self controlled, not mind controlled, that the foundation will get strong.
What is the difference? It has to come from inside, beyond doubt then it is self-controlled. And sometimes it needs to be even confirmed by a master to be sure.
Wait and go only for it when there is no more doubt. As long as there is doubt, we wait.
It has to be the self, otherwise, it cannot be self-confidence. Wait until it is sure, our limitations will be challenged, we have to face the mind to go beyond it.
Self-confidence trusts and knows it will be there, we have to get to the level of truth, the never changing truth.
That is the foundation and on that level are the walls, self-satisfaction, knowing it is right, inner trust in that self-confidence and the mirror which begins to reflect in that light of the self.

WEF and Man has lost his Value

In this world every individual and every material has a value. Each one has his or its own value. There is nothing in this world that has no value. Unfortunately in the present day world it is only man who has lost his value. His life is spent without any value. Hence, man has become worse than an animal. Even the body of a bird or a small animal like a rabbit, even after it is killed, has a value. Its flesh or meat is useful. But man, even if he were an emperor, has no value soon after he dies. So, there is every need to live with values. You should fill your lives with values. You should live a valuable life.
Baba

I am listening to WEF speeches and longer I listen more interesting it gets, because these are VIP's, people who have influence, power and top jobs and it is interesting to listen to not only what they say, but also to what is not said.

Afraid of truth, an empty life and lost human values

A man lacking human values has only the semblance of the outer form, and is not a man in action at all. The supremacy and the distinction of mankind depend on human values.
Man's birth has a purpose: cherishing his humanity and rising to divinity Satya, dharma, shanti, prema and ahimsa, these five may be said to be the vital airs which together constitute the breath.
Without the vital airs prana, apana vyana, udana, samana, there is no question of man's existence, is there? Afraid that truth may land man in difficulty, he has moved further and further away from satya. He is in such a sorry plight that he does not know what dharma is. Actually, man should never abandon these values, however troublesome the circumstances may be. Giving up these values so sacred is tantamount to committing suicide.
When truth is given up, it amounts to losing one of the five vital airs.
The dictum, satyam vada, dharmam cara (Speak the truth, Act righteously), is the foremost in the culture of Bharat, and crucial to spiritual advancement. What is the principal cause of today's turmoil? It is the total abandonment of Sathya and Dharma. That is why Prema is fast vanishing. In the absence of Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi and Prema, himsa, violence, is on the rampage. In the home and the village, in the city and the state, even in the nation at large, we witness orgies of violence. Terrible, cruel, and heinous crimes are being committed. Human life has become empty.
Even now, through faith in God, we can cultivate our human values. Like a parent grieving over a dimwitted child, Mother India is crying over the dearth of human values in its citizenry. Moral, religious, and spiritual values have sunk to the bottom. Note how different King Dushyanta, educated in the city, lacking all values; is from his son, Bharata, who imbibed human values through education in an ashram. Education for livelihood is not worth the name. True education trains pupils to cognize the highest goals of life, and spurs them to realise human values.
Baba

That is our conditioning we have lost the human values.
How many years have past since the holocaust? We have no notion of truth and we speak about truth, we understand it wrong and we think it is true to speak out or mind.

Dharma is our Uniqueness; expand, the universal Self

Take the five elements, the components of this Prapancha (Universe). Of these, water has movement and coldness as its Dharma; combustion and light are the Dharma of fire. Each of the five elements have their unique Dharma. Humanity for man and animality for animals - these guard them from decline. How can fire be fire, if it has no power of combustion and light? It must manifest the Dharma to be itself. When it loses that, it becomes as lifeless as a piece of charcoal. Similarly man too has some natural characteristics that are his very life-breath; one can be identified as 'human' only when these abilities are present. To preserve and foster such qualities and abilities, certain modes of behaviour and lines of thought are laid down. This is called Dharma. These qualities are not imported from somewhere outside, nor can it be removed. It is your own genuine nature, your uniqueness.
Baba

What a great Bhajan we had tonight. The center looked very beautiful with candle lights and lots of roses. There is the WEF going on in Davos and I had watched some of the speeches, even Bill Gates is there.
I had it on mind and it was probably a reason why I was inside aware of the national consciousness.

Fear and facing the Mirror

We should identify only with God, not with any form of God. Sai Baba himself has said that his body is not special. Physical bodies come and go. They are simply dust. That is one of the symbologies of vibhuti. We come from dust and we return to dust. What we should identify with is the divinity in the body, the divine atma. That is why Sai Baba cautions us to be aware of the divinity that is in his body. That is what is so special about his body. It is his divinity. He tells us that we cannot even begin to imagine the reality of this divinity.

Baba tells in the Gita Vahini that Krishna said he would free his devotees of fear.

"When decline descends on the Dharma which has been laid down, I incarnate in order to revive it and protect it and save the good from fear," said Krishna.
There were rules of correct conduct for every being. These form the Dharma.
Baba

The Welfare of the World; we are One

The task is protecting the Sadhus, punishing the wicked and supporting Dharma. By Sadhus, I do not mean monks and ascetics, it means Sadhu-guna, goodness, uprightness, virtue; and these can be possessed by animals and even insects. Really speaking, the promotion of Sathwa guna is the best means of fostering Sadhus.
It is the Guna that settles it. All animals have the potentiality to be good; so fostering goodness in all is the best means of ensuring the welfare of the world.
Next, the punishment of the wicked. Those who transgress the limits set for each type or genus of animals, those who indulge in A-Karma, A-nyaya, who roam about caught in the coils of Ahamkaara (ego) have to be punished; those who have allowed Rajoguna (passion) and Thamoguna (darkness, ignorance) to predominate and Sathwaguna (truth and wisdom) to be extinguished in them and who have thus lost all trace of Dharma (righteousness) have to be punished.
Krishna informed Arjuna that the fostering of Dharma is also His work. A Sadhu is he who does not deviate from his duty, whatever the temptation and whatever the danger. The wicked revel in creating trouble for such men.
What is the establishment of Dharma?
The Sadhana (spiritual exercise) that leads to liberation and blessedness beyond this life. "Whatever I do, it is all for this high purpose; nothing is for My own advancement. Those who know this secret can escape birth and death," said Krishna.
Baba
link to Gita Vahini

The mirror is Sathva, it cannot be seen by rajas or thamas, but they reflect in the mirror as dark, black is tamas, red is rajas. White is sathva.
The mirror reflects what it present, but the colour can be there without the intellect understanding the meaning of it. It has to be understood in the right context. The relationship between the seer and the seen is seeing, it is growing awareness. The seer is in all of us the same higher self, there is no difference only some are awake and see it and others don't see it, but we are all the same.

Soul and "mirror-like awareness"

Soul and “mirror-like awareness”
This primal quality - the most original, intrinsic nature of the soul - is pure clarity, transparency, luminosity, awareness. Thus, the soul is primarily an organ of perception with the capacity to see things as they are. You could say that Being perceives through the soul. How does God see? Through the soul. How does Being experience? Through the soul. This basic quality of the soul is sometimes called "mirror-like awareness." It is mirror-like in the sense that it functions in the way a mirror functions. A mirror reflects things exactly as they are with no distortion.
Part of the development of ego in the context of inadequacies in the holding environment is the loss of this mirror-like awareness, a loss that is both a result of the reactions based on distrust and a factor causing the reactions. This loss is the loss of the capacity for objectivity, for seeing things without subjective filters.
Almaas

The mirror reflects exactly what is, it is the capacity to see things as they are and it is the self which perceives through the soul in its own light of the self, but it is in colours, it is in tastes and it reflects in a language which has to be understood to be integrated.
How do you appear in that mirror of the self?

The rain drop changes into hundred tastes and colours by the soil on which it falls

Persist in your Sadhana (spiritual discipline) till you reach the goal. Once the walls are completely built, the scaffolding is removed; so too, when the vision of Reality is attained, the various forms of Sadhana (like meditation, contemplation, worship, devotional singing, etc.) adopted by you can be dispensed with.
Congenial company is most necessary for you to persist in your Sadhana.
You will be shaped by the company you keep; you will be fouled by the foul thoughts of the people among whom you move. So be ever vigilant of the company you keep; the pure water that falls as rain from the sky is changed into a hundred tastes and colours by the soil on which it falls. Be alert! You must also look out for every chance to dwell on noble thoughts, do elevating tasks and curb the downward pull of the ego.
Baba (thought for the day)

This night in dream was my father. He was violent and strong, no ahimsa (non-violence). Once he got mad he pulled mother's hair and bend her down. She was white and had white hair.
I told him he had to go, he was dangerous, but she was there all happy that it was peace again excusing him.

Dharma protects, but it also destroys

Special sadhana and concentrated efforts are essential for the establishment and protection of dharma. We should constantly remind ourselves of the sacred statement: 'Dharmao rakshati rakshitah' (Dharma protects those who protect dharma). We should, however, also bear in mind a corollary of the foregoing statements: 'Dharma eva hatohanti' (Dharma destroys those who try to destroy dharma). Thus, dharma is not only a metaphysical concept but also a powerful moral force to be reckoned with. One who deviates from the path of dharma will have to pay a price for it in the long run.
Baba

What we did with TM in the big world peace assemblies is just that. In a connected effort together clean consciousness to help others to make better decisions to help consciousness to grow. That is a divine dharma.

The Fire of Emotion and Equanimity

Let the wave of memory, the storm of desire, the fire of emotion pass through without affecting your equanimity.

Baba

Equanimity is a nice balanced state of mind and it helps to be aware that the fire of emotions are ‘not that’. Emotions have no real value. If it is there, it is like energy with just enough air to create troubles.
The same with the wave of memory.

Truth is God, Truth alone triumphs

Sathyam vada; Dharmam chara
The Upanishads

WHAT greater misfortune can there be than the fact that Bharatiyas make no effort to understand their great and Divine culture, based on the most sublime ideals? Love is the form of Brahmam. Brahmam is filled with Love. Love can be secured only through Love. Only when one is firmly established in Love can he be qualified to experience the One without a second.

Embodiments of Divine Love!
"Sathyam vada; Dharmam chara" (Speak the Truth, pursue Righteousness). This is the great pronouncement of the ancient Upanishads and scriptures of Bharatiyas. Truth and Righteousness are the stepping-stones to human greatness. The puranas have also declared: "Sathayameva Jayathe" (Truth alone triumphs).
Victory adores Truth, "Sathyaanaasthi Paro Dharma" (There is no greater Dharma than truth), declare the Puranas.Truth is God. It is supreme folly to forget this fact and seek to obtain the grace of God by all Among men, each one is himself the cause of his fortune-- good or bad. He is himself the builder, the architect, fate, destiny, predetermination, the Will of God--everyone of these explanations is toppled by the principle of Karma.
BABA

Sathyam vada; Dharmam chara

It is impressive, because it tells us that Brahman and the universe, consciousness, is filled with love and without Love we cannot experience the One without a second.
But at the same time is mentioned that we have to speak truth and follow Dharma, righteousness.
Sathayameve Jayathe means Truth alone triumphs or truth always wins.
There is no greater Dharma than truth, truth is God.
Speak truth and follow Dharma righteousness and it leads to that state of Brahman, which is filled with love which is needed to get the experience of the One without a second.
In the 'I am That' is the basics experience of that oneness, because it means if you are 'I am that', we are 'I am that' both the same and then all others are 'I am that' and there is the experiences of the One without a second as all are 'I am That' only.
How do we speak truth? What is true and what is not true? Truth is not changing. Therefore, it is a higher truth.
It is not what we think is true, but what is always and under all circumstances true.

God is the inner motivator; and what about guilt?

The One God is the inner motivator (Sarvaantharyaami) of all beings. If He is within all, why is He not visible to all, you may ask.
Let me give you an example. Picture a rosary of different types of beads: coral, pearl, tulasi, rudraaksha, crystal, conch, etc. The string passes through each rosary and holds all the beads together but it is visible only in the transparent beads.
So too, you have to make yourself transparent, free from wish and will, that hide and befogs the Lord Within. Then you can see the Inner Motivator. To earn this transparency, purity of intention, impulse and instinct is essential. You can achieve it by systematic and sincere spiritual discipline. A ladder has to be as tall as the height you want to reach. So too, your spiritual practices (sadhana) has to be pursued till you experience Him.
Baba (thought for the day)

In my dream was my colleague and I was in an English course and it was awfully boring and she said, that she is more or less the consul directrice on that place. And I wondered, who am I?
I remembered 'God in me' to make the experience of the observer, because my goal is self-realization.

The breath of all beings, and why love?

The breath of all beings
Divine life is the breath of all beings. It consists of Truth (Sathya), love (prema) and nonviolence (ahimsa). How can we cheat on one another, if there are no others?

Fraud comes out of fear. If there is only One and no Second, then there can be no fear. No one can be more loved than the self. If we are all the same self, all will be loved like the self. What non-violence (ahimsa) concerns - who can hurt someone, if all are one and the same?
Baba

There was the self at night in the dream state and it was only love and there is beauty and truth, why fear when it is there? There was no fear, but the lesson was different.

Mankind has another body besides the physical

Although the food and habits may be different among nations, the spirit of harmony and unity displayed in sports is a gratifying example to all. It is a distinctive quality of sports that differences are forgotten and persons engage themselves in games in a divine spirit of friendliness and camaraderie. Sports help the players not only to improve their health but also to experience joy.
However, one should not be content with realising these benefits alone. Mankind has another body besides the physical. It is the subtle body, otherwise known as the mind. It is equally essential to promote purity of the mind and develop large heartedness.
True humanness blossoms only when the body, the mind and the spirit are developed harmoniously. The enthusiasm and effort which you display in sports should also be manifested in the spheres of morality and spirituality.
Baba

In the subtle body the mind is also essential to promote purity of the mind and that is what TM did on a big assembly level to promote consciousness to grow. The work was in the subtle body. But it doesn't go beyond that body and in the universal self, because it would not have been possible to get those big assemblies together if it would have been on an individual self level.

Guilt; and why it comes up

Your bad actions attract punishment and your good actions, reward. This is the theory of karma. But one blames God, if one is punished. This is a big mistake. Ensure that there is no trace of evil within you. Then you need not worry about any punishment. The very persons designated for punishing you will come and protect you.
“Have Faith In Yourself”
That is, first of all, know yourself. Everybody asks the question, “Who are you?” There is none to ask, “Who am I?”
When the question, “Who are you?” is asked, a reply that you are so and so or you are from such and such place or you are doing such and such job is not the proper answer. “I am the atma,” is the only right answer. The body and the mind are impermanent. To imagine that you are any of these is a serious mistake. Get rid of the feeling that you are the body and the mind and recognise the atma, which alone gives power to both the body and the mind to function. Everyone is a manifestation of the atma. This manifestation has expanded all over. This all-pervading atmic principle is the cosmic principle. You should attempt to recognise this Cosmic Power. You may feel that this is very difficult, but it is extremely simple. Your body attachment is what makes it appear difficult.
Baba

This morning in waking up it was there, the fact that I made you feel guilty and - not good. That was a rather bad feeling.
It is not about guilt, but getting the insight. It seems I can make you feel guilty just in writing about it and my ex till today doesn't feel any guilt as he took ony advatage of it. But of course, that is how it looks inside to bring it up and the question is, why does it come up?

Follow your heart, see the reflection of the inner being

Follow your heart. All you have seen and experienced in life will try to appear before your mind's eye in the moment you remind yourself. This means that the whole universe exists within you. All you see is a reflection of the inner being. Everything you say is an echo of inner thoughts. All you do is a reflection of inner actions.
Therefore, if you act in accordance with your own inner impulses, that is right action (dharma). If you tell what you feel inside, it is truth (sathya). If you contemplate on the experience of your heart, it is peace (shanti). And if you understand the impulses of the heart right, it is non-violence (ahimsa). If you respect everything that comes from the heart it is love (prema). Sathya, Dharma, Shanti, Prema and Ahimsa are expressions of feelings that come from the heart.
Baba

I am amazed, because he is telling that the inner being is all there is. For me are those inner reflections based on the outward experience, and not yet just an inner insight of the universe.

Speak the truth a kind way

Manus statement about speaking
Manu gave the world profound knowledge; "Satyam bruyat piryambruyat na bruyat satamapriyam - Speak the truth, but tell it a kind way! Never say anything true, if it is uncomfortable and causes harm!
"This means that you should not tell a lie, just because it could please someone. You should not speak the truth if it might hurt the feelings of another. Each person should tell the truth, but the truth should be told a pleasant way. In the Gita it is said "Speaking words shouldn't cause excitement, they should be true, pleasant and full of goodwill."
If you see a blind man, you know that he is blind. That is true. But because it's true, you will cause him pain when calling him, "Hey, blind man!" When hearing the word "blind", he is grieved. Undoubtedly, what is said is true, but as it grieves him who hears it, it is not okay to tell. Even if you meet a lame man and tell "Hello, lame man!" you will cause him pain. In the name of truth, you should not pronounce words which cause pain to others.
Sanatana Sarathi 7-91, p. 178

"Truth which hurts is not true", that said the Maharishi and that is right. Why is truth which hurts not true?
Truth never changes and has nothing to do with emotions, they are just the waves and changing always. Truth goes beyond it.
It cannot be true if it goes into emotions, because it has to stay beyond it, otherwise, it is not true.

Truth is one - eternal and not changing, the mind is a mad monkey always changing

You cannot see Me, but I am the Light you see by.
You cannot hear Me, but I am the Sound you hear by.
You cannot know Me, but I am the Truth by which you live.

The Lord will be watching with a thousand eyes the least activity of man to discover any slight trace of selfless love sweetening it.
Baba

Yesterday I was searching under truth and found a blog - seemingly about truth - and even worse about - what he thinks - Baba 'did'.
Ha, what he thinks Baba 'did', because he doesn't know more than anyone else does.
Above all - and that is the main thing - TRUTH - is not what we think is true or not true. That guy has not even understood the fundamental, the basics about truth and he wants to know Baba? Ridiculous and arrogant monkey mind not knowing his own limits.
Truth is never changing.

link: Yoga Sutras

The concept of truth is different from what we think - in the West - it is. Looking at myself, what is true?

Patanjali 1.32
For the prevention of the obstacles, one truth should be practiced constantly.
(At the beginning, first chapter, it goes on and the rest is about experiencing that - one truth.)

The Patanjali Sutra experienced, getting closer to reality

Acquisition of positions of authority and power, of skill and intelligence which can manipulate people and things, of fame and supremacy, of personal charm, of good health and happiness or of a large family with many children or wealth… none of these can confer liberation. You cannot attain liberation by undertaking sacrifices, vows, charities, pilgrimages or donations to holy projects. Though the objective world appears real, you must be aware that it is deluding you. You must give up yearning for deriving pleasure from the objects that appear and attract – both here and hereafter. Renunciation alone can lead to immortality. You will be liberated as soon as you renounce your attachment and desire.

Repetition of the Divine Name and inside Reaction

Repetition of the Divine Name
An ideal devotee of the Lord who is engaged in repetition of the divine name under all circumstances, will become immortal. Repetition of the divine name is the only property that lasts forever. Therefore, you also undertake this spiritual activity as a lifelong activity. Whether your voice is good or not, continue to sing the glory of God by constant repetition at least in your heart. Thereby, you will acquire merit that will protect you throughout your life. If you do this spiritual discipline, God will always be with you, in you, around you.
Baba (Divine Discourse, 23 August 2004)

Since he said inside ‘I wanted to fly’ I am actually meditating regularly again and I begin to feel more balanced inside, because 'flying' belongs not only to an airplane, but also a Patanjali sutra.
Yesterday I meditated even in the evening because it feels that good. It has an effect on feeling level. Twenty minutes morning and evening is what I did with TM, and for years I went on with it during the time in the Baba ashram.

Repetition of the Divine Name may be done in one of four ways:
- Through song
- Through Community Singing
- Through meditating on the Divine
- Through contemplating the Divine Form

Sathya Sai Baba tells there is no distinction to be made between the Name of the Divine and the form of the Divine.
This means that the Name of God (e.g. Rama) contains the same efficacy and potency as the form of God. Where ever the name of the Lord is present, there His form is. Where ever the form of the Lord is presence, there his name is.
I have meditated for years and years, began about thirty five years ago and I only stopped with dynamic mediation and the inner child work and Osho, after I felt like I never got enough rest anymore. That could not replace the inner silence.
Frankly, I love that inside meditation time and the inner silence, it seems it is what I had to begin new again.

Take any name that is favoured by you. It may be Rama, Krishna, Jesus, Buddha, Allah or any other name of the Divine. See the form in the mind’s eye. When the mind wanders, repeat the name to bring attention back to the form. Thus, make your lives noble and always keep the Lord before you in name and form
Baba
I also like singing, but it is not on that inner silence level.
I went more into the community singing, but to get the inner silence with meditation is precious. With singing it was about getting aware of the ‘I am that’ and everyone  being the same, meditation is on a more individual level doing it at home alone.

Atman reacts, reflects and resounds. (Baba)

The Tree of Life and the Individual Path

God is the Seed;
The Universe is the Tree,
Impulses and passions are the branches,
Intelligence is the flower,
Pure Consciousness is the fruit,
Love is the sweetness in the fruit.

Baba

We should care for trust, self-confidence and love and wait until we experience the observer, self-confidence and self-trust.
God is the doer, and it means it has to be realized, but it doesn't mean he is the doer if someone is living a dream. He is not the dream, he is reality.

The dream, and oneness between divine power and the self

See God in everyone you meet;
See God in everything you handle;
Live together; Revere each other;
Let not the seeds of envy and hate grow and choke
The clear stream of love.

Baba

The matey relationship in the mind of my ex to Baba was making out of Baba an associate like a buddy and I was not in it, but out of it and it was against his own family, no unity.

The behavior of a Sociopath

You have to keep your heart pure. Pure heart means pure death. This is very important. Body is a water bubble, mind is a mad monkey. Don't follow the body, don't follow the mind. Follow the consciousness.
Baba

Profile of the Sociopath

Baba said inside in my dream that he took only advantage of it, my ex took only advantage of it.
And now I try to find what fits in that profile of someone who in Baba's presence and takes only advantage of it.

The Psychopath, friend, lover and co-worker

Sometimes you feel envy, jealousy. This is a quality of a monkey. When you feel jealous, say to yourself: I am not a monkey, I am a man. The jealousy will go. Anger is a quality of a dog. If you feel angry, say to yourself: I am not a dog, I am a man. Then you will be free from anger. Envy, jealousy, hatred, anger - these are all animal qualities. You have to get rid of animal qualities and to develop human qualities. Lust is like thorns and love is like a flower, a rose. You have to pluck a flower of love without touching the thorns and offer it to God.
Baba

It seems an accurate profile of a sick mad monkey mind out of Western sight, therefore, I copied some of the text here.

The profile of a sociopath

"Psychopaths; they're our friends, lovers and co-workers. They're outgoing and persuasive, dazzling you with charm and flattery. Often you aren't even aware they've taken you for a ride -- until it's too late.

The sociopath, the manipulating Witness

The impressions of the senses, mind, and intelligence have nothing to do with the Atma (Divine Self), which you really are.
The Atma is unaffected by any subject or object or pleasures. To know the Atma as such an entity, unaffected and unattached, is the secret of Jnana (Wisdom). This awareness will guide you in both the outward (Pravritti marga) and inward (Nivritti marga) paths.
This knowledge will not block action but will fill it with purpose and meaning. It will build up faith, inspire a moral life and take man to the realm of deliverance along the road of Nishkama Karma (no Karma in giving everything to doer - God) and action that is not prompted by desires. For the achievement of liberation, Jnana is the direct road. Therefore, it is incomparably sacred. And naturally, it follows that ignorance is undoubtedly the most despicable. "See the Universal in the particular; see the particular in the Universal - that is the essence of Jnana," declared Krishna in the Geeta.
Baba (thought for the day)
This is highest knowledge, and not projection on feeling level. I am shocked by people not knowing the difference.

The Atma is unaffected by any subject or object or pleasures. To know the Atma as such an entity, unaffected and unattached, is the secret of Jnana (Wisdom).
